Over the course of training... disturbing noises could be heard from the other side of the academy building, so loud the shouts were. Crazy shinobi weren't the norm, but they also weren't unheard of. Still, Kagerou told Emi to, "Keep up the good work. I'll be back after I make sure nothing wrong is with the shouting," and then excused herself.
She crossed through the academy building, and the caught her first glimpse of the masked... bartender(?) through one of the academy windows. He was... certainly vigorous. She got to see the last few routines of his training regimen, his shouts and... wildly grieving(?) movements giving him away as the culprit of the animal-like howls earlier. Kagerou watched in mild and collected confusion, but when he appeared to be able to hold a normal conversation with another who approached him, Kagerou guessed it was about the sword that she of course recognized, she figured he was alright. They left the training grounds shortly after, and while Kagerou didn't follow, she took care to remember the face and the voice, or the shouts of his voice that she had heard earlier, for a conversation at a later time. After all, he held the legacy of Mist in his hands. How could she not be interested?
On her way to Emi, Kagerou had returned several scrolls and picked up several new ones. Needless to say, between the various education materials she held and her age, Kagerou could understand why someone would mistake her to be an academy teacher. Least... she assumed the demand from this tiny lass originated from the misunderstanding that she was an academy teacher.
Kagerou took it in stride with a shrug and, as usual, a smile. "Sure, but I'm a tough teacher, okay?". She still had an hour or so she could spare. Granted, she was going to use that hour to take a break before going to dinner and then the hospital for the rest of the night, but she'd manage like she always did. "But before anything, raise your head. I'm Kagerou Kiritani. Feel free to call me whatever you want. Could you introduce yourself to me?".

[Hodan-Ichiba - The Shop]
Trèfles Cœur He'd introduce himself with a bow in line with Hiryu's lack of knowing his name. The name when he pronounced it sounded like Tr-eh-fl-eh Ca-where very closely sounding to the word queer and pronounced as though one were curious about saying said word. In short, it definitely drove the nail in the coffin that the man was foreign. He'd then clap his hands like a marimba dancer as the trio of puppets began to move. The larger one and the one with the spy glass would head to the second floor. The one with the rice paddy hat produced a set of calipers and began to measure the length of Hiryu's sword. The man himself would turn around and begin rummaging through a shelf of things.
"Ah I see, I assume because I held said blades that you assumed that I also came from said village non? I do hate to disappoint but that is not the case bon. I received the blades for my service to Arashigakure from the twin kage bon. Ohoho. Here we are." The man had apparently found what he'd been looking for it seemed to be some form of device he placed on the counter where at the push of a button a red conical light scanned Hiryu's blade from top to bottom. What it did was uncertain but is displayed a number. The masked man would turn the device to review the number and place a finger beneath his chin but didn't say anything before putting the device away. The puppet then supplied the man with some papers with various numbers.
"True, they may seem expensive now, but I'm certain with enough time dedicating yourself to the village you will have more wealth than you'll know what to do with for such occasions bon." Refitting his gloves he'd put the device away and wave off the robot with a rice paddy hat who gave a nod of affirmation before leaving. The masked man would then start looking at the number sheet it provided. "Quite the heavy weapon you have there, a sign that the person carrying it must be aptly strong to carry it. Unfortunately, it's something I can't personally improve upon jes. That metal seems rather unique, I would need a very specific type of gelel that likely wouldn't be found here in Arashigakure's mountains until perhaps the colder season. Taking I personally don't have a personal affinity the elemental combination of ice. bon. Tis still quite a weapon. Ah, yes, but if you've no interest in the commercial exchange. Have you any other quandry?" Seemed the masked fellow was more a merchant that anything with his head firmly locked like a steel trap around the concept. It was beyond him that someone would ever want to engage in conversation with the foreigner himself.
