She wasn't sure how they could attack this guy - Saiko, Takao had identified - if the man could passively eat up techniques that got too close. She wasn't sure how it was possible, either. She couldn't master sensory so she would have to be satisfied with guesses. She dodged the statue's ball by turning herself into water [ ▰ Water Replacement [ Mizu Kawarimi ] | Rank B ]. Then she reverted back to human form as the larger fire ball loomed over her. As the fire ball neared, she turned on her heels as water generated in her palm, hitting the technique but not stopping it [ ▰ Water Dragon Whip [ Suiryuuben ] | Rank S+ ]. As it extinguished, she caught her breath. She needed to think. This Saiko was a Jashinist - probably a good one, meaning he'd certainly be immortal - and he could passively eat chakra. Or could he? Perhaps he had an ally that was remarkably quick. She needed sensory information to be certain, and she knew for a fact that Thresher wasn't capable of such a thing. "Thresher, we need a plan!"

With a point to Saiko from Freya he'd be chosen as the white tiger's target. Her target chosen Saiko released several orbs of flames. Her Sharingan already on top of the situation. It stung like hell but it wasn’t something the sharkgirl couldn’t handle. But by the time she’d recovered from the boulder, the enemy had sent a giant fireball her way! Thresher just had the time to make a single sign before disappearing in a splash of water. [Shunshin]
Thresh reappeared next to Miyuki just as the artist mentioned needing a plan. “I’m working on one, babe.” Her voice came out as a growl, but only because of her instincts and the combat. Thresher’s mind was racing. Strategy wasn’t exactly her strong suit, though she had started to pick up on it through Oinin training. As the woman with the cats got people evacuated, Thresher hurried to work on some kind of strategy. Unfortunately she had no access to sensory jutsus, and what she did have she didn’t want to waste. But desperate times and desperate measures. Thresher closed her eyes and pulled from the chakra in the area, bringing it into herself. This resulted in a transformation in her body, her hulking frame becoming more lithe. When she opened her eyes, they were glowing with the light of the sea. [Hoshigaki Sage Mode] It was here that Thresher’s already strong senses became sharper, allowing her to sense the fighting all throughout Arashi. “This ain’t even th’ only one.”v She growled, glaring daggers at Saiko.
Thresher reached out to squeeze Miyuki’s hand before taking a step to place herself between the brunette and the target. “I’ll rush in an’ fight ‘em, you try t’ keep an’ eye out fer anythin’ funny. With a yell, Thresher rushed forward, once again closing the distance to Saiko. She wouldn’t budge from him, not this time. The sharkgirl swung the massive weapon at the man, attempting to slice into him with the axe. With the ax portion of the weapon is held directly before the user while the hammer is held at eye level in the off hand. Any bladed bukijutsu technique or Kabutowari technique may be executed from this stance. Techniques executed from this stance that grant reductions to endurance are doubled.

Takao hated the man's silence. He threw another beast ball attack at the statue's spherical attacks [ ▰ Tailed Beast Ball [ Bijuudama ] | Rank S ]. He tried to redirect his position in the air given his proximity to Saiko because he wanted to avoid the sword rain coming above from someone's technique. However, he put himself backwards without being properly attentive and the wood hands claimed him. "NO!" He tried to push against the wooden hands as they drained chakra from him, making him nauseated. He felt slow and weak. He couldn't see outside and himself and Chomei panicked in equal measures, the claustrophobic bijuu adding to the stress of the situation.
'We need to get out of here, Chomei advised. "No s**t!" Takao pressed against the wooden hands contained him but nothing budged. He couldn't see the foo dog pillars outside of the hands, draining him of a large amount of demonic chakra. Suddenly, he felt his grasp on Chomei's power loosen, and his tailed beast cloak retracted slightly [ Cloak II ]. What ability was this to reduce his connection to his bijuu?
"Ch-chomei, I don't know what to do," he said as his voice shook within the wooden palms. He contorted to continue pushing against it, but he didn't have enough room to craft any of the jutsu coming to mind without roasting himself. Having control wrenched from him so completely was making the air in the wooden hands feel thin. He couldn't catch his breath and Chomei's panicked internal fluttering wasn't helping.
Used: 1) ▰ Tailed Beast Ball [ Bijuudama ] | Rank S The user concentrates on a focal point, commonly charged within the mouth of a transformed bijuu and hovering before the jinchuriki's hands when in that form. The concentration of demon chakra melds with the user's own chakra as both of them pay half the cost of this technique, forming an orb of black chakra that is between the size of a baseball to the size of a basket ball. This orb is then fired as a projectile, traveling in a straight line until making contact with a surface. Upon impact or command of the user the projectile detonates, creating a concussive blast of chakra that obliterates anything within a one hundred foot spherical radius of it's impact zone, obliterating non-chakra based structures, negating all armors, treating all techniques as two ranks lower for collisions while causing tier four trauma. Additionally, the concussive blast sends foes flying fifty feet past it's initial blast radius. After the debris settles, the hundred foot wide and fifty foot deep crater is visible from the attack's sheer force.

