Tasha frowned. She wanted more of a fight from this bloodsucker! Screw being nice, she wanted to let her anger flow! Something that didn't have the threat of being clubbed with a silver bat, as all these leeches seemed to carry something silver on them. She noted this as she eyed the silver pendent around Kassandra's neck. The werewolf glared right back, not breaking eye contact. With the pack, this usually meant issuing a challenge to another member's place in the pack. Having no clue what this meant the the vampires, and not caring either way.

"He said we'd 'be safe if we can get along'." Tasha stated, not letting up on her glare, as if she was trying to burn holes through Kassandra. "And just because he says something, you're going to do it? Alastar tells you to jump off a cliff- I'm sorry, I forgot how hard it was to kill you leeches. To go throw yourself into a bonfire-" She remembered the bonfire that the pack was supposed to have tonight. Things went too wrong, too fast. "-will you do that too? How about- shhhhh!"

Tasha pricked up her ears, hearing the fighting between, what sounded like Alastar and... Alastar. The voices were so similar. The smells were even close to the same, the only differences coming from where the two have been hanging around. It took a little more than a few moments to figure out that Alastar and the unknown person were twins. A few moments longer to come to the conclusion that the second one must have been the Master of the whole coven, judging by the authority he held in his tone.

"Oh jeez, I don't know if I can handle any more visitors." She said, rolling her eyes.

Kassandra rolled her eyes at the werewolf. Not only was Alastar her superior, which meant she did have to do what he said, but she very well could be in love with him. Didn't people do crazy things when they were in love? "I don't have to explain myself to you," Kassandra told her and then her eyes widened when she heard the voices.

She winced at the sound what could only be Alastar getting hit. How much she wanted to flee from this room and to his side, but she had to stay. Alastar wanted her to stay, and she would probable gain a wound far worse then Alastar's if she were to leave. So Kassandra pushed away any thoughts of leaving the room and listened intently to what was happening outside the room. She was gripping the chair so hard that she could feel the wood crumble in her hands. Hopefully Alastar would not mind.

Kassandra gripped the chair even harder, if possible, as she heard Rourke began to come closer to the room. Her gaze slipped to Tasha for a mere second before staring back at the door. For once, she almost agreed with the dog. She wasn't looking forward to facing an angry Rourke again.

"She isn't very involved at all," Alastar replied casually. He languidly followed behind, rubbing his cheek absently. It was as if one of the gods was playing a cruel joke on him to have him feed and immediately afterwards get injured so that the desire struck him once more. It wasn't a necessity by any means, but the carnal urges were slithering back towards the surface of his mind.

"I had told no one of my ideas, intending to tell you foremost once I had devised a suitable schematic for the snatching. It was merely chance, coincidence, serendipity if you will that I came across Tasha and then Kassandra came after me. I thought she'd be trailing you, not I. In any case, she assisted me in providing a means to sedate the werewolf so I may move her easily and without harm coming to either of us- but that is all. She is in my room watching our hostage now... but by no means was she part of the plan."

"Don't worry. If need be I'll subject myself to Marco and take responsibility... but I have faith it won't come to that. I won't endanger one of our 'children' so easily and carelessly without a conscience to speak of. Mmmmm, and speaking of safety... if you wish it, since this was my ploy I'll bear the burden and keep her in my room since she's already seen it. I don't know that she quite realizes who I am," he added, a low rumble that sounded like a building laugh intermixed with a purr emanating from his throat. He was both pleased and amused by Tasha's ignorance of his rank. "I guess our enemies don't spin wondrous tales of my chivalry for their young. I do hope you won't ruin that fun for me. I much prefer being the strange man with the affection for fairy tales than the sort of man my title denotes. Usually the authority and success ploy only works if you have dashing lineage."

And just like that he had turned the conversation, skipping around mentally and vocally to places that were light and airy, comical in their visions and insinuations. He didn't dwell long in the realms of serious, solemn discussions for longer than necessity. It was this propensity for levity that made the fleeting moments he was completely serious have more of an impact.

