I heard the people call back... it was obviouse they weren't zombies. Then we heard them call out my name. My dad said, "How do you know my sons name."
I took a better look, I asked, "Kalila.... is that you?"
Damn, she's hot my dad thought perfect for my son
I saw the look in his eyes, and i said, "dad don't even think about it..."
"already have my boy, already have..."
"Hey Kalila, how have you been... I'm guessing that's your brother, but who is that guy with you?"

Kalila squealed happily, but not very loudly. You had to be in a five foot radius to hear her. She had the sudden urge to leap on him, but instead she restrained herself and stepped back a foot. "Yes, it's me!" She said happily instead. She bounced in place with joy as she spoke. "and yes, the short one is my brother. The other one..." She said looking back at Mizuki with a smile and a blush. Sh*t... Mizuki probably wanted this the least... She thought sadly. He didn't want to be around anymore people... "This is Mizuki... A friend of my brother and me. He saved our lives you know..." She said with a grin her blush getting deeper. I'm gonna give myself away! she screamed in her head. She didn't want anyone to know she liked Mizuki so much. That usually led to people teasing her. Even worse was that people loved to tease her, thy told her her reactions were very entertaining.
"Holy crap... No joke?" Nicholas asked scratching the back of his head. "This is your friend Alex...? What a small world." He mumbled the last part to himself. "Is that your dad?" He asked Alex instead of pondering the fact anymore.

After Thomas had put the two daggers in his pockets, one on each side for easy access, he walked through the house, trying to get familiar with his surroundings.
It was then that he found Nina in a fetal position laying on the ground, she was crying a muttering a few words to herself, Thomas couldn't understand these words however. He was having a confilict in his mind, "Should he comfort her?I don't wan't her to feel weird, I just got here, and I don't know how well these people trust me, or if they even like being around me for that matter... I'm one of the only people here... The others just rushed outside for some battle against the infected... Maybe I should do something? No... I better let her resolve this herself, I don't wan't anybody to think that I'm interested in Nina, that would cause even more conflict and hatred, I don't wan't to compete for affection... Just survive, that's your goal Thomas... Survival"
Thomas stood there and watched Nina for a few moments, trying to remain un-noticed. A few minutes later she got out of the fetal position and seemed to be doing better, when she got out of the position, Thomas quickly flew across the corner in attempt to remain un-noticed.
"This is stupid, I need to help..."
Thomas reluctantly wen't back around the corner and entered the room that Nina was having her emotional breakdown in.
Thomas tightened up his shoulders and closed his eyes, as if he was expecting to get hit.
"I'm so sorry! I was listening in on you- I mean, not listening technically but- I could tell that you were upset so I came in here to try to comfort you! Please forgive me for my rudeness!"
Thomas said this so fast, it sounded like he was mashing his words together. He then opened one eye, he stood there motionless, waiting for a response.

"Oh... I forgot you were here..." Nina lied, wiping the remainder of her tears away. She gave Thomas a clumbsy smile. She didn't hear everything he said clearly, but she understood enough to get the gist of it. "T-that's very sweet of you..." She said holding back more tears. It was always hard to speak after crying, it makes you want to start back up. "It seems you're the only sane ones left amongts those... fools..." She whispered the last word. She made it sound like a joke and even smiled, but you could still hear the anger and truth behind her words. After a small pause Nina sobbed once more, but she didn't let one drop of liquid spill from her eyes. "Those b*st*rds better come back... or else!" Nina said bitterly. The threat was empty... she wasn't going to leave her house unless absolutely nessessary. But if they came back and weren't sorry, she was going to yell at them until their eardrums popped. "Thanks for staying..." She said trying to switch her mind from the group that left.

