tam takes the rag he's been scrubbing his face with and tosses it at kerobian... then he flounces out of the room with a loud sniff which sends the cook into gales of laughter...

watch yer mouth, boy... says tam in a high falsetto... oh i will have to take ye over my knee and teach ye some manners... he batted his eyes at kero as though he was a harlot from over in the red light district and skipped up the stairs... stumbling to a red faced halt as a door some two rooms before theirs opens and an elderly matron practically practically knocks him off his feet... the woman squeals with alarm and goes to help him up, takers one look at his face and runs back into her room... tam sighs and climbs to his feet rubbing his backside... oh great... now i've given the dear old bat nightmares for the rest of her life... he grumbles testily....

go away... comes the falsetto voice... but the door opens once more and he lets the cub in... laugh at me will ye... he grumbles going over to the wash stand and pouring the basin full of clean water, he digs out some soap and begins to clean his face....

tam laughs and picks him up rubbing his tummy and threatening to tickle him if he doesn't behave... i can't believe ye let me sleep today... he says shaking his head... why did ye go and do that... i was going to take ye fishing again... did ye have fun playing in town?... i bet it was a bit busy around there, what with the harvest coming in and all....
tam pauses and hugs the cub close... ye know.. we really should think of finding a place to stay for the winter.... i certainly don't want what we did last year... that castle was warm and they fed us well, but all that bowing and scraping... and having to play for lord maric's lady every time she had one of her non-existent headaches was a bit more than i needed at the time... i kept waiting for him to notice how hard she was chasing me... like a hound in heat... he shudders... nope... i don't want to do that again... nerve wracking it was....

Well...it's May right now...what say we start back this way around August...that should put us here as Autumn ends...and I can mine any metals we need...to pay for things...