“I’d prefer she stay as far removed from all of this as possible, you’ll have Alette and myself for whatever you need.” It didn’t surprise him at all that Alastar had found ‘a means to sedate the werewolf’ apparently it had been necessary, “I’ve no doubt that you’d love to go blow for blow with Marco would please you but the point of this entire upset is to avoid all that. If this works,” and he hoped it would or things would proceed well, “what will the two of you do to entertain yourselves? The two of you might go insane from the civility.” Rourke paused, his hand on the gold doorknob and gave his brother a once over, “Well Marco would at least. And it surprises me that she doesn’t know who you are.”

Were the wolves that careless with the education of their young? Alastar was not only a danger on battle and he planning of one but he was a different sort of predator. He did not discriminate between men and women. Rourke chuckled himself, an equal opportunity lover. The night was unfolding in a most peculiar manner or he was spending too much time in Alastar’s company to find joke in a situation that called for the opposite. He turned the cool knob and let the door swing open.

“So this is Tasha?” She was just a girl like the irritated vampire in the room with her. He looked between the two of them and let his face fold into the appropriate lines of a smile. A genuine smile was reserved for a select few and only one qualified but he was more than capable of imitating a sincere one, “Less than five hours and already she’s in your bed.” He spoke as he moved deeper into the room, “I hope your captor has been gracious as much as he is capable and arrangements will be made to keep you as comfortable as possible.”

He took a seat across from the two of them and leaned back casually in the high backed, cushioned chair. His legs were spread in what many would have thought a casual display but he was no less authoritative. When he spoke next his face was stern and his voice serious and sincere, “Be sure we mean you no harm. We usually aren’t too physical outside of a fight. You are the possible catalyst to history, a step in a better direction for both our kinds. We both deserve to live out fuller lives, however long they may be and too long we have been robbing each other of that. I would hate to watch you watch your children die for something that was not their doing. Hopefully this can be a long overdue end to that.” He paused, held her gaze to make sure she understood the magnitude of what was going on around her.

“Unfortunately, if that does not sit well with you if matters little. Your kind are already hell bent on kill us for what has been done so you get to stay a bit.” His mood lightened a fraction as he turned to address Kassandra directly for the first time, “A few things need to be taken care of so would please go to the servants’ quarters and inform them that they are not to come to this side of the house unless told otherwise? Also, the two of you are about the same size, I’m sure you have come clothes you no longer wear that would fit her and something for her to eat…Not in a bowl.” He knew the last bit would not sit well with either of them. Though if Tasha wanted to starve that was fine but considering her roommate she would most likely not want to go naked. He chuckled to himself for the umpteenth time that night as he thought of Alastar romancing the werewolf. Those would be interesting battle scars on his dear brother.

Kassandra immediately stood up when she was addressed. Hearing what she was told to do the vampire nodded, holding back her disgust. She was going to have to get the dog food and clothes; Her clothes!?

She disregarded Rourke's chuckle. Her eyes went to the dog, to Rourke, and then she swiftly left the room. She immediately walked past Alastar. She could not talk to him now. Her head had gotten even more confused then before, and she was sure she'd burst if she talked to Alastar anymore for the time being.

Though yes, she cold not help but let her arm brush past his. Just a simple touch like that, that would do until she could sort through her thoughts. Her eyes did not move to his for a second though. No doubt she would gaze into those beautiful eyes of his. No, she could certainly not look at him. If she just told him something quickly though.. Deciding what to do a smile graced Kassandra's lips as she began to walk.

"I'm glad you're alright," Kassandra told Alastar as she brushed past him. The smile remained on her lips as she continued to look forward and got a good distance away from him. Yes, telling him that was okay, but she didn't know if she could handle hearing his reply. His voice.. No, she certainly wouldn't be able to handle it right now. Pushing away all thoughts of Alastar as best she could Kassandra thought of the tasks she had to complete as she quickened her pace.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 14, 2008 8:54 pm

Tasha's eyelids lowered and she frowned. The distance was probably enough for normal people not to hear the conversation, but it was as clear as if they were standing next to her.

