"A fox stowy..." says Mara gleefully.
"Wiff ginger bwead...." finishes her sister snuggling close. Apparantly they were their own best friend as well as worse enemy. The twin bond between them was very tight.

*Kero smiles, finding the story they had mentioned...and reading it aloud to them...his voice, oddly enough, musical...but haunting...*

*Kero smiles*
Well...once there was a young lion...being raised by your mommy....and he stole half the sweets in the house one day....
*Ten minutes later, Kero finishes up*
And that little cub never ate sweets for ten months....having to eat a whole cake can do that to you...

*Kero shakes his head*
No...it was only a small cake...but he got a really bad tummyache....and he couldn't get the taste of that cake out of his mouth for a week....
*Sleep well, Ly...may you find peace in slumber and happiness in your dreams of ethereal wonder*

"Siwwy.... he Uncwel Kewo... Daddy say... he good fwen..." laughs Mara rolling to her back in merriment and almost falling to the floor.

*Kero catches her before she falls*
No, Ari...I'm not your brother....more like....a stepbrother...your mommy raised me when I was a little cub, just like you...she used this chair to rock me to sleep, in fact...and to soothe me whenever I got an owie...she was a great mama....eating of entire cakes putaside, of course....

"Thank goodness for that... " laughs Bez wryly coming to gather them up for bed. "I remember some of the pranks you used to pull... I'm honestly surprised she had any hair left after dealing with a few of those... " He tucks them into a large basket like arrangement in their room and covers them with a thick white blanket. Looking close at it, Kero can see it made of woven yarn, a white thread that has as iridescent quality to it. Seeing him examine it, Bez nods.
"Em saves every little bit that we brush from her and takes it somewhere. Not sure where... he had this made for the girls last winter. Took over two years worth to gather enough to make it. They also have matching hats and mittens for the cold. Doesn't get too bad here, but there days when it gets a mite chilly. He won't make sweaters for them though. Says they'd outgrow them far too soon, so this year they get scarves. He claims it will help keep her in their hearts... I hope he is right. They are growing so quickly... not as fast as real lions, true, but in the light of how old their mother and I am... it's like a blink..."
He leads the way back into the living room and plops down on the couch. "He's also made me make this place more homey... though how a dragon knows what is homey and what isn't, I have no idea... He doesn't speak of his past much and Ai never told me much about it either... is it true he is your real life brother... not just someone you've grown very close to?"