The shinobi of Arashi certainly weren’t weak. That was a given fact from what they had managed to accomplish so far in this battle. They would make for good sacrifices another day, but Saiko’s focus immediately needed to change direction once again as Takao was captured by his wooden hands. The man truly hadn’t expected the jinchuriki to be captured by the technique. Perhaps Jashin was looking down upon him this day and helping him. However, he surely didn’t go down without a fight, the bijuu ball flying straight at him made Saiko aware of that fact. Saiko’s chakra materialization absorbed that first strike as he began to move from his firm spot he had taken, toward Takao. In Saiko’s head, he began the various prayers that Takumi had taught him.
The other shinobi in the area however, were still there regardless of Saiko wanting that to be the case or not, so they had to be dealt with. The blades falling from the skies was something that should be dealt with immediately given Saiko now also had to defend Takao. Saiko made a single handseal before black crystal flowers began to grow everywhere in the area. The flowers would quickly grow into full bloom before growing into a large crystal barrier over everyone. It would trap everyone on the inside. Unfortunately it would also prevent any of the remaining civilians to escape. Hopefully it would stop shinobi from interfering in the purification ritual. There was still the matter of the Uchiha who through the scroll above him. The swords would simply phase through the man as his sharingan swirled, activating Kamui. Around the same time Saiko was performing this technique, Thresher was making her advance on the man. Immediately he would return his body to it's physical self as he placed his hand directly in the direction the blade had been swung from, catching it in between his fingers, his other hand moving out to catch the hammer. The moment the attack hit, Thresher would be able to see the cracks in Saiko's crystal armor begin to form before quickly reforming to a transparent crystal. The force of the attack would force him into the dirt slightly, but not by a significant amount. Saiko smiled at the woman, his sharingan swirling. The woman for a moment would find herself suddenly held to the Jashin statue in a much darker world. A world only Jashin would think of. Pain and suffering expanded throughout this realm, and Thresher would be forced to watch all of the phantasms that appeared to her. Saiko only stood in front of the woman for what seemed like perhaps ten minutes in this realm, never saying a word as Thresher was never allowed to move or help those in pain.
While Thresher would be caught by his genjutsu, the man rose up his hand before stepping towards Thresher. While she was trapped in the genjutsu, she would find it hard to dodge as he struck each of the 8 celestial gates with his palm. Upon being hit the first time, Thresher would be violently shaken awake from the genjutsu only to be hit the rest of the 7 times. This would prevent Thresher from using and chakra for awhile and also drain much of her chakra. Once he was finished with his strikes he would grip Thresher’s arm and throw her directly at the fire ball that was still tracing her. Likely a deadly hit if no one helped thresher or perhaps if Thresher had more endurance than Saiko had thought. This left Saiko to do what he needed to as he finished his walk to Takao. The man continued his prayer, the statue moving to stand behind Saiko in a defensive position. Hundreds of hands would come down to form a large wooden dome around Takao and Saiko as the purification ritual began. Jashin’s words echoed in Saiko’s mind as he continued his prayers, the entire area filling with an unnatural light that would fill everyone with a sense of dread. Something was clearly off about it. The experience would be rather quick as the light swirled through the area and immediately entered the barrier that contained Takao, filling every pore on his body with Jashin’s light.