Hīryu listened as the man explained ge wasn't from the village, which Hīryu should have guessed given the lack of a headband, though the mask must have thrown him off. Hīryu was actually happy to have the conversation. Even though the man was from somewhere else, Hīryu found that he was one of the few in the village who wasn't a pompous a**. On top of that, the man who indentified himself as Trefles seemed to be a skilled weaponsmith, as well as a thrifty clerk. His words gave Hīryu hope, a small feeling that this village may not be as worthless as he thought. With a soft smile, Hīryu bowed.
"I appreciate the kind words, Mr. Trefles." Hīryu said as he raised back up. "I may not be able to buy any of your wares currently, but if it's like you say, then I should be back here soon enough. I did, however, have a question for you, if you have the time, that is. You obviously know a lot about weaponry, especially since you have that gadget. And given that you're the owner of one of the legendary swords, I was hoping you could give me some pointers. I'm still decently new to the village, and you're one of the few people I've found it pleasant to talk to. Also, what is a gelal stone?"
Hīryu lifted his greatsword and rested it on his shoulder, the weight of the blade seeming to have no effect on him. Hīryu offered Trefles another warm smile, hoping that the Frenchman wouldn't be put off by his continued lingering.
"You're too kind monsieur, were you of the age to drink I would offer a glass bon." He would bow politely once more at the younger individuals compliments. "Ah, I see well, what pointers I can give is simply to not give up. The art of craftsmanship is tedium bon. One could say it came naturally to myself like the eyes of an Uchiha bon and in that natural talent through heavy ordeals and commitment does one's talent become refined. Although I have had the benefit of several years of travel." Looking up to the second floor when Hiryu imposed his inquiry about Gelel the masked man would speak as though instilling an order. "Saza! Gelel s'il vous plaît!" from the second floor a blue stone seemed to jettison out a room as though it had been thrown the bartender catching it between his two gloved fingers and placing it on the counter. "This is gelel bon. Back when it was it's most prominent it was said it could level nations. Ah, however, time has made it loose some of that luster as the ore has spread and is now less condensed than it once was. While still quite difficult to find the ore functions as conduits for chakra. This one here as you can see has collected the natural chakra of lightning." The tiny blue stone had many flowing blue tendrils swirling like chakra does it also vibrated an in its semi-opaque sheen tiny bolts of lightning seemed to be firing inside. "I used much of said very gelel to craft the gifts I imparted to the twin kage and as power sources for my puppet models. Bon. It is a difficult material to work with. Poor handling could risk quite the fair share of injuries." The frenchman removed one of his gloves to reveal that it had accrued quite a fair share of scars and burns before sliding it back on. "Speaking from experience jes."
"You will find the world has many materials should you know where to look some basic such as iron and others deemed legendarily rare finds like gelel which can be more difficult to find than even diamonds bon but none of it can be found without gettings one's hands dirty hoho. Ah, but if that is all." Suddenly the shop started to shake and in one large what seemed like an explosion of smoke it was gone and both the man Hiryu were standing once more on the flatlands of the academy and in his hands was the box from earlier which then later dissppeared as well in a puff of smoke in his gloved hand. "Twas quite the pleasant conversation monsieur Hiryu of the mist bon. If you've any need of my services or further requests do not hesitate to ask. At the hours of 6 a.m to 5 p.m you will often find me in the gust districts. In the late hours, or during my down time I work at the mini-bar located at a restaurant known as Ika-Shokuji." Another dignified bow before standing upright once more.
Hīryu looked Trefles up and down once more, and as the shop disappeared, he thought for a second. "This guy isn't so bad. A free merchat. And he knows his armorments. All right, that seals it." Hīryu refocused on Trefles, not realizing he had missed some of what he said. Smiling with his eyes closed, Hīryu tilted his head.
"I've decided, Trefles. I like you. From this day on, you're my friend." Hīryu said, cracking a rare smile.
Opening his eyes, Hīryu wondered what the Frenchman thought. His mask made it awfully dificult to read any emotion.