She didn't like them talking like she couldn't hear them.

The werewolf wasn't sure of what bothered her more. Her 'ignorance' (mostly because she zoned out on the strategic meetings) or the way they discussed how disposable she was. Her earlier sense of security vanished as quickly as it came.

Yet oddly enough, when they came in and the one she assumed was in charge started spewing the 'No Harm' stuff, she believed it. Odd. And she was expecting look-a-likes, but was baffled how even their clothes matched. The two could have stood in a door frame and she would have mistook the other for a mirror.

So that's what the 'both sides have suffered' lecture was about earlier. An introduction to the reason of her kidnapping.

"So you make matters worse by stealing one of the family. Boy, who was the brains in the plan?" Her eyes didn't move from his, even though her natural canine reaction was to flinch away from the authority she saw in there. "And gee, you're making me feel real welcome, what with being the plague of the house hold. Yeah, I'll feel right at home here."

Bet there isn't a ounce of raw meat to be had hear, she thought, then added, non-human kind of cattle, though.

"Oh? And what do you think would have improved relations? Perhaps a teddy bear with a large ribbon sent with a dozen long-stemmed red roses to Marco? I am sure that would strategy would be very fruitful; why, I can imagine the poor man making a reservation right away to sail off to scout distant lands for the relocation of you pack. Hmmmm, no, perhaps lilies or daisies might suit his demeanor more? What do you think, Rourke? What do you send Alette when you have found yourself on the wrong side of the argument? I think I'd prefer a rose, myself."

As he spoke his mind carefully dissected what had happened as Kassandra exited the room. He would be lying if he said this was an expected, anticipated turn of events. Her eyes had always been squarely on his brother's, a silent unrequited love that dwelled just below the surface. Was he mistaken, or was she suddenly showing interest in him? A subtle brush against his arm was noted as she made her way to the door along with the demure words that were so uncharacteristic of her.

Shooting his brother a slightly confused look and shrug that clearly said , 'I don't know,' he turned his attention back to Tasha. Well, this was becoming more of a mess than he had anticipated. Bruised shins, a swelling, discolored cheek, a fellow vampire with affection for him, both a girlfriend and a boyfriend to attend to, an agitated brother, and a hostage werewolf. Most, if not all, of it was directly his doing but Alastar had the sinking feeling he had bitten off more than he might be able to deal with on his own terms. Not everyone could walk away from a conflict without suffering in some regard. Perhaps this was his comeuppance.

"Ah yes, I don't suppose you could fashion up a lovely excuse for my significant others as to why I can't tend to their needs for a bit, could you dear brother?" He flashed his most charming smile, guessing that his superior had no intentions of letting his lovers come to the manor any time soon.

As more members of the pack arrived, spread around him with looks of anxiety and bad expectations, William spoke aloud to them, putting up a hand to cease their worried and vengeful words. “I’m sure some of you are wondering what has happened tonight. Though I hate to be the barer of bad news, I must inform you the vampires have taken one of our own. Tasha is dear to us, probably good friends with some of you,” the Alpha paused, the frowns around him melting into his features as he peered at the faces of his family. “There is no need for trepid thoughts. We will do whatever is in our power to get her back, and those fiends better see to it that there was no harm done to her, or they will succumb to an even greater pain,” he let his true feelings seep through his words for a moment, a fist tightly clenched as it hung at his side. It took only a second to recover his calm demeanor, looking to the side at his blue-eyed companion before turning back to the pack. Surely some of those wild souls looked to nothing but payback, but William’s next words would surely rattle their desires for the moment’s time, “All of you must go with Artesia back to the cabin, or at least to our end of the city. Listen to her words. This is no time for recklessness. Danger is all about, now, and there are surely hunters drooling for the chase. Stay together and don’t press your luck,” the warning in his tone was clearly abundant. The calm night had changed into a deadly one, the smooth skin on his forehead was now thick with sweat.

