@ Iaijutsu Interruption Part 2:
The question was proposed to all samurai here, and despite how many disliked Sayoko, and might have wanted to see bad things to happen, not one samurai stepped forward to stand against her.
But someone else did.
"I beg your pardon," Kan would say, bowing his head. The magistrates, Sayoko, Gemmei, and probably all the other samurai here would all turn their heads in surprise to see the oldest person in the entire complex speaking up.
"Kan-san? I... don't think this is a matter that's quite suited to the opinions of a monk. I mean no disrespect, but..." Benjiro started to say, ready to etiquette it up too when Kan would raise a hand.
"No apologies are needed, Seppun-sama. I have a slightly different matter I'd like addressed, actually."
Benjiro would give an unsure look to Raicho, who would speak up next. "Out with it, monk. This entire tournament has been nothing but a headache with all the interruptions. I'm not in the mood for any more games."
"No games, Kuni-sama. It has just come to my attention that Mirumoto Sozen... probably isn't the best choice to be my second at this duel. I humbly request to change my second for this final duel."
Kan spends a 2 void points for the One With All Kiho, one for each magistrate; he auto-succeeds on his etiquette rolls to convince each of them without rolling!
"WHAT?!" Sozen would yell loudly, as Sayoko would grin. The two magistrates would look to each other, then back at Kan... and not saying anything at all.
"This is absurd! He can't... you just don't... this isn't..." Sozen continued to protest as he made his way through the crowd to-
"Kakita Zanzen-san. I would be honored if you dueled on my behalf against Sayoko for this final duel." Kan turn and bow deeply to the Kakita.
Kan spends his last void for +1k1 and raises 3 times on his Etiquette (Courtesy) to petition for Zanzen to duel on his behalf. Result 38 -15 (raise penalty) = 23 with 3 raises

@ Iaijutsu Interruption Part 2:
Sozen would stop as he made his way through the crowd, hearing the exchange. He did fall silent, however, and protested no longer.
"It doesn't matter. I shall stand against anyone who stands before me," Sayoko would say, stepping forward once to show her determination.
"It's settled. The final match will be Horiuchi Sayoko on behalf of Doji Koan, versus Kakita Zanzen, on behalf of Kan." Benjiro would sheath his sword, taking a step back to allow the two duelists their space.
"... fine, whatever, I don't care anymore," Raicho would say, giving them her blessing as she waved one hand dismissively, walking away and refusing to watch.
Assessment
Sayoko would approach the center of the dueling area, eyeing up Zanzen. "My methods may be unpopular, but I am not wrong. By defeating you, I will prove it," she would say to Zanzen. "I will show you and everyone else by holding nothing back."
Sayoko's roll will be made public, so the kami's will can be known to all!
Sayoko raises once, to learn Zanzen's remaining void points and Void. Result: 13 vs TN 10

@ Iaijutsu Final Duel:
As a swift, clean slice would slash across Sayoko's abdomen, she would grit her teeth and draw her own blade anyways, attempting to extract one last strike with her sword, one last bit of blood.
Reflexes/Iaijutsu, both free raises and void point for last extra raise for called shot to the head: Reflexes/Iaijutsu of 9 vs TN 31
However, as the blade would sail forward, Zanzen was far too agile, too focused, and easily leaned back away from the arc of the swing, escaping any blow whatsoever.
"Sayoko-san!" Gemmei would call out as Benjiro again went for his sword.
"Hmph." Taking a step back, Sayoko sheathed her katana, before pulling it from her obi and tossing the entire weapon to Benjiro casually. "That's it, then. In the end, it didn't work out." Her eyes had not left Zanzen's, any semblance of pleasantness gone from her face. "People like me, with promising futures, don't become killers for no reason. It's people like Koan that turn us this way. I have no regrets for what I've done this past week. You might look at it as me taking one person's life. In truth, I've saved countless others from becoming like me. You'll thank me one day."
"That's enough, Sayoko-san. Please, go peaceful with us, as you promised." Benjiro would say to her. Turning to face him, she would nod. Several Daidoji surrounded her, and Raicho would cross her arms over her chest, overseeing the escort of Sayoko away from the dueling area.
"With that, the tournament has ended. The winner is Kan!" Benjiro would announce, and after a short delay, applauds would sound, as the humble monk would bow his head to the magistrate in acknowledgment.
WINNER: Kakita Zanzen, on behalf of Kan