"I've learned a lot from you. But, I've got some more training to finish up. I know you're not from the village, but I hope we cross paths again. Treat those swords well!" Hīryu said as he began to walk away, one arm aloft in farewell.
He liked Trefles. There was something about him that was unlike the others he'd met. He wasn't from the village, which meant the people he'd met were all idiots. Trying not to let the negative thoughts persist, Hīryu shook his head and focused instead on the positive; he had made a friend, and he got a lot of his training done. In the immortal words of Ice Cube, Today was a good day.
Haruko stood up, looking wide-eyed at Kagerou. Could it really be true? Could someone actually be teaching people at the Academy other than that creepy half squid guy that said 'bloop' every other sentence? Haruko's eyes began to brim with tears of joy now that there was a normal person here besides herself. Haruko quickly dropped to the ground and sat crossed legged in front of Kagerou.
As commanded, she raised her hand before speaking, which seemed a little odd, but who was she to question her new sensei. "Greetings seemingly normal Sensei person. My name is Haruko Senju and I want to be the next Arashikage. I'm also the top ninja in the village. That's all mostly true except the ninja stuff and the Arashikage stuff." Once she was done talking, Haruko lowered her arm back to her side. It felt weird to have to use her arm to talk but it probably made it easier for sensei to figure out whose turn it was to talk.

Between suddenly sitting on the floor of the hallway and giving then taking back boasts, Haruko certainly gave quite the first impression, or would this be the second now and the first was her blunt demand to be taught? "Er… stand up. Stand up," Kagerou only looked slightly flustered at Haruko's surprise seat. Entertainment was far more present in her twinkling red eyes, "There's another academy student I'm teaching outside, so let's go train with her, okay?". The older kunoichi shifted the load of scrolls she held in her arms so she could hold her hand out and off Haruko help with standing up.
Skipping all the boring parts about Haruko standing up and the two of them walking and talking and getting situated in the training area. Emiru was, presumably, still here, working on her water walking over the outdoor pool that stood out as the most defining feature of this section of the training grounds.
It appeared Haruko was going to be spared the "tough" training by Kagerou; ie, her boring and gray textbook lectures. All she needed assistance in now was medical, which was the one area Kagerou could teach like a normal, self-respecting teacher. An early academy start in the medical arts was admirable. Kagerou had spent an extra year in academy to make sure she had a solid understanding of eiseijutsu. However, she knew that she was the odd one out in that aspect, and most students preferred to graduate first and then learn eiseijutsu later as an interning genin. Really, it was the most efficient approach.
Kagerou rustled through the papers she had borrowed, some of them borrowed from the library and others "borrowed" from the teacher's lounge, until she found what she was looking for. One look at the "academy exam," though, and her face quickly showed a respectful, and still smiling, disagreement. Sure, it tested all the appropriate fundamentals, but stuff like that was better off shown then written. Let's see… a written exam should be about… information and situations that would be difficulty to simulate for practical training. Then considering Haruko's specific circumstances, Kagerou felt that a different set of questions was more appropriate for the aspirations, goals, and personality this child has shown so far.
"Alright Haruko, it appears you're ready for your academy exit exams. I'll be giving you a verbal exam followed shortly by a practical exam." Kagerou gave Haruka a once over. She didn't need to ask if the young child was ready. The medic to be was basically exploding with readiness. "If you have any questions about the questions I'm asking, please feel free to ask. So the first problem," and in Kagerou's opinion the most important, "will be a simple one. I simply want to know what you will do in the following situation. The village is under attack by an unknown enemy. You find yourself alone and facing a hostile several ranks higher than you. What do you do?".

Making his way toward and subsequently inside the actual academy building, Hīryu decided he would read some books, learn a bit more about the village he now called home. Striding over to a bookshelf along a wall, Hīryu scanned the titles until he found something that caught his eye. "'A Brief History of Arashigakure.' That looks good. Short and to the point." Taking the book, Hīryu walked over to a table, pulled out a chair, and sat down. Opening the book, Hīryu began to read, skimming the more dry bits. It wasn't a bad book, but the writer seemed to suffer from a minute vernacular. In any case, Hīryu kept reading.