This crystal labyrinth is capable of thwarting the abilities of sensory doujutsu thanks to its unique properties. Though inert from an offensive perspective, the labyrinth is totally enclosed and spans a massive 1000ft across and 120ft tall and covers an entire area (topic). It can be destroyed only by elemental Korabo Ninjutsu of the same rank or higher, regardless of elemental components. Takao couldn't sense anything happening outside the wooden hands. It didn't occur to him to try any sensory techniques in his panic and he spent his time pushing against the hands to no avail. "Chomei, Chomei, what do I do?" But things were oddly silent. And empty. But it couldn't be. "Chomei?" And then there was a strange light coming the seal on his stomach. Incredulous, he pulled up his shirt and saw as the inscription glowed. It was a familiar feeling, one he knew but couldn't name. It was reminiscent of the very sealing event that put Chomei into him, and he knew, he just knew it wasn't the feeling of a bijuu seal being messed with because Shion had tweaked his seal and it felt different. It wasn't the feeling of any seal being messed with, because he knew fuuinjutsu. But this, this was the very distinct feeling of Jashinist handiwork.
He knew it and it burned. "Chomei! Suck it up and talk to me, you winged ********. I need your head in the game if we're gonna get out of this. Talk to me! The silent treatment doesn't help either of us!" The idea of being abandoned angered him, and he even dug his nails into the seal on his skin as though Chomei could feel it. But it was short-lived, as it yielded no results.
"Chomei? Chomei, I need you. Please. Please, talk to me. I'll do anything. I'll give anything, please, please just tell me you're here. Chomei," he choked out. He grabbed at his stomach as the rest of him seemed to fill with a sickly light and he ******** knew it was Jashin's perverted touch. He bared his teeth and growled but there was nothing he could do about it. His disgusting Jashinist parents had done this to him once and here it was happening to him again, just a pawn in a Jashinist's game. 'Chomei, please, don't leave me. Don't leave me here. I need you. You can't go, please don't go." His face burned with shame as he cried into his hands, curling into a ball inside the wooden hands. He felt exactly the same as he did eleven years ago, alone in the dark and betrayed by those who were supposed to protect him.

tab“What?!” Thresher snarled as Saiko simply caught her weapon. The woman was particularly proud of her strength, as not many things have managed to stand up to her brute power. But here the Jashinist was, not only stopping her in her tracks but holding her up in the air by her weapon. Thresher glared into the mans eyes as she struggled to be freed, and she would soon find that was her first mistake.
The swirling, trance inducing moving of the Sharingan made the swordsman blink to shake off the dizziness, but when she opened her eyes she was pinned to the statue. The world around her had gone red, with every shape black and white against the blood red sky. “What’s going on?” Thresher snarled, fighting to no avail to free herself from the statue.
Of course Saiko would provide no answer. The answer would, instead, come from the people around her. Thresher watched as Takao and Freya would simply be set ablaze, burning to ashes slowly and filling the work with inhuman cries of anguish. Thresher would watch helplessly as her friends and family from her home town began to fight as well, not even wondering for a second how they got there. Each and every one of the dozens of bodies would attack Saiko, only to fall into literal pieces in a matter of seconds. The hulking form of Threshers father stood before her, opting to protect her one last time, as the giant mans skin unraveled like paper. As his skin and organs collapsed, they would fall into the sigil of Jashin, surrounding the body parts of her fallen friends.
And in the center stood Miyuki. Threshers struggling redoubled as she watched Saiko walk over to her girlfriend. “No no no, DONT YOU DARE TOUCH HER!” She screamed, her voice filled more with panic than anger. Thresher felt her constraints tears into her flesh as she pulled against them with all of her might. She could only watch as Saiko walked into the circle with Miyuki, tracing a finger around her neck. “Leave her alone!!!!! I’ll kill you!!!” As Thresher watched, Miyukis body would begin to bulge and expand seemingly at random until she was three times her usual size. Then the artist would explode, obliterated into a cloud of blood and guts that would splash onto Thresher and force her to stop struggling as horror crept on to her face. And this was the scene that would repeat itself in the Genjutsu world of Tsukuyomi over and over, for the full ten minutes Saiko kept her trapped.
By the time the real Saiko hit Thresher, all of the fight from the woman had been stripped out of her. She wordlessly choked and gagged as the man hit her over and over and over, the chakra draining effects ripping her from her Sage Mode. By the time the warrior fell to the ground, her vision was already starting to fade. Before she blacked out, Thresher was able to see Miyuki standing. And still alive. As the Hoshigaki looked at Miyuki, tears started to well up in her eyes. Thresher reached out to point, and tried to speak out to her but her voice came out as a whisper so soft that it was like she was mouthing the word. A word Thresher never said. But she’d already lost her lover, she couldn’t bear to lose her yet again.