Before Artesia could trail off to the other end of the city, a rough hand took hers and pulled her close to William’s slim body. A soft, but urgent, whisper sailed through his lips to meet her delicate ear, “Many of them will want to leave. You must, at least, tell them to go in groups if they must. There will only be a short amount of time before the vampires will disappear from the streets tonight and inform themselves about tonight’s occurrences. After that, there will be little chance for us to capture one of them as leverage. For those truly wanting to do something about this, give them the task, but warn them of the consequences,” another pause as he breathed in the scent of her hair and caressed the supple skin of her cheek. It might’ve seemed that his words had ceased, but he had one more thing to ask of her, but he was unsure of whether or not she would easily accept the task. “I need you to seek out the Merlin once you are certain that everyone is safe. I dislike those pesky wizards, but whomever we can turn against the bloodsuckers the easier this will be. Tell him whatever need be; that we’re looking for peace. Anything to sway them,” he pulled away to look directly into her eyes, “It might be difficult, but I’m sure you can pull through on this one,” the edges of his mouth flickered into an assuring, though strained, smile. His lips met her forehead before he turned to Marco, motioning for him to follow.

William wasn’t so sure that Artesia would take his actions lightly, and he didn’t want to worry her. So mentioning what his role was for this evening was surely out of the question, even though her suspicions may have risen when he walked off in the opposite direction that the rest of the pack was heading. “I know what you’re thinking, and you may be right. But, I must speak to Rourke no matter how dangerous the situation is. If there’s anytime to converse with those bloodsuckers about this, it’s before the situation turns into a full blown massacre,” he waited until the end of his sentence to look to his Beta, forcing a small smirk upon his lips in reverence to the night’s events. “I never wanted it to start this early, especially in this way,” the tanned, scruffy face was void of most emotions as he looked ahead. Snapping out of it, he looked to Marco, “Tasha is tough, she’ll be alright.”
PostPosted: Tue Nov 18, 2008 1:39 pm

Marco understood that Tasha was indeed tough and the past conflicts he had with Alastar kept his mind faithful that he wouldn't try anything dangerious, at least he hoped. He could see one of them killing a werewolf if it was a male but even the vampires had morales, killing a woman was entirely different. Perhaps speaking with Rourke will end the matter before it began but that was doubtful, a fight would most likely break out tonight. If it happened he had to try his best to keep Tasha safe while providing back-up for William incase things went sore. It might be hard to do much when it was only the two of them entering towards the vampire domain. Still, something had to be done before the night was over. He couldn't admit that he was eager to get going though, speaking was absent in this form, but he allow himself to move a tad faster to show that his eagerness was getting the best of him. Muscles tighten and he kept his tail down as he prepared himself to burst into an all out sprint towards the enemy area. His senses were at their peak as he sniffed around to see if any vampire were in the general area, listening in on the slightly of sounds for any chances of an ambush. They might be slightly stronger tonight then him but that didn't mean he could take a few of them out with him.

"Oh, go suck on a rotting corps." Tasha spat. This was getting more than a little irritating. It matters little if it saw well with her? Ha! She'd show them how much it mattered whether she went along with this or not. It crossed her mind to howl again, but it seemed like a swift death would be promised for that. She frowned at this prospect, more wanting to blow ear drums than to call her pack again.

Her eyes didn't miss Kassandra's brush on Alastar. She could have laughed right then if she didn't feel like biting someone even more. It was quite obvious she was head over heels for him, even by her short conversation with the bloodsucker earlier. If Tasha thought it would spite the leech, she would have brought the conversation up right there.

A first for her, Tasha felt home sick. Much to the same effect a child got before they left their parents for the first time that wasn't just a night at a friends house. It was a fairly confusing emotion, seeing as she'd mostly blown off the whole reason for her family. One could never truly appreciate the finer things in life until they were out of reach. What she wouldn't give to be able hug Arteisia or Aly right now, leaving out that one of her hands were occupied right now.

