Kojiro smiled at this. "I took the liberty of getting you two week's worth of food. I ah...." The scorpion scratched at the side of his face as he pondered how to finish the question. "I knew you were eager to resume the journey so I took the initiative and obtained rations from the Yasuki for you as well, Miyako-san. Two week's worth....although if we keep this pace up, I'm not sure they'd last longer than four days."
Kojiro would gesture to a group of rations set inside his tent, apart from his own for Miyako to take.

That earned him a very big smile. "If you weren't married, I might consider something quite improper, Kojiro-san. Thank you." And with that, she headed inside the tent, but only ate two days worth of rations because she was afraid of making herself sick when overeating combined with exhaustion such as she was.

Denbe allowed their guides their wish- and Kojiro as well. Setting up his tent, the Hare settled down to eat, suddenly feeling the exhaustion he'd staved off all day creep into him in waves now that there was a place to sleep near at hand, and he was sitting.
"I'll miss them. We made great time, but at this rate I'm worried we'll run out of rations before we return, and they could doubtless help with that."
The more he thought of it, the more he cursed himself for not accounting for how tough Crab lands might be- or the fact that if they found the Magistrate, he might not have rations with him. Continuing to ponder the fact, the Hare started to think to ways they might solve that- they couldn't be sure how long they would have to search, so setting a rendezvous would be near impossible. However, they had other options open to them now...
Finishing the last of the rations he'd allow himself today- too much even though he still felt somewhat hungry- the Hare stared blankly in Kitsuki-san's direction, trying to remember if he had heard of a spell that might suit this need. Something to reach the Crab to ask for the Hiruma to be sent out to meet them part way once they were set to return.

Assuming Denbe was fairly confident that he knew of such a spell upon further reflection, he'd walk over to stand- or kneel- by Masuyo and discuss the possibility before sleep overtook either of them.

More laughter, more bonding, and by the end of the day the little Dragon wasn't much worse for the wear. Though she suspected she might be carrying Lady Shosuro before the this journey was through. She was also distressed to note that after traveling all the way down to Crab lands she only had a week's worth of rations left. Hopefully it would be enough for whatever they had to do out here, but she would have to... well... ration them, just in case.
When they finally made camp the boys all seemed to have a plan in mind, so she simply left things in their capable hands. She may have been stronger and more resilient than all of them, but she was still a shugenja and thus used to certain privileges... a full night's sleep being one of them. Of course, that didn't mean she wasn't going to help at all. At the very least she could build and tend the fire while eating her supper. Thin mountain air meant cold nights, so she imagined it would be appreciated.
After sadly reporting that she knew nothing like what Denbe was looking for, she did indeed go off to commune with the Kami. She hadn't really been told what these "Jade Wardens" were looking for, but she could at least see if anything was happening in the area, and there was rarely a time where she wouldn't take the opportunity to speak with the whimsical creatures.

Kagae would be following the group from behind and everything seemed to be fine. He was singing a song quietly to keep himself motivated when he reached where the rest of the group decided to set up camp he would quietly set up his small tent before walking out of sight.
"HNNNNGH.... BLEEEEEEEUUUUUUUURRRRRRRGH!"
This noise would be repeated for a minute or so before Kagae would come back looking paler than usual and sit in front of his tent taking off his upper armour.
"I think we should pace ourselves from here..." Kagae would suggest weakly, "We'll burn through rations and strain ourselves... " Kagae grunted as he pulled off a gauntlet, "The pace we're going at now is known as a forced march and only obtains speed at the cost of the armies health. People have been known to die in forced marches."

Well, Miyako finished her rice, but without thinking, she crawled over to a comfy spot in the tent and promptly fell asleep. She wasn't so proud she wouldn't have helped set up camp if she'd been capable of it, but the poor thing would have agreed completely with Kagae had she been within the ability to hear his words at the moment. Instead, she was curled up in the tent, fast asleep.

"It sounds like you might have your hands full with Kaiu-san, Kitsuki-san. As it stands, I have some rations I could give him if he has none of his own.... but yes. We should slow down our pace somewhat."
To the Hare, Kojiro would give a resigned expression. "It looks like it's you and me on watch tonight. What portion do you want? First or second?"

The Hare looked up at the sky, and after a moment, shrugged finding a place to seat himself comfortably.
"I think I wore myself out harder than I realized," the Hare said, looking up at the sky and watching the stars. He debated taking first shift, just to stay up, but he knew that if he meditated and slept, he might be sharper on the second watch. "If you can watch first, I'd appreciate it. Tomorrow, I believe you're both right. We'll want to pace ourselves, and conserve rations. If there's trouble waiting for us, it won't do us any good to be too strained to combat it, and we'll want to make sure we have food enough to see ourselves and the magistrate back again."
Standing slowly, the Hare bowed to them all, and went to his tent to rest, laying and quietly focusing on trying to hone his senses for his own watch. The Hiruma seemed to think that they weren't in particular danger yet, but a little paranoia was always healthy.

The bushi would nod as Denbe went off to rest. "I'll wake you in a few hours. Kojiro said as he drew his bow and prepared to do his rounds. Hopefully, his shift would pass uneventfully and Kojiro would be able to snag a nice resting spot.

I... had meant for the rations' worth of food to be consumed throughout the day, not in one sitting.
Until the end of day 2, Kagae will be -1k1 on his contribution rolls, and must succeed a Stamina roll at the end of the day, or the penalty will persist. The TN will be set by the distance you cover (not on a 1-for-1 basis, though).
Bayushi Kojiro! Ujina Denbe! Give me Perception/Investigation (Notice) rolls for your watches!

As you pray to the kami, a nearby pile of tiny stones that someone long past had set up would topple, the rocks falling to the ground. From the makeshift shrine, a rock-looking earthen green earth kami spirit would rise from the ground and hover towards Kitsuki Masuyo.
"What." it would say into her mind, almost groggily as it seemed displeased - not at her, just in general.

"Honorable Kami-sama... Hi! How are you feeling? Is there anything I can do for you?" she continued, her prayer taking a very conversational tone (albeit still quite respectful). Of course, she didn't have to be asked to go fix the shrine, nor to add a bit of Agasha design to it.