Having no distractions, Miyuki had nothing to better to do than watch the instant where Saiko inflicted Thresher with some strange doujutsu. It felt like she was moving in slow motion as she moved towards her, and she felt helpless as Thresher's pressure points were hit and she collapsed into Saiko's hands. She was tossed like a ragdoll towards the ball of flame and Miyuki acted purely on instinct even though she felt completely out of her body [ ▰ Water Dragon Whip [ Suiryuuben ] | Rank S+ ]. Saiko turned his attention away from Thresher and Miyuki came to her side, feeling numb and cold as she approached the shark.
It hurt to meet Thesher's tear-rimmed eyes. In that moment, Miyuki let herself fully detach from everything that was happening. She tucked all of the emotion and vulnerability and regret into a small bag in the back of her mind and let everything else focus solely on survival. There was no Thresher, no friendship, no love, no Miyuki; nothing existed except the need for survival. The woman told her to run, and Miyuki simply mustered up all the strength she had to pull the muscular woman up enough to wrap the shark's arm around her shoulder. She was about to flicker away, but she realized, unfortunately, that the hospital was decimated. Where would she take the woman for rescue? She let the woman slip from her shoulders and back to the floor as Miyuki pulled out all of the tools in her arsenal. Kunai and senbon wouldn't help her, the chopsticks were necessary only for a defense against oncoming jutsu, the paintbrush couldn't heal the woman either. The problem was psychological as much as physiological and Miyuki had tools for netiher.
She cupped a hand around the woman's jawline, running her fingers down to the pulse to feel it flutter. She didn't even feel her own heartbeat as she pressed her fingers to the blue skin - there was nothing to distract her here. But there was also no one to confide in, no teammate to lean on, and no medical professional to relinquish control to. She was running the ship on a directionless operation.
And so she made a familiar sign with her hands and thought harder until she came up with an unorthodox solution, that the two could head to the temple as there were frequently healers within each faith that was safely housed in Arashi. Even if it were homeopathy, it would do more good than the hospital rubble. Moving as if directed by chakra strings, she pulled the other woman over her shoulder again and finally did flicker towards the temples, thinking only of survival.

The ritual more or less went off without a hitch. For a brief moment Saiko's body would glow the very same green as Chomei's chakra color before quickly dissipating. Thus telling him that the ritual was in fact complete. With Saiko's Byakugan he was able to see that the sharkskin woman and the other girl decided to abandon the combat. The man couldn't blame them, the sharkskin woman was likely within a breath of her life ending and the best place they could have brought her was destroyed. It was certainly a difficult decision, but Saiko had already fulfilled his purpose and thus allowed the girls to leave and perhaps live to fight another day. Takao seemed to be defeated for the most part given on the way he was acting within the barrier, but now that the ritual was over he would be left in the bitter darkness of the barrier. It was unexpected for the Uchiha to suddenly appear to attack the man. As the strike went to land against his neck, his chakra materialization would wrap around the blade and absorb much of the chakra that was used to enhance the technique. Particularly the dismembering him part. The man formed a single handseal as his crystal armor shattered before disappearing on the other side of the room. The man appeared on the end of the wooden dome that statue had created before his amaterasu began to spin. Saiko was somewhat impressed that the Uchiha was able to bypass his defenses, but that also made her a bigger threat than he'd like to admit. From the walls branches began to grow and descend upon Freya in an attempt to capture her. From the walls grew another series of hands, similar to the ones that captured Takao. Two in total, but each equally as persistent in attempting to capture her. Even if she teleported away they would continue their assault on the girl. At the same time, Saiko would form a handseal with his left hand to reform his crystal armor in the case that the Uchiha decided to teleport to him again. With another handseal in his right hand two clones would grow from Saiko, one standing on either side of him. Immediately they would meld into the ground below them, hiding where they were, even from the Uchiha. If the distraction was good enough, Saiko would form a single handseal before disappearing. However, that could very well still be stopped by the Uchiha if she were persistent in stopping him as he would be forced to likely defend himself if she teleported again. Regardless of whether he had to defend himself or not, he would release Takao from his confines as his purpose for today had been fulfilled, but his role in Jashin's plan was not over and thus had to remain alive. It wasn't like Takao was going to be in the condition to fight him any longer and even if he were, that was just more time he was away from the rest of the village that seemed to be turning to rubble rather quickly as a result of the other Jashinists.