Now concerned with another thought, the werewolf was positive that she was so deep in all her inner thoughts, that she forgotten to keep her face straight and they all played out like an open story book.

Daniel observed the wizard intently as she, from what it looked like, was trying to actually comprehend his question. Dull gray orbs opened wide with confusion as the wizard’s form began bouncing up and down in excitement. For a moment, Daniel thought there may be a chance for him to go back to his normal plan for the night after getting the strange wizard home, but his hopes were put to an abrupt end as the wizard began pointing in three different directions. When those muddy eyes looked up to him for an answer he could obviously not give, a breathy sigh came out of his mouth and his eyes closed as a hand made its way to his temple. ’How did I get stuck in this situation?’ he thought to himself, once again questioning the wizard’s mental stability.

Once again, his train of thought took a pause as the being in front of him tried to show their worth, doing their best to prove they would be okay in the cold weather. The hunter’s strong shoulder’s relaxed as he watched the pathetic attempt, pitying the boy.. or girl for their lack of skill in acting and controlling their body from the easily visible signs of being cold. Daniel could tell, by the obvious tension in the wizard’s jaw and the lack of color in it’s pale lips, that he or she was cold. Letting go of her wrist, he opened his mouth to talk, “You don’t have to do that…”

Daniel’s quiet voice was quickly cut off as the powerful howl sounded. The muscles in his body tensed, as his head turned in the direction of the call. In instinct, he took a step in its direction, but soon realized that the wizard had attached them self to him. It took him a moment to snap out of his initial thought process, and soon after he felt the moisture taken in by his own clothing, while some of the heat escaped to the girl for a second. Eyes turned to look down at the frail form, soon softening when the fear in the wizard’s voice was recognized.

An ache inside him controlled his arms as they softly grasped the wizard’s body, pulling them up slightly so he could easily carry the drenched form. It seemed there would be no point in going after the werewolf who had howled, for such a call was surely beckoning the whole pack to follow, which meant he would be outnumbered if he chased after it too soon. Plus, the possibility that if he took the wizard along with him, she’d only complicate things. Images of the strange boy.. girl kicking and screaming the whole way there wasn’t exactly the most pleasant of thoughts.

No, instead he began to walk in the direction of which he had come from, towards his own home. The destination was merely a simple stop to change back into warm, dry clothing, and hopefully find out where the wizard lived so he could get on with his night’s work. By the time he got the wizard home, the city would surely still be crawling with enough werewolves to slay.

Due to his long legs and abnormally fast waking pace, the distance between his house and themselves wouldn’t take nearly as long to pass as it would a normal human to walk. Before too long, they stood in front of his door, his free hand retrieving a key from his pocket and turning it in the lock. Setting the wizard down, he lightly pushed her into the house before entering himself and closing the door behind him. Disappearing into a hallway, he quickly returned with an armful of clothes. The garments had grown too small for him, yet he never made it a priority to get rid of them. It was a good thing he hadn’t; the wizard would have been swimming in any other clothes he had. Once again, he took her frail wrist and dragged her to a bathroom. “Here,” he said, handing her the clothes, “Change, take a bath, whatever. Just don’t flood my bathroom, okay?” he instructed, remembering the wall of liquid she had conjured up back in the city. A hand went to close the door, but stopped as he remembered an important note, “What’s your name?” The question wasn’t really asked for the sake of knowing the wizard’s name, although it would be a good thing to know, but for the sake of looking up her address so he could return to his ‘career’ of sorts.

Rourke thought it interesting how docilely Kassanda went about her duty. Gone was Alastar’s cunning apprentice that she’d pretended – and failed – to be to him and Alette and in her place was the timid school girl she actually was. She said nothing to him, making Rourke in even more curious about her behavior. He didn’t miss her shy remark to his brother and didn’t bother to hide the tiny smirk at Alastar’s confusion, “It seems I’ve been forgotten.”

