*Kero tells her of how he had been kidnapped by a green, and how Emnast had called on Shadowmagic to save him*
He was never the same after that...started being mean to me and Stella...and bullying the others...Mama punished him for it...so he started hiding it...then he did the unthinkable...he killed Stella in the night...I tried to stop him, and he promised I was next...he had spent long hours trying to discern how to be a stronger shadowmage...and he found that killing two of his siblings, male and female, would grant him insane power...and so it did...I fostered myself to protect myself from him...and because my parents blamed me for Stella's death...but he still found me and killed me...Hopian had to bring me back...

but how did he learn shadow magic in the first place... who taught him... it's not an easy art to learn... i mean yeah he could have read about it... but it's not an instinctive element to use for golds or coppers... he had to have been taught... besides from what i gather none of ye were very old when he started using it... and books like that should have been very rare in a dragon's enclave... at least in one such as yours... the shadow dragons and the metallic dragons were never on good terms even in the best of times... so even iffin he did read about it... he still needed a teacher...

shia nods sadly... yea i guess yer right... sorry, kero... thanks for what ye've told me... i'm... i'm going to go work in me garden... we've an infestation of some little red beetle that just loves to eat me herbs... right down to the ground....

I haven't finished, child...Nowadays he is evil...but there is still something there...you saw his gallantry towards you...much as I begrudge him it...he deserves a chance to redeem himself...there is still good inside of him, and if that good could be brought out, then Emnast would be a wonderful friend, and a loving mate to whomever he chooses.

as before he hears her singing something that is not quite a lullaby and if he strains his ears he can hear the pipe once again... but it is faint and far away...
she looks up and smiles at him... these plants are the cuttings i brought from home... but something here seems to think they are so delicious... see... and she shows him a small red beetle that is chomping away on a leaf...