"U-uh no problem." Thomas was stumbling for words in his mind, he was never good at these kinds of situations. He wasn't very good with people in general really.
"Look at what you got yourself into, you didn't want to get involved with these people, but here you are, acting like you're their tissue to blow their nose on. Well... It's too late to go back now, I better help her get back on her feat"
After relizing that there was an awkward silence, Thomas tried to change the subject with small talk.
"So uh, what kind of music do you listen to...?"
"IDIOT! WHAT THE HELL KIND OF SMALL TALK IS THAT?! WAY TO GO! WHAT IF SHE HATES METAL? SHE'S GOING TO THINK YOU'RE SOME FREAK LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE! WAY TO GO YOU BLEW IT"

My dad, who was now right next to kalila and her brother said, "ya im his dad." He put his hand against kalila's forehead and said, "Are you sure your not sick, your face is kind of red."
I thought to myself, Woh, how'd he get up there so fast.
Then my dad bent over and got a better look at kalila, he said, "wow your really pretty. So how do you know alex"

Nina could tell by the way Thomas acted that he wasn't a very good people person. Nina judged from his outfit, that he was either anti-social because he was gothic or that he was a snob. But judging from the way he acted earlier she assumed it was the first one. She smiled broadly and attempted to hold back a laugh. Oh gosh... You could so tell he's uncomfortable. Poor thing. She thought with a mental laugh. Just to mess with him (She was in a much better mood now, thanks to his antics) she looked at him seriously in the eyes.
"I'm VERY in to music." she said standing up and putting her hands on her hip to help her give the image she was trying to give to mess with him. "I like all kinds... The only exception being Country and American Rap." She said narrowing her eyes. "Mostly I like Rock and metal though." She said turning around, giving him her back. She crossed her arms and tried laughed silently. She made sure not to let her body shake with her laugh or give away to Thomas in any other way she was laughing. "What about you...?" she said instead, in a cool, calm tone.

Furrowing his brow, Reshion managed to gather some barbed wire from the store with the help of Crimson.
"Come on. We have to get back to the apartments. Nina is going to be mad when she figures out what I did to her table." He whispered the last part though. He began to walk back to the fire escape, and climbing it, he started to hesitate near the top.
"Meh. Forget it." He said, walking into the bar area.

"How the HELL do you react to something like that? One second she's an emotional wreck, and now she's standing up laughing trying to joke around with me... I mean, it's not like you can't tell by the way I look what kind of music I'm into... Well at least she feels better."
"Uh-uhm, yeah uh...me too. Metal is my favorite. I uh- have an iPod right- here.." Thomas started digging through his backpack looking for his iPod, stumbling around.
"Uh, uhm yeah! Here it is, it's got alot of metal, you can listen to it if you wan't..!"
"This has got to be the most awkward moment of my life! I must look like a total idiot!"

Wanting to keep Thomas and Nina away, Reshion coughed loudly.
"I brought barbed wire for like random trival things we might need." He said, smiling sheepishly. he scratched his head, waiting for the onslaught of profane language that he was bound to hear from Nina.

Kalila jolted as she heard Alex's father's voice right next to her. She turned around and blinked in confusion. "D-david, right? She asked instead of answering his question, an attempt at switching the topic of conversation. Her blush got a little darker. Please don't... It'll be like Neon lights for Mizuki. He'll figure out I like him... She thought sadly. "Th-Thank you!" Kalila said backing her head from Alex's father's touch. Her blush disappeared in a few seconds, but was replaced with a light one of modesty instead of shyness or embarrassment. "Alex is a friend from school. He's a Freshman and I'm a Sophomore... I met him the beginning of the school year." She said in an uncomforable tone. She didn't know why, but this guy made her nervous. Alex said he was a scientist... Maybe he can help us. She thought. Switching the subject again, Kalila looked over at Mizuki. I have to show Mizuki that keeping these guys will benefit us... She thought determined. "Mizuki... This is my friend Alex and his father. They're good people." Kalila said. She didn't know for sure about Alex's dad, she never met him. "Alex collects guns and his dad's a scientist." She said with a sheepish smile, still uncomfortable with Alex's dad invading her personal space. Shementioned these two things to prove their usefulness to him. Please... Please go with it. She thought about Mizuki.