Breaking free from this technique requires the rank of this technique atop the grappled status. Each turn the target is bound they suffering 3 point of tenketsu rot per rank of the technique. ▱▰▱If Takao looked around from his constraints he would see the entire area glow with Kenshin's signature night blue chakra. It was ethereal but almost calming to the eye and the senses. Kenshin's body was coated in this chakra as he levitated over the massive statute of Jashin. The rubble beneath him was illuminated by the light that originated from the Hyuga patriarch's ocular prowess. Here I am, using this power again. Kenshin lamented as he formed his complex set of handseals. In so doing, Takao would feel the effects of time around him stop before being dialed back. The hand that clutched Takao would release him and disappear as the statute of Jashin slowly faded away under Kenshin's hateful gaze. Injuries were reversed, Takao's reserves restored, it was all under the effects of commanding time itself. He released his clasped hands before waving his arms and extended hands until the area was completely brought back. The building, vegetation, and harmed people were recovered as Kenshin stared down on it all. "And natural order is preserved!" The lightning sage announced over the area before lowering himself down to Takao. The gleaming avatar of justice extended his right hand before resting it in the center of Takao's chest. "Your bijuu...has been corrupted...by the Jashinists, correct?" Before Takao could answer Kenshin began placing a mixture of natural energy and Gyuki's demonic chakra into Takao's demon's reserves. If Takao continued to permit this, Kenshin would grab a hold of a dark spiritual force. It was a massive shadow that appeared as the statute of Jashin that had been formed earlier. But it was pulled out of possession by Kenshin's mighty grip before he vented his righteous rage into the screaming creature. "Spirit of Jashin! You...are...banished!" Electrical chakra would flood the Jashin spirit before being destroyed. If all of this occurred then Takao would be purified. Kenshin, clearly exhausted, would step back from Takao before sitting down on the ground in a weary collapse.

Nothing existed in the empty void of mind-space where Chomei used to reside. The winged demon did not respond to his calls. Takao wallowed in the empty while inside the wooden hands that had taken Chomei from him, unaware of the events occurring outside or even the presence of a Tenseigan's healing effects until the doujutsu removed from the wooden hands from him.
He uncurled from his fetal position was he was gently dropped to the ground. He looked up fearfully, face still tear-streamed and red, but he relaxed at the sight of Kenshin. Thank the gods, Takao thought earnestly despite his agnosticism. Kenshin was order personified - if the Jashinists weren't ******** before, they were now. He didn't know how to answer Kenshin's question. But then Kenshin's hand was on his chest and he was filled with a weird chakra that made him feel like he was floating. He didn't know how to respond to the sight of the screaming Jashin spirit pulled from him but he finally felt like he could breathe when it was over. "Uh, I am so glad you guys are here. Oh! Uh, ********, Toso was really ******** up when I left the spire because of the attack on the hospital. Um, we need to go see him." He got to his feet carefully, looking in the direction of the spire even as a need burned in him to reconnect with Chomei.
Kameyo had been prepared to summon her slugs for back-up to heal as many people as possible, but instead she stood behind Kenshin and witnessed the restorative prowess of the Tenseigan. Crackling and thunderous dark blue lightning can be applied to the katana's edge at any rank and the same lightning can form a dragon head formed from electricity over the body of the user for 10 posts. This allows all spiritual techniques the sword comes into contact with to be slashed through and even cut in half at the same rank despite the complex nature of the technique. For half of the original cost to activate the technique a same-rank spiritual electrical energy slash can be sent out from the slash of the blade. This same cost can be applied to any complex bukijutsu to achieve the same effect. The original 10 post activation of this ability consumes an action but all subsidiary abilities do not.

Er, I think it's Emperor now... uh, he was here, Avalanche! He's back and he fixed it! That must mean, ah, that Lady Kameyo is back, too, and... and there's no sign of the Jashinist chakra anywhere in the village that I can sense. I think it might be over." His motormouth was accompanied but an optimistic look towards Avalanche, and then it broke into an outright smile because he was beaming. Not only were the Jashinists gone, but one of the greatest warriors and one of the greatest healers had returned, too. Everything, undoubtedly, would be okay.
"I think we should check on the Spire, then." He sounded excited still, happy to recollect with everyone and ensure they were okay, as if the war hadn't happened and Arashigakure hadn't been threatening to crash into the very earth itself. As if the hospital hadn't been destroyed at all.

ooc: despite not really being a cop anymore, kaito still kinda admires the enigmatic figure that is/was/is kenshin kosei... which i'm sure will annoy avalanche, perhaps like his unending optimism will as well? = w = hope i gave you enough to work with;;; this can be an exit post depending on yours but we could also stay here and chat another round before leaving since there are so many people at the spire.
