*Kero soon comes to Tam*

*Kero goes in, picking a smaller room, perfect for a cat his size...it even has a bed for a kid...it appears to have once been a nursery...and Kero is already looking at it, wondering how to refurnish it...*

tam sends a youngster over to the inn to have their things brought over and goes to inspect the little sitting garden... it's really quite small, no more than 8 foot wide along the width of the back of the cottage but it has a small fire pit and a small but well stocked herb garden along the fence.... around the pit is several rough cut chairs and benches....

*Kero starts his work on his room, first stripping out all the rot with his claws...and pulling any boards that are not perfectly sound out...*

for the most part the cottage is really quite sound... so most of his work is redecorating and very little repair... and as it has a stone exterior, it is easy to maintain....

*Tis true...Kero soon has his room to his standards...he goes and sniffs out some nails, hammering them into the walls so he can hang up his blade*

lovely decoration there... says tam from the door way... he has his jacket off, his shirt sleeves rolled up, and a rag in his hand... i'm going over to the inn to see iffin i can purchase a few sundries... the market won't be held for a few days and we still need to eat... but since i've paid so much on this place out of pocket... i think eating out is going to be a bit out of our budget for a few days... until we get this place furnished...

*Kero asks Tam if he could pull out his chest, and put it in the corner he indicates*
PostPosted: Fri Jul 31, 2009 7:55 pm

Tam nods and reaches into his air pocket for the chest. He places it where Kerobian indicated and gives the cub a fond pat on the head. Any requests?" he asks walking to the door. Oh, and could you check out the small store room in the cellar? I haven't made my way down there yet. We need cooking utensils, a bathing tub, and eating ware. But if we can scrounge it up first, I'd be grateful."

Before he leaves, Tams hums a well-being tune under his breath to keep the cub safe. Putting down roots had it upside, but it also had a very huge downside as well, as it kept him in one place and a prime target for a certain unscrupulous suitor.

*Kero goes over to the chest, opening its varnished lid...rifling through the refues he keeps in there...as a disguise for his true treasures...he extracts three crystals...one a nugget of ore, so yellow it resembles a pat of butter...one a crystal so dark blue it passes for black...and one an ovoid stone, milky white, that seems to glow with moonlight...he sets these on the small bed that had came with the house, then moves to where Tam had asked, taking measurements and noting what is needed...he draws up a list for Tam as he goes...then, when he is done, moves to examine what curios had been left...he gathers a few of them to present to Tam...a board of checkered black and white, covered in thirty-two various pieces....a flat board with a handle, set in the hallway...his question thereof of what was it doing there...finally...he puts forth a small book...labeled Kama Sutra...when Tam comes back, he gives him the list, which is rather long...and pushes those three items towards him...*

Sira...what exactly are these things? I know what the board is...but what is a sandwhich board doing in the hallway? And what on earth is this book...I can't open it...

Tam looks at the book and snatches it up. "Ummm, that's a book of human exercises..." he explains blushing a furious scarlet. Then he looks at the black and white board and smiles. "And that is a gaming board. Ye didn't happen to find several small pieces with it, did ye, either round black or red coin shaped pieces or items that looked like knights and kings, and such? Did ye locate any cooking utensils or a tub anywhere?"

He secrets the book in his jacket and then unloads the items he had managed to purchase from the inn, placing them on the bare shelves in the kitchen area. "I wasn't sure if ye'd find any or not, so I only bought stuff we can cook with our traveling gear."

*Kero goes to the room where he had found the board, grabbing the small box of pieces, shaped both like coins and minature knights and kings...bringing it back to Talesian, he hands him the ornately carved container*

Sira...I did find one cooking utensil...*Points to the small sandwhich board in the corner*...I know it is used to roast sandwhiches in an oven...but this cottage has no oven...and it was hanging in the hallway....what gives...do you think it's a rare wood....and we could sell it?
PostPosted: Fri Jul 31, 2009 8:45 pm

Tam thinks for a moment then laughs out loud. "I know what it is for." he says flourishing it over his head. "It is for spanking little troublesome cubs..." then he sobers and smiles to show he's kidding. "Actually, in villages this small, many people use a common oven for baking. I bet it was used to carry dough or stew pots to the oven... but as it does have a small baking shelf in the hearth, I think we can survive without doing so. So if ye want to try and sell it ye can, but I don't think it will bring over much."

He looks about and sighs. "There is no bed upin the loft, so I'll curl up at the hearth tonight and try to run one down tomorrow. I may have to have one crafted. Some of the beds we've been in of late have been on the short side. It would be nice to stretch out for a chnage."

*After the paleness had drained from Kero's face, he makes a smartass comment to Tam*

Very funny, Sira...you wouldn't smack me with one of those...no matter how naughty I was...

*After hearing Tam's complaint about beds, Kero takes him, wrapping his tail around his wrist and pulling him into his room...he points to his bed...which is soft and comfortable...as much as he could make it*

I'm much more comfortable on the hearth than you will be, Sira...my bed may be short...but it is still a bed...