Alex's dad still bent over from where he was looking at kalila, was now looking at mizuki... "Ya that's right im a scientist. so is my wife but she's still in manhattan." Alex's dad noticed how red kalila's face was... he pondered it for a second, then. Wait a second, i know whats going on here. Alex's dad let out his big goofy smile, alex said to himself, "uh-oh, that's never good..."
Alex's dad looked back over at kalila and whispered to her, "you like that boy over there don't you... whatever you called him.. uhh mizuki.. come on you can tell me, i swear i won't tell a soul." His dad leaned away noticing that kalila didn't like that he was so close.
He started getting more seriouse, he started to reload his gun and said, "I know it was probably irrisponcible of me, to let my son collect guns but who's laughing now!" Alex's dad said, shaking his fist, looking straight up thinking he was talking to god or something. He's not right in the head Alex thought sighing. Then alex started walking toward the group.

The last remaining thought of sadness were shattered into tiny little pieces as Thomas spoke. Oh God! I bet he's dying on the inside! She thought laughing hystarically in her mind. She turned around and looked at him seriously. "That's awesome!" Nina said and wasn't able to hold in her laughing anymore. She busted out laughing, hanching over to put her hands on her knees to hold her up. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry." She said between laughs. "I'm just joking... Lighten up kid." She said wiping a tear from her eye, but this time they were tears from laughter. Nina called everyone kid, even if they were older than her, it was part of her joking nature. "It's cool kid... Really, don't worry about it." She said finally gaining composure.
Just as she was completely happy, her happiness was shattered by Reshion climbing back into her room through the fire-escape. Are grin turned into a glare and her lips were set in a straight line. "What the f*ck are you doing back you b*st*rd?!" She yelled at him. "Everything was fine in this house before you got here." She said coldly. She was upset to see the first one who walked in was Reshion. She had wanted it to be Garath, so she wouldn't get too angry. Or at least Crimson, so she would be completely upset. Reshion was the last one she wanted to see. "Everyone listened to my plans! Everyone stayed away from the outside so we wouldn't even have a chance of getting infected! Everyone else reacted after thinking things through! No one busted their way out just because they're a little upset because of some relationship drama!" She yelled him, banging her fist on her desk. "No one destroyed my home!" She yelled pointing at her table. Tears flowing back to her eyes. "And just because you had a little fight with your girlfriend!? Shouldn't you be closer and love her better during this hell!?" She said turning her back to him seriously, unlike the way she was with Thomas. "And it's because of you that Garath... and Crimson left! To help an unworthy person like you!" She screamed the last part. She was letting her anger get the best of her. But she didn't care, she needed to take this pent up frustration out on someone. Reshion was the perfect candidate. "******** @$$hole..." She mumbled, barely audible. She turned to Thomas and smiled through her tears. "Now what were you saying?" She asked. She didn't want him to feel forgotten.
Back on top of the building away from Nina's house Kalila took another step back as David bent in towards her. "We are in Manhatten..." She mumbled slightly confused. "You mean the rich part of Manhatten?" She asked shly. As David questioned her her blush rekindled and her face burned once more with the familiar feeling of blood rushing to it. "No no no..." she whispered. It was too obvious it was a lie, but she didn't trust David's father with such information. Heck, I don't even trust Nicholas with that information, How am I gonna trust this fellow!? She thought looking from Mizuki to the scientist. He seemed like a big mouth who couldn't keep a secret to sae his life. He finally moved away from her and Kalila let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
"This guy's really dramatic..." Nicholas whispered to his sister. This whole situation was really weird to him. These two... no scratch that... David just completely put me at ease with this situation. This sucks! Nicholas thought and yelled the last part in his head. If we somehow get attacted by something right now, though I highly doubt since we are on rooftop, but anyways if we WERE... Me and Kalila are so not ready, though Mizuki might be. I can just tell by looking at her. She's too embarrassed to even speak correctly... He said with a mental sigh. "So... How did you guys get here... Or find us. Or how about this... Why are you guys even out?" Nicholas said, directing it more towards Alex since David seemed to be a slight dramaking.
