Tam merely shakes his head and sighs. "Ye know, Princess... I'm the bard and yet he's the one who gets so darn tied up in his music he becomes mind mazed. Ah well, he'll snap out of it eventually. Want to play a game or something? I'm getting rather bored sitting here. Not that I don't enjoy yer company cause I do... I'm so glad yer in here with me, but ye got to be bored half out of yer wits as well, sitting with an old fogey like me."

"What would ye like to know that ye can't ask him, yerself?" says Tam leaning back on his pillow. "Telling tales out of school isn't exactly my cup of tea."

Tam thinks for a bit then tells her the story of how Kero tried to design an everflowing tub for the water closet. "He was so certain he could tap into the right springs and bring hot water up to the surface like they do at the baths. And he did, but boy did he get people mad. Seems he managed to redirect all the hot water our way which wasn't his intention one tiny bit. Not only that, once he got it flowing here, he realized he didn't have a decent way to drain it away... so here we were drowning in hot water literally... it was just pouring out the water closet door and nothing I could do would stop it... and outside the door the mayor and the bath-keeper were knocking hoping to get Kero to come help them figure out what was wrong with the public baths' spring. As the town relies on the income those springs bring in... they weren't at all happy to find out he was the cause of their problems. It wasn't very funny then.... but it's funny now. Everyone teases him about it still. About how much he loves to bathe that he was trying to turn our house into a new bath for the town... He was always trying new things and not always asking permission to do so. That cub caused more trouble in a single season, then he did his entire lifetime... all because he read somewhere that his namesake was a great inventor."

Tam nods sagely. "Me, too, for that matter. Because I should have stopped him... I guess. Anyway. we had to fix everything and since it really is nicer to go to the public baths than to soak at home, I made him forget the idea. I mean, a nice long soak is relaxing and all and I love one just as much as he does... but well... you have been to the baths. Those pools are so fine, why bother building one of yer own... right?"

"And that is what I told him... Heck our hip tub may not be all that big, but general cleaning it's fine. But iffin I want to soak, I want to stretch out and relax, iffin ye know what I mean. Now, why don't ye go see what's fer lunch, kay?"Says Tam hiding a yawn behind his hand.

He pulls her onto his lap and scratches her ears. "I love you, too, Princess. Tell ye what. I'm really sleepy right now and knowing Kero, lunch is going to take a bit iffin he's just taken over, so why don't ye go see what everyone else is doing and I'll take a little nap. I promise I won't go any further than the water closet if I need to... fair enough?" he asks wondering why he felt so tired.

So Tam does what he's always done when faced with a sleepy cub, he curls up with her and snuggles close, closing his eyes with a weary yawn.
When Bezernia peeks into the room a short time later he finds them both fast asleep.
"Well... that worked better than I thought it would. He's out cold and so's yer daughter..." he tells Hopian as he tosses another log onto the fire. "I don't want to alarm anyone, but he's been bleeding power like a sieve. He keeps giving it away, without thinking he might need some fer himself. Not that that would stop him even iffin he knew he was hurting himself. I don't think the self preservation gene was put into his makeup..."
He sits down in Tam's easy chair and winces slightly, doing slow rotations with his shoulder. "I sure wish I was healing faster than this... I've been giving him some of my own energy at night while he sleeps... but I don't dare give too much as I need it myself to heal."