As he continued scanning the pages of the book, one particular bit caught his eye while reading about the UHV; the page mentioned someone by the name of Belamos. He had definitely heard that name before, but he couldn't place it... Then it hit him. Quickly scanning the following pages, he found what he was looking for. His hunch had been right, Belamos was a hero of the Storm for his brave actions fighting against the UHV. Sudden inspiration hit Hīryu like a truck. Who better to learn from and get stronger than the Hero of Arashi? Reading what he had just skimmed over, Hīryu discovered that Belamos was still living in the village, at least accirding to the book.
"So I just have to find this Belamos guy... That shouldn't be too difficult. Such a prestigious shinobi should be easy enough to find." Hīryu said aloud to himself.
Standing up, Hīryu closed the book and walked it back over to the bookcase. After returning his literature, Hīryu headed for the exit, determined to find Belamos and ask him to train under him for a little while.
Could all of her dreams be coming true this quickly? Not only had this lady agreed to teach her, but she was also going to actually give her a real exam right away without some lengthy exposition or background plot development first. Internally, Haruko was jumping up and down, pumping her fist into the air in pure joy.
Somehow, they magically ended up outside in the training area together, presumably through some kind of magical plot convenience. Once they had arrived, Kagerou seemed ready to jump right into the exam, but only asked one question to start with. Haruko assumed that meant it was supposed to be some kind of important, pass or fail question. She began scratching her head with her finger, trying to puzzle out what kind of answer they would want.
"How come this question seems like a trick question, Kago-sensei? I feel like, there is a really obvious answer, but I don't want to say it because maybe the obvious answer is wrong and I need to look deeper and do more critical thinking and stuff." Once again, while she was speaking, Haruko raised her hand in the air. She started to lower it for a moment before raising it back into the air. "But then again, maybe there is more than one right way to answer this. It's almost like the other day, I was thinking about how people open a banana, and see, most people go right for the top where the stem is and try to break it open that way, but you can also flip it upside down and pinch the bottom of the banana and open it that way and use the stem that was at the top to hold it really neatly. I guess, both ways still let you enjoy it and neither way is really wrong. It's just up to the person's choice and both groups of people don't even really know the other way of opening a banana exists. So, if I think about answering the question that way, my own personal choice would be to make a clone to distract the person and then run and find someone to help." Haruko lowered her hand finally and gave a sideways shrug to Kagerou, hoping that was at least somewhat close to the answer she was hoping to hear.
Arashigakure | Academy | E Rank▐ Chakra: 100 | Stamina: 100 ▐ AC: 5800 | Ryo: 000 ▐ Mood: Tired of waiting for actual Village Leadership | Theme▐
A placid, neutral smile was all Haruko would receive as she thought through and then answered the question. This was a trick question, in a way. Nearly anything would be acceptable as an answer, though Kagerou had preferences, so long as it was explained appropriately.
Though, there was one thing Kagerou did say, slipping it in between the very short pauses between Haruko's words. "You don't need to raise your hand." The unsaid, "It's okay. It's not necessary," could be felt through the gentle intonation of Kagerou's speech as she stood, posture straight but relaxed and hands tucked into the sleeves of her kimono.
When the time came for her to deliver judgment, Kagerou followed Haruka's flow. "Correct. Both ways of opening a banana are valid. Personally, I generally prefer to open the banana from the bottom, there's less chance that I'll bruise it while opening, but there are times when I don't want to get my fingernails dirty with picking off the bottom end of the banana or I don't want to bite it and spit it out, so even before I look at others, both ways are right answers for me. Top, bottom, or switch, it depends on circumstances.
