Well, this is a bit different for me. it's not that I liked anime or manga..
It was more like a series of events that brought me into it. experementing with my best friend (boy) and realized i was gay. Not bi. Girls are pretty, but.. Breats scare me. ^^; there's something about a hot tight body that gets my blood hot.
A few friends liked anime, I watched them, but there always stright chracters. Figured I'd check and see if there were anime/ manga out there that leaned towards the same sex relationships.. which opened my intrest for 'yaoi' i suppose. but realy I don't watch anime or read manga too much, I do like to RP though. Started off RPing IRL with friends sitting around dice (yes, lol like geeks) then a girlfriend of mine introduced me to Gaia and been on it since jan 2005 (account was banned) lol. Made friends and love RPing on web baised fourms.

Hurr. xD I remember that I first ran into yaoi/shounen-ai my freshman year, but I ignored it. It didn't bother me, but I didn't care for it either-it was just there. Probably because I never saw any of it.

Then my sophomore year it came up in two classes, my Latin II and Environmental Systems classes. My friend in ES is bi and he brought Lost Boys to school with him one day and was reading it and a friend in my Latin class would bring in some yaoi, but the rest of the Latin students in that class wouldn't let me look at it because I was still their little freshman. Not nice. ;-; So my bi friend introduced me to it, I saw more provocative images and thought it was pretty weird and a little embarassing to look at(lol it made my face burn come to think of it xD) so I tried not to pay any attention to it after that.

BUT last year, towards the end of my junior year I suddenly decided that for a roleplay I'd take my favorite OC, Duncan, and use him as a virgin sacrifice in a satanic cult ritual(I like seeing bad things happen to my innocent/naive characters. ><; ) and made him the devil's b***h/slave, to be passed around for the rest of hell to use as well.

And that's when I went looking for more yaoi pictures and then this summer got into some roleplays. After about a month of that I finally went and bought some manga, and now the only anime or manga I have any interest in reading or watching HAVE to be yaoi or shounen-ai. xD So much money gone into my new obsession. ;-; Wish I had more of it. xD

Right now my favorites are FAKE and Vassalord. <3 FAKE was the first one I fell in love with, and I'm only on the third volume. -can't find the next one- They both make me laugh so hard. xD

Oh gosh, it was one of my friends. She was all like "read this manga." (It was Suzaku/Lelouch lol) And i did.


It was love at first sight.... heart


But yeah. I think that if i had been introduced to it earlier, i would have liked it so much sooner.

Unfortunately, my nine year old brother read one with me. And it was not a particularly clean one lol. Dalc Roses' are usually rather perverted. (though my fav, She's (I'm only guessing it's a girl) a great doujin artist)

I feel a bit bad for him being so young, but...he has always tried to be just like his older sister XD

I am not altogether sure how I first found teh gloriousness of yaoi since I was 14 at the time. I believe I was on fanfiction.net and found it out! x3 And I have been a faithful follower ever since.

for me I found out about it when I first got obsessed with a lot of different types of anime. I stumbled upon random ones that were shonen-ai and yaoi. a couple major ones were loveless and Gravitation. My friend had many yaoi oneshot mangas . I started reading em. This was in my second year of highschool. I liked anime since elementry grades but highschool is when I reached obsession level with cons and cosplay whatnot.
at cons I found more yaoi and cosplayers making out and I was like...heck yeah! yaoi paddle me! lol *shrugs- You can say I weined myself to love it.
