Tam decides to settle his nervousness a bit. "Brother Mica is one of the younger brothers at the temple right now. He arrived just last year, but already the children of the village look up to him. He's fair and understanding, but he expects ye to apply yerself and to be respectful at all times, at least while in the temple. He's been known to pair the older smarter kids with those who need help, which means ye'll probably be asked to help some of the littles with their writing and such."

He sighs and cleans his mouth with a napkin. "I would teach ye meself, but my math is rusty at the best of times; also this is one way to integrate ye into the life of the village. Children can be cruel without meaning to be, especially iffin they think yer getting above yerself. Iffin ye have to do much the same as they, they accept ye far better than if ye don't. Right now yer something new and interesting. Everyone wants to be yer friend. But iffin they seen you as getting privileges they don't have or not getting lessons, those friends just might disappear for many numerous reasons. One they may feel yer too good for them which is the worse case scenario. Two they may feel yer someone important and above them on the social ladder, as a noble would be. Or three, they may be worried they are not good enough for ye. All three are rectifiable, but iffin I were ye, I'd not want to have to face any of that, right?"

As the evening moves on, going by so slowly for Kerobian, that when Tam finally does send him to be, rather early at that, he feels as though it is abnormally late at night. The clock on the wall tells a different story though. Tam understands, though, and doesn't push him anymore than he needs to. Kero has always had difficulties adjusting to a new routine and this would be the pinnacle of one of the more intense changes yet. He merely reminds the cub to clean up and gives him a hug and kiss, sending him to his room with a gentle love pat to the rear.

Tam gives him a wink and smiles mischievously. "With such a cute tush, how can I refuse... mayhaps I am merely storing them up for when ye do do something which deserves a sound whopping."

Tam sighs, losing interest in the banter. "Against the first bad report I receive from the temple..." he retorts with a sigh, "what else?" He points to the bed room and ushers the cub to bed. "Ye/ve a big day tomorrow... now off with ye."

Tam blushes beet red and shoos Kero to his room. He locks the doors and windows and climbs up to his room and out onto the roof... the evening is still young and he feels safe and secure. He listens for sounds from below and waits until he is certain Kero is in bed, then summons Hopian.

Tam, laughing, holds up his hands to ward off the lion's glare. "I only wanted to tell ye we're settling down. I'm through with running, Hopian. Not sure what this means or how things will work out, but I'm putting Kero in the care of the Lathander order, for now at least. So he will be safe at least. When they agree to shield, they do so with vigor. Of course he knows nothing of this. He believes he will be getting lessons, and so he will. I just wanted him to be safe... and as such I wanted ye to know what is going down. The vial ye'd need if things go bad is buried in the garden beneath a stone flecked with mica."

Tam shrugs. "I think I have things under control. He needs this, Hopian. He needs structure and routine right now. Already he is showing signs of returning to that sweet little cub we once knew. Not completely and I truly doubt he ever will. Too many memories are beginning to resurface. So the best I can say is that he is maturing at a fairly enhanced rate. Anyway... I just wanted ye to know, that my mind has been made up. In case something did go wrong. There is an old saying that if smething can g wrong... it will.""

Tam crawls back inside and locks his window. It is warm upstairs that night, so he merely undresses and crashes on his bed. He stares at the ceiling for the longest time before drifting off asleep.