"Though, I think in this case, your answer, prioritize escape while employing tactics, even simple ones, to increase your objective, is the best. Yes, as an academy student and a new genin, possibly even all the way up to chuunin, your priorities are to learn, grow, and of course enjoy youth, mhm~ Of course, to do all that, you need to live, so leave the sacrifices and the defending to us old adults who've chosen this path. Give your all to protect what you believe in, but always keep yourself safe. That's the best way you can help your village."
That was long-winded, but Kagerou thought a lot, and this was a time when she wanted to lay bare everything that she thought. Whether or not this lesson would stick was beyond her. Haruko will likely get another teacher once she graduated, someone who would be the real influence on her, but Kagerou could hope.
In the meantime, "Now, for the next questions. I want you to answer these to the best of your abilities. It's okay if you don't know if your answer is up to date. 1) Briefly describe to me the formation of Arashigakure. 2) Who is our Arashikage, Chief of Police, and, since this is your field of expertise, our most skilled eiseijutsu specialist? 3) What is the name of Arashigakure's secret services? 4) Name the other major shinobi power that was formed around the same time as Arashigakure. 5) Name the leader of that power."
Whether or not these were appropriate questions for an academy student in this day and age, Kagerou thought they were. However, as evidenced earlier, Kagerou often overshot the mark, a fault that she was aware of even though it didn't show a flick in her unfaltering, composed smile. Hoping to reassure, Kagerou added one last thing before giving the floor to Haruko, "We're almost there. After you answer these questions, I'll just ask you one more and then we can move on to the practical portion of the exam." Her eyes flicked over to where Emiru was diligently working, betraying her hopeful thoughts.

The frenchman would sigh before dusting himself off of dust from his earlier escapades once more. Nice boy, although the concept of being friends with someone so much younger than himself was a bit strange, the last thing he needed was the added stigma that his employer had with being labeled a perverse scoundrel when it couldn't be further from the truth...well honestly even Trefles had some doubts. While on the academia's grounds it would likely prove best that he brush up and review on a few core concepts he'd been neglecting. If he did truly have intentions to travel again he'd need to take the appropriate refresher courses. First a basic review of sealing and releasing. Kaifu and Funyu as ninja liked to call it. As his father referred to it, the techniques were called ouvrir and fermer. Open and close. Which honestly wasn't too far from the concept root of the techniques. Nextly was the combination of techniques his father was fond of doing. In short innovation in its rawest form. Although none of the concepts came off as any more difficult that they were when he learned them then. Still making his fellows do all the work back at the workshop was proving to be rather ingenuine of him. Remembered: Kaifu/Funyu: D-A Korabo: D-A
Evidently while the frenchman was reviewing this content he was listening in on what sounded like an exam for would be shinobi. All in all it was intriguing to hear as he perused the various scrolls for review. Still he never did have the interest in being a shinobi. Individuals indentured solely to the village alone as its protectors sounded it gave very little means in the regard to freedom of being a mobile tradesman. More review about the necessary techniques for a tradesperson as he closed it and opened a scroll containing wind and lightning techniques. It piqued a little curiosity but as a worker he saw little need for these techniques. Perhaps if an occasion arose that such destructive methods were neccessary would he reconsider. The masked man would stick around long enough to hear the answers to these questions which would likely prove beneficial to his business career. Remembered: Kuchiyose: D-A
Moving onto the next technique, Kagerou demonstrated the bunshin technique to the learning student, Emiru watching the movements and such that her teacher was making before a clone of herself appeared in a puff of smoke. She was fairly interested what she could do of it and watched as it exploded in another plume of smoke the moment that Kagerou smacked it. the girl went to try herself, making a few hand seals at a slow pace until she felt comfortable enough to do it fast. Once that was done, a clone of herself appeared beside her. Both Emirus looked at one another before they would each smile and high five, the clone disappearing as they did so. She spun around to face Kagerou, that smile on her face growing a bit more.
