Once the stitches were out and the gauze neatly taped to him, he rubbed his wound gently, "Crazy is one way to put it." He said in a chuckle as he recalled calling her that the night she had placed those very stitches in him. He stood and slipped his shirt back on, confident that there would be no more need for it to be taken off again. "Well, now that my hair's cut and my stitches are gone, what shall we do?"

Delia looked him over, enjoying the relaxed look in his face. He seemed pretty content to get rid of both his long hair and the stitches. She moved around the sink and tucked the now clean utensils back in her bag and washed her hands one more time. Her skin was going to get pretty dry as well as cold. Note to self: buy lotion.

At his question, her stomach did another somersault. 'We'? She cleared her throat and checked her phone. No messages. 5:28. "Whoa, time flies... Um, well, we could grab something for dinner. Or I can make something. I'm kind of sick of going out every night to be honest." The food in the town was great, but the walking was tiring her out more than she'd expected.

"Food... Food is good." Jac said whilst nodding. He went into the kitchen and opened the fridge, frowning. He had still not gone to get groceries, and neither had Mog. "Uum... I have no food here." He said closing the fridge and turning to look at Delia. "Maybe we can order pizza?" He suggested, remembering she had said she was getting tired of eating out and walking.

"Oh, okay." Delia tried to hide the amusement in her voice. "Pizza sounds good." She paused, thinking about something for a moment. "Y'know, if you ever need anything from the store, I can pick up some stuff for you on my way here..." What a ridiculous offer! It's not like she'd be coming to his place this often.. would she? Delia looked at him curiously, pushing back any stray thoughts in her mind as she leaned against the wall tiredly. It had been a long day.

Jac shook his head, "It's really not necessary. I just haven't been able to get to the store. I'll probably make an essentials run tonight after you leave." He picked up his phone and went to the nightstand between the beds. In the drawer was a phone-book, all motel rooms had one. He flipped to the pizza page and picked one of the many listings, dialing the number. As it rang, he looked at her, "What kind of pizza you like?"

Delia nodded and watched him as he went to go get the phone book. She found herself staring at him again, but this time out of curiosity. There was no fawning admiration about his muscles or how good his hair looked, but the inner parts of his mind, the stuff he didn't tell her, or probably never would. When he looked at her, she pretended not to be phased and replied with, "Something with veggies, please." It sounded much more sweet and polite than she'd intended it to.

"Okay, so like olives and mushrooms and onions?" He asked, not sure what veggies came on pizza. He usually stuck with a meat lovers. He was a sucker for that bacon and chicken. The phone stopped ringing and a voice came over the line, "Pizza Dude in Galestrom, what can I do for you today?" Jac turned his attention to the phone, "Oh um... just a sec." He looked back at Delia. "Wait, are you a vegetarian" He hoped not. He really would have like to have some sort of meat on his pizza.

Delia couldn't contain her laughter, so she covered her mouth. The look in his eyes was almost desperate, like a puppy begging for food. She shook her head. "Put whatever you want on it. I'll eat anything." As he ordered, she pulled her hair back into a braid. In the back of her mind she wondered how long she'd be staying with him tonight.

There was visible relief in his eyes when she answered him. He nodded and returned to the phone call, ordering a pepperoni, olive, and mushroom pizza, large,a with a two liter of classic Coke. His order was taken and the pizza was said to arrive in about 45 minutes. He hung up and rubbed his stomach, anticipating the pizza.

"So we got some time to kill. Whucha wanna do?"

Marina Elemento
No worries, it's dialogue.

Delia listened to him order the pizza and the soda. It sounded so good at the moment her mouth was practically watering just at the sound of it. To cover up the obnoxious gurgle of her stomach, she cleared her throat a little bit. She looked at him and bit her lip when he asked what she'd like to do; it was a broad question and she didn't have many ideas at the moment.

"Good question."
She glanced out the window at the setting sun and smiled. The sky was the color of sherbet. "You have a nice view from here," she observed, sitting at the edge of the bed absent-mindedly. "I'm sure we'll find something fun to do." Delia gazed out as the last shimmering bits of gold disappeared behind the horizon. She lingered there for a moment, searching for something left over from the sunset, like a distant memory she tried to recall. Snapping out of the trance, she turned back to him and glanced at the blank television screen. "Anything on TV, maybe?"

He watched her as she gazed out through the window. He had never really took the time to check out the view from his room. He looked at it now, and nodded, agreeing with her. It was not a bad scene. He could even see part of the ocean.

When she mentioned television, he grabbed the remote and switched it on. "Let's see..." He flipped through channels, stopping briefly to see if there was an interesting program on. It was only local channels, so there were the usual evening shows. Sitcoms, TV series filled with gorgeous men for girls to drool over, and comedy game shows. "Is there anything on right now that you like?" He asked her, not really knowing what to watch. Until recently, he had never really had the time for TV. He was always out and about, doing someone;s dirty work or selling some sort of contraband, extorting people.

Delia pointed to one of the channels that he stopped at, a show that usually aired once a week that her family enjoyed. "My sister loves this show. Can't understand why though... I think she just likes it for the attractive actors, to be honest." She laughed a little bit, propping her chin up in the palm of her hand curiously. "I wonder what they're doing right now," she pondered aloud, thinking about her family. They were probably all piled up on the big comfy couch they had in the middle of the living room. Coming back to reality, she looked at him and smiled a bit. "What do you do for fun, anyway? Or when you're bored?" Her curiosity just wouldn't stop.

Jac stopped on the channel and set the remote down. He listened to her speak about his family, and it pained him inside, though he tried not to show it. He wondered about his family as she wondered about hers. His father was probably drunk, his young sister Kayla was just starting high school, and he hoped she was alright. Last time he had spoken, she was still living with dad. Patricia was probably on the road, traveling with whatever group of thespians she was preforming with now, and Adrian had been sent to a top rated boarding school. It was quite remarkable. He was the youngest, yet already the most successful. Even after that horrific day, when he and Jac both witnessed their mother's murder, Adrian was thriving.

He was pulled from his thoughts when Delia asked him about what he did for fun. "Oh, I dunno. I ride my bike around, or sleep..." He glanced at her from the side of his eye, "Work out." He added with a smile. He never really worked out, but he wondered if she would buy it. "I sort of like cooking, but I haven't in a while."

Delia's mind began wandering easily again; perhaps it was just one of those evenings. Her face grew warm at the thought of him working out, the light pull and tug and ripple of muscle under his skin. She blinked profusely at the mention of cooking and was brought back to reality yet again. "Cooking, huh? I love cooking. You and I should scrounge up some ingredients and make something together. A Thanksgiving feast." Her smile returned and grew at the idea, matching the little bit of twinkle in her irises.

The thought of cooking with Delia was a strange one, and it made him chuckle. "Right, because there is totally a kitchen we can use." He said sarcastically. There was only a sink and mini fridge in his room, and he doubted there was a stove and oven in her college dorm room. Was Thanksgiving coming up already? Oh how the year went on without him. The last time he had celebrated thanksgiving... was too long ago. He had rarely celebrated anything really anymore. The days all came and went, as did the years. His birthday would be coming up soon too then. The only one who seemed to keep track of his birthday every year was Mog.

He looked over at her to say something, but stopped when he saw her eyes. Her smile in all was breath taking with the residual light left from the sun tat had only just set. His words were forgotten, and he found himself starting at her, unable to think of anything to say to save his dignity.
