In the shade of the black sun, Belamos felt the change- the lack of totality stunning the Demi-god. It was as if his strength had diminished greatly. The connection he had long innately felt with his father was thread-thin; bordering on destroyed! He stared down at his own hands in disbelief. As his power waned, the belief that he had been right about the danger on the horizon waxed. When Toso arrived, the spearman composed himself and did his best to reassume his regal, if a bit shaken, visage. "I...know not for certain. I came here to see you because I had a premonition- a vision of danger soon to come. I suspect I was too slow, and this is it. If I had to guess..." Belmaos took a deep, shaky breath in. He stared up to the sky, looking at the dim light far above. He was so much weaker than he had been, so much lesser. Could he do it once more? Could he stop another threat? He would soon find out. "...something has happened to my father" He turned his eyes back to Toso, a single tear threatening to spill down his cheek "I'd guess Evergreen if I had to pick someone. She's always despised, my family. We're outsiders in this world- interlopers."
It was around then that the Crow landed before him. A single black bird with a single red eye focused entirely on him. The beast stared into his own burning, golden, eyes. No words were said, yet somehow Belamos knew what it wanted. The Midnight Dreary. The Sage Lands. The Black Sun. He would find his answers there. "...but she won't win so easily" He breathed the words out, more of a hope than a statement. After a pause, he determinedly set his sights back on the Kage "Toso. If you have any Light Users- tell them to meet me in the Sage Lands of the Crow. And...if my daughters are here...tell them the same. Please. Whatever is going on, I will get to the bottom of it." In the darkness there was a brief yet intense flash of light and then nothing. He was gone.
The Empress’s personal assistant was sent on her way to carry out a request per Unki’s instruction. The genin Toso insisted be sent off to distract them would be instructed too. A woman in a striped black and white dress, a prim display of white hair, and callous, narrow pine green eyes had accepted the arduous task of locating every genin she was asked to seek out with an invitation to the Chunin Exams and give the order to meet up with the Capital’s representative, the Empress, after the preparations were made to leave.
With the invitation sent to the Storm Shadow there stood a hope any of these genin would be able to participate. If anything, just being present might allow them to observe and learn something
Unki waited. She had a fresh band of escorts from Storm Palace beside her. Three. Although four armed escorts were immediately assigned. The fourth escort was due to arrive after a message was dispatched to Kumoito. These genin had a time limit. Genin were not required to come and only should answer their messenger if they're prepared.
With a sigh but still a smile despite it all, Kagerou had returned to Arashi, far sooner than she had expected. In fact, she had only just finished stabilizing Nozomi. She was still on vacation, mind you, but the sole purpose of her vacation had been so she could work on some missions for her family.

And now, thanks to some unexpected interference from the empress, the missions from her family had suddenly scrambled in priority. In disguise, she... No, he passed through the gates like one of Arashi's many anonymous visitors. Mundane and easily forgotten, save for the green hair and red eyes that were the exact same shade of her original appearance.

This was his first village to the flying village and he found the technology of it all quite stupendous and beyond his comprehension. He was kind of nervous by the prospect of being in the sky. Akaran was certainly a more ground-oriented creature. He somewhat absent-mindedly presented his ID to every person in a guard uniform who passed him and Aki. Each time he was being pointed toward the platform gate. Akaran worked his way over there and stood in line and presented his ID again. This time it seemed to work but Akaran still scratched his head trying to figure out how the platform thing worked. "This place is confusing." Aka admitted with complete bewilderment to Aki. When it was their turn his plan was just to follow Aki and let his smart companion take the lead.

Akihiko thought about the chances of them running into his old flame in Arashigakure, but even with his mental calculations, he had no idea where the likelihood fell. She was too much of a wild card, she could be anywhere right now. That said, he was easily distracted by the childlike wonder on Akaran's face, grinning at the reaction. "It's cool stuff, isn't it? There are definitely some things we miss out on for not living in a village," Akihiko lamented light-heartedly. "I am sure this operates on some kind of fuuin system, which bodes well for us finding a seal-specialist for you."

He felt them getting beamed up to the aether leyline and continued to be astounded by the mixture of technology and supposedly fuuinjutsu. If sealing had powers like this it was really no wonder that Akaran could get so much stronger by using one. "Yup, that'll be good." Aka answered Aki somewhat absentmindedly. There was a bigger question looming in his mind as they were being lifted up into the sky village.

Nothing is ever just black and white. The groundman in charge of the leyline was told to allow those who had some relation to the land of fire were to be allowed unto the platforms. That or Yokai with citizenship ID's. Although if there was some warranted suspicion to report it. Aka flashing his ID indicating he was a Zaishin Samurai in good confidence was one that raised several questions. They also lacked visitation passes. In such cases there was a unique procedure. Akihiko turned to the attractive stranger who questioned them about their business. Usually, he'd have said '******** off' and gone about his day, but the two men were concerned about the curse mark and he couldn't let things go badly. "My fiance is afflicted by a strange seal. Dunno what it's doing to him or where it came from, but I've heard good things about scholars from Arashigakure. I want him to get some medical attention, and I don't trust the O-Inari ******** in the ruins of Gimangakure near him." He let a worried glance fall Akaran's way, gaze resting on the nape his neck where the seal sat... maliciously waiting.