He was about to answer Tasha but Alastar spoke before he could and he patiently waited. To Alastar he said, still with the tiny smile, “I cannot recall the last time Alette was upset with me, you fill that void all too well and you know I’m not one to steal someone else’s thunder. As for your lurid affairs, they’d just as soon think I were you and try to seduce me then I’d have to hurt their feelings. I’d make quite an enormous mess of your relationships for you to clean up. Maybe that’s what you need, a little busy work to keep you out of trouble and out of my hair.”

He focused on Tasha now, leaning forward in his seat, his left elbow resting on his thigh so his wrist swung between his legs, his right hand trailed into his hair and pulled it back. His head hung slightly so that when he looked at Tasha it was from beneath thick black lashes. His smirk from earlier twisted into a cruel smile, “Your awful angry for such a young thing and your sarcasm is rather unimaginative, but I can tell you hold closely to the mantra of ‘practice makes perfect.’” He scooted to edge of his seat, let his hand drop to his thigh and his hair swing over his eyes, “Do remember little one that we don’t need you alive for you to be a bargaining chip, for all they know you’re already dead. All your family has to go on is the hope that we are somewhat humane and keep you alive until they can get to you, and you can be plenty alive in a coma and broken. Of course if the conditions aren’t to your liking you need only say so, accommodations can be made and you’ll be kept like a proper captive. This is very real sweetheart and though we are far from savages do you really want to push the envelope with monsters you don’t know?”

He let her muse over his words as he turned back to his brother, he had meant what was said about meaning no harm but that offer was easily recanted, “The wolves need to be told something soon, I doubt they’ll trespass on out territory considering the time of the month but it’s a possibility that can’t be dismissed. Did you have anything in particular in mind or are we still playing this by ear?”

He worried about Alette for a second before reassuring himself she could more than hold her own, “A note or some kind of short communication isn’t a bad way to go for now but we’ll need to meet with them sooner or later. At the moment we have the upper hand but we don’t know how long that will be for.” Looking back at their latest addition to the household he added, “Kassandra shouldn’t leave alone should they attempt something similar, probably be best to have her food brought in by one of us so that she won’t have to leave. She can dog-sit while we’re out.”END

Kassandra sighed as she scanned the clothes in her recycle closet. There was no way Tasha was going to wear anything from her actual closet. This closet was simply for clothes that she didn't really want to wear anymore, but if the time came, god forbid, that she ran out of clothes to wear this was where she would go to. Sure the clothes were not as great as her actual closet, but they would do if needed.

"Hmm," she said to herself as she took out a pair of hip hugger black jeans and a tight red neck-tie halter top. "This should do," Kassandra said before quickly folding up the outfit and leaving her room. She smirked as she stalked down the hallway towards the kitchens. What would Tasha think of the outfit? If the dog was looking for something comfy and virgin, well, she wouldn't get the clothes from this vampire.

Entering the kitchens Kassandra raised her voice to a commanding tone. "Is the food ready?" No sooner did she ask a plate was offered to her which was covered with a raw steak. Her eyes met the servant's and she instantly smiled. "Thank you Matthew," Kassandra told him, taking the plate. "Do make sure the others heed the Master's command."

The male servant nodded and as he turned to leave her lips were immediatly on his neck. "And I will be in need of you later," Kassandra whispered against his neck. She grinned when she felt his shiver and she then turned and left. Matthew was her play toy from time to time and she deffinitaly needed him tonight. She needed someone to relieve the confusion she was feeling about Alastar on.

No sooner had she left the kitchens was she back at the entrance of Alastar's room. Entering the room Kassandra wasted no time in placing the clothes and food on the bed. Looking at Tasha the vampire managed the sweetest smile she could. "I hope everything is to your liking. I wasn't exactly sure what you ate.." Kassandra trailed off. She was doing quite well at this nice thing.