[ Bunshin no Jutsu | Rank E Learned ]
With a nod of the head, the woman would move one, displaying another technique to her student. This technique wasn't really anything special. A simple substitution technique would be performed for her, switching places with another object nearby. When it was time for her to perform this, Emi looked at a nearby chair and would focus on it for a moment, practicing the seals at a slow pace and then executing them when it came time for it. In an instant, she was at the location that the chair had been and vice versa. "Oh...I guess I did it." She said.
[ Kawarimi | Rank E Learned ]
Up next was walking on the trunk of the tree that they had met under. She held her arms up and concentrated on condensing the chakra towards her feet and trying to scale the tree. The first couple of tries were met with failure, as Emiru plunged down to the ground or ended up falling on her back some. Still, each time only strengthened her resolve. At the fifth time, she had managed to control her chakra circulation enough to maintain her balance on the tree and gave a thumbs up to Kagerou.
[ Art of Walking on Walls | Rank D Learned ]
The next jutsu was like the previous but on water as opposed to a tree. Emiru gave the woman a worried stare before than soon doing what she had done for the first technique. Forcing her chakra circulation to pump more of it towards her feet, Emiru took a step on the water...and didn't go through. Looking down at her feet above the water, she smiled and displayed herself for Kagerou to see though she was gone by that point.
[ Art of Walking on Water | Rank D Learned ]
Just as she walked off of the water, Kagerou returned with another girl, presumably a student. Upon noticing her, the white haired girl became more visibly shaken. Would Haruka think she was weird? Everyone else did. Her mismatched eyes looked over at Kagerou in a worried look but trusted her judgement.

A mining hat wearing Toso with a pickaxe slung over his shoulder appeared from what seemed to be a door that manifested out of nowhere in front of Kagerou and the kiddos. "Ah guess I'm interrupting." It seemed that this wasn't going to be one of those easy tests. Haruko's hopes of finishing this test really quickly were dashed in an instant. Not only did a series of questions appear but she was also informed that there would be some kind of a practical exercise now. This day just seemed to get getting longer and longer as time went on. After a lengthy internal debate about how long it would take to swap career fields and become a professional roadside bum, Haruko decided it was probably for the best if she just answered the questions.
"Uh, Arashigakure was founded by refugees from Kirigakure following the great conflict with the UHV. The next one is a trick question, it should be Arashikages with an S. Jay and Jeon. The Chief of Police is probably some angry old man that yells at kids to get off his lawn. I'm pretty sure you are the best medic here. Our secret service is called CORE, which isn't very secret if we all know its called CORE. You'd think that a secret organization would try to be a little more secret. The other major village currently is Uzushiogakure. Their leader is Sanae, the mighty turtle sage." As to be expected, the questions were exceedingly boring. It did seem like the other student was finishing up with the jutsu that Kagerou had been teaching them. for some reason, she seemed visibly shaken and worried.
"Hello terrified person. You can call me Haruko or if its easier, Haru." Just as she was about to finish speaking a doorway opened in front of the group and a familiar sound could be heard. Bloop? Haruko thought to herself. It couldn't be, could it!? Her fears were realized when a squid pretending to be a man pretending to be a miner stepped out of the portal. It seemed to look confused, as it should have been, since dry land wasn't a squid's natural habitat after all. Just as he started to step back through the doorway, Haruko reached into her pocket, pulling out the only weapons needed to combat a squid: chopsticks and soy sauce.
"Come back here you salt water delicacy!" She yelled as she lunged at the closing doorway, slamming onto the ground as it finally closed. She stood up dusting herself off and shook her fist at the space where the door had been. "I WILL FIND YOU!"

tab "Ah did someone want something? bloop?" the minute Haruko stood up the door would swing open with an exhumerable of force equal to well...a door being opened really fast. Of course what with Haruko having been infront of the door the squids return could have been a little...unexpected. The whole thing happened incredibly fast.
