My rage blinded me and my sword came free. The next thing I knew, I was outside hearing the lamentations of that man." Kojiro tensed, awaiting the Seppun's reaction.

@ Iaijutsu Investigations:
"If you think that's best, Hisashi-san..." Gemmei would nod to the Mantis, before disappearing back into the crowd to see if she could get to Sayoko.
Does Hisashi want to do any investigating on his own, or is he content waiting for word from Gemmei?

Benjiro would tap his index finger upon the pommel of his katana, standing in silence. Not a soul whispered, not wanting to incur any wrath themselves.
"You, you, and you. Get him out of here so he can recover in peace," Benjiro would speak up, gesturing towards the Daidoji guards who had come to watch. They would immediately do so without hesitation, two of them helping Naizen to his feet and the third leading them off.
"Here. This is your punishment." Benjiro would then suddenly shift his stance to a centered one quickly, drawing his blade before Kojiro had a chance!
Benjiro's Iaijutsu skill roll, with 3 raises to hit Kojiro's sleeve: 33 vs TN 30
With a quick slice, a large length of fabric would fall from Kojiro's right arm, drifting to the ground as gently as a petal.
"Use that to bind your eyes. You will be dueling with this from this moment on. If you fail to overcome any of your next three opponents with this handicap, then your temper and thoughtlessness cost you your victory at this tournament."

@Iaijutsu Competition.
Kojiro would nod and replace his mask with his kimono sleeve. He gritted his teeth as he unsteadily walked towards where he was sure Kaiu Kagae was waiting for him. Kojiro had not made his strike and was wondering vaguely where the duel stood.

Hisashi would turn around to try and see what was going on just in time to see Benjiro mete out his punishment to... Kojiro!?
He would stand dumbstruck for a moment as he watched the Scorpion receive his order of blindness from the magistrate.
Had... had the kindly young Kojiro murdered an innocent for something as trivial as spilling tea?! And a defenseless peasant woman at that!
"...Kuso..."
Cursing under his breath, he would try and make sense of what was going on and what to do about it - if he could do anything other than watch.

As Kojiro stumbled back to the dueling area, Soshi Maru would suddenly leap up, calling out: "Kojiro-san!"
"Stay back. This is his challenge now." Seppun Benjiro would sternly tell her, stepping to the side to block her path to him.
"But he can't see! He needs me to-
And Kojiro, with his sight gone, would hear an audible SLAP and the sound of somebody hitting the ground.
"Soshi Maru, you've helped Bayushi Kojiro enough, don't you think? Don't think us magistrates aren't aware of the going-ons of our own jurisdiction. Now, stay here, before I arrest you for obstruction of justice."
Turning his head, he would call out to his personal servant. "Hyoturu, get Kojiro oriented before he ends up dueling the wall."

@ Iaijutsu Duel, Attempt #2:
Bayushi Kojiro, Kaiu Kagae! The result of the Assessment phase still stands, and Kojiro still has the option of focusing first or second. Take it from there, with the same chosen traits applied.
Bayushi Kojiro, give me a Perception/Investigation (Notice) roll vs TN 15 each round, or the +20 TN penalty will apply for that round for your Focus roll.
Kaiu Kagae, the TN of all your focus/strike rolls are reduced by 15.
((Also, Kagae, choose a trait for Kojiro to focus with.))

@The Iaijutsu Duel
Kojiro grimaced as he heard sound of skin striking skin and the body falling. "It will be alright, Maru-san. I'd request that they'd let you watch over Naizen-san, but Benjiro sounds rather adamant. Don't worry. I can handle this much, I think."
The Scorpion let himself be guided to the appropriate position and tried to listen to his opponents movements and hoped that he could feel perhaps a subtle shifting of the Crab's feet before he struck.

Kagae still focuses first.

@ Iaijutsu Duels:
He watched, both the duels and the interruption. Sayoko's attitude didn't sit well with him. A duel ALWAYS mattered. Denbe's speed kept impressing him, but the flaws in his stance and style screamed in the Crane's mind. Then the interruption by the peasant didn't help. A formal dueling event and so much going WRONG.
He turned and shifted through the crowd. Zanzen had his own matters to worry about and he should look in on Koan and inform him of his current win.

Kagae realizing he was now facing a blind enemy reached down and picked up a small rock and flicked it away from himself to somewhere around Kojiro. Then took up his stance as silently as possible beginning to focus.

(Kojiro uses his void as it is suitable)

"Please. I'm not a scared little rabbit about to jump away from some little pebble you tossed, Kagae-san!" Kojiro tried to calm himself and kept his attention on the sound of the Crab's foot steps.

Kagae would smirk and try to hold in a laugh as he continued to focus on Kojiro dragging his front foot back in slightly realising his stance may be a little too wide if he tried to strike now.

Kagae would watch the sword swing past his face as it nearly hit him and quickly drew his sword without a shout nicking kojiro on his cheek.