The strange way that Toso spoke put him off guard and he wanted to imitate it to ingratiate himself with him. "Why howdy partner! We're gonna have a rootin' tootin' good time!" Akaran responded stupidly to Toso out of nervousness and trying to sound like him. He was not good under pressure unless he was fighting. When Akihiko spoke and gave an honest and straightforward answer the oni mindlessly nodded. "That's right. It's right here." Akaran turned around and pulled up his hairline to show the seal on the back of his neck.

A shift into the curious expression based on the Oni's words. SImple minded...almost...TOO simple minded. Toso's recent penchant for finding suspicious where suspicion shouldn't be kicking in as the leader of the village. "Are we? Bloop? Having strange seal afflictions are what one would typically assume to be the opposite of a good time. Not unlike having a bad rash." Toso would curiously say with a finger under his chin with seemingly friendly skepticism as he leaned back on his heel somewhat. Then leaned forward. Toso's goggles would fall over his eyes momentarily as he examined the seal. To which he'd make a long "Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Ah."
Toso would then chuckle somewhat as he most casually announced. "bloobloo. Indeed that is most certainly no doubt cursed bloop." picking up the faint corrupt chakra aura with his sensory prowess that typically all curse marks had about them. Of course deeper discernment required more honed sensory measures. Ruffling inside his coat shortly after making this announcement looking for something. Perhaps the duo would be on guard from such movements that typically came from someone about to brandish a hidden weapon but what ended up being pulled out was a pen. The cheerful demeanor of the Arashikage did not change. Shortly after a clipboard followed. He'd make small talk as he began writing on the clipboard gods knew what.

Akaran's charming response to the silver-haired man turned Akihiko's ears red. Why was he in love with such an idiot? He hid his grimace at the response - but God forbid he ever heard Akaran utter the words rootin' tootin' again - and listened to the man's advice. It didn't put Akihiko at ease to hear that the seal was cursed, but at least there were specialists in Arashigakure that could help. "Kagerou, got it," he repeated to help himself remember.
Akihiko accepted the clipboard with a raised brow, though he barely looked at it before following the man's gesture towards a beautiful garden. "Oh, that's actually... really beautiful." His whispered comment was genuine - which was rare - and he struggled to draw his attention back to the clipboard now that his mind was racing with how to maneuver Akaran to the garden after the seal business was handled.
"And where should we expect to find this Kagerou?" As he asked the question, he turned to his questions. Name: Akihiko Shinsuke. Sex: Male. Land of Origin: ... s**t. He didn't know. Might as well put the place from his earliest memories. Land of Origin: Fire.
He clipped the pen to the clipboard as he finished, turning his attention to the brochure of wedding venues while Akaran was distracted by his questionnaire. Wait. No further questions for him. Akaran had more questions, then. Akihiko pocketed the brochure and leaned over to read Akaran's questionnaire.

▱▰▱Akaran liked this border official so far. He had a light-heartedly musing way about him that eased Aka's anxieties. "Well we'll celebrate after I get the seal fixed." Akaran responded to the gentleman while he back was still turned and he was examining the seal. When he turned around he blushed at being called charming. He could tell that his strange outburst was embarrassing Aki and he truly savored it. "Ka-ge-rou." Aka committed the name to memory although he knew that he would forget it quickly so that responsibility would largely fall to Aki.
The oni grabbed the pen clumsily with his whole closed fist and no finesse. His flattery-induced blush deepened when the man said sex and such a personal question was indeed on the form. He was not sure why Arashi needed to know that, but Aka had nothing to hide! Akaran wrote his name in crude handwriting as one would expect from an oni child who flunked calligraphy class in Zaishin. The answer line for sex was strangely short so he drew an arrow and wrote his answer off to the side. "Good. It happens every day. Aki is very loud and very big. He lets me on top when he's tired. Don't tell him I said that." Those were all of the details that Aka could think of to generally describe his answer to the question. He then put Land of Iron down at his land of origin before flipping the clipboard pages over. He did not pay much attention to the whispered conversation with Aki about wedding venues and instead had to focus on this hard test.
There were a lot more questions on the forbidden seal questionnaire. He felt like he was taking a pop quiz and he was never a confident test taker. Aka failed every written test he ever took. Toso helped him find the paper and he immediately began dumbly scratching his head with the pen. For the first question he checked off Only if someone says something mean but then he put a line through "someone" and replaced it with "Aki" before chuckling at his answer. He was oblivious to Aki staring over his shoulder at this form and his first biographical questions that included sex. Aka still did not know that he was supposed to just write "male" on the line. For the second question, he just wrote one day. On question three he marked "clueless" with confidence. He strongly disagreed with the fourth question because friendship is everything. He wrote zero for question five because technically Aki did the killing from what he could recall of the incident. He did have to write one as the answer to question six. He wrote one for the seventh question after thinking about it for a while because he did technically help Aki during that fight. For question eight he checked off strongly like for yokai and wrote to the side "I am oni" and drew a dumb smiley face with horns on it. Finally, he put very likely to the cookie question. Aka knew that it was difficult for him to resist temptation. He finally handed back the clipboard to the border official.
