"Very well... ye've gotten better. Not perfect yet, but there is some definite improvement." says Talesian putting down his fork. "Tell ye what. Yesterday was crazy and ye did practice and do yer chores this morning, so why not take yer goodies and go play with yer friends. Don't forget to share not. There should be plenty in the pouch for everyone." he conveniently forget to tell the cub that the sack is enchanted to have at least one more piece for the rest of the day. He wants to see what Kerobian will do with his bounty.

Odd, no matter how much he gives away, the sack is never really empty, depleted yes, but not empty.

And so the afternoon goes, with Kero playing with his friend. Games of "catch the cat" are soon followed by "hide and seek" and "freeze tag", and the afternoon wears on, until everyone is called in by their parents. Tam is setting the table as the cub comes in. He points to the wash stand near the back door and reminds him to wash up, then returns to his tyask. There is the scent of fresh baked bread drifting throughout the cottage and the heavier scent of fried fish.

Tam sends him back to groom before allowing him to come to the table. "One need not come to the table looking like something the cat drug in, even if the cat is dragging and hungry... now make yerself presentable."

Tam frowns but holds his peace for now. He knows that iffin he doesn't break the cat of his swearing habit, the priests of Lathander will. He sets a platter of fried trout in the center of the table and a tub of softened butter beside it. Then he reaches for the bread which he has kept on a warming shelf, near the fire. Two large flagons of milk, round out the meal, one of which he pours into a bowl for the cat.

"Much." says Tam with a big smile. I bought a fish off of someone who had caught far more than they could eat and thought I'd try me hand at cooking. Kind of hard to mess up fried fish and I've always enjoyed making bread. So did you have a good afternoon?"

He sits down and begins to portion out the fish, giving Kero the larger half, and slicing off two thick slices of bread. He goes to dip his knife in the butter and questions Kerobian with an uplifted eyebrow.

Rolling his eyes, the bard begins to nibble the fish off it's bones, dousing the flesh liberally with a yellow citrus fruit he had bartered a fresh loaf of bread for from a neighbor.

"So what did ye do? Anything interesting? Yer classes start tomorrow, by the way. Brother Mica has agreed to let me pay for the first few lessons while he determines just how far along the curve ye are. Actually, ye should do fairly well in his testing. Most of the kids he teaches are there only during the cold months and between harvests. The others are apprenticed out at a young age around here, much as you are apprenticed in a way to me. But their masters do not have as broad an interest in the world they live in as do I."

He pauses to se how his words are affecting the young lion. He wants him confident but not cocky, so he is attempting to encourage him without praising him too highly. Tam actually believes Kero will test out to the private lesson level in all things but math, something he can do but had yet to teach the cub above the basics of addition and subtraction. Math was not exactly Talesian's forte and he only used as much of it as was necessary and no more.
