I saw THE FOG

Yeah it was good but i'm a fraidy cat so it sort of creeped me out.

Silent Hill is really true to the games; however, its funny that people just think that if they play any Silent Hill, they'll instantly understand what is going on. No, you have to have at least read the storyline of the first Silent Hill to get whats going on because only elements (aka monsters and music) of all the games are in the movie. At least knowing about the first game makes the storyline 10 times easier to understand even though it differs a bit from the game.

When I say true to the games, the 'nightmare' world is very similar to the games and so is the soundtrack, hell, the soundtrack is from the games. I like how it isn't like other movies and doesn't take the mood of the actual game and screw it up like how the Resident Evil movies take mainly only the virus and Racoon City ideas and the rest becomes a quite silly action stunt movie. However, I think the games can be tons scarrier because if you've lived through the 'nightmare' world in the games, then the movie is just a walk in the park.

I don't want to spoil anything but the main parts you'll need to understand before watching the movie is that first, the main difference between the game and movie is the role the religion plays, their role is a bit different than in the game. Also, know that there are four different 'versions' of the city of Silent Hill that you will see in the movie, Regular Silent Hill, Foggy Silent Hill, Darkness Silent Hill, and Flashback Silent Hill (a like 5-10 minute story explanation close to the end of the movie). The storyline and the different versions of Silent Hill is what confuses people the most.

I liked it so just as long as you know about Silent Hill 1, you should be fine.

In mine (and many others') opinion, it has to be the best video game to movie adaptation but it isn't what you'll call an amazing video. The acting is a little dull and in some areas it kind of drags on. However, it could have been filled with many more sudden scares but in that regard, it stays true with the games by not having things just jump out in every corner. I mean, what is more scarier than walking around in the game and seeing just totally bizzar stuff that wont attack you, but will make scary noises and just look totally gross.

Memoirs of a Geisha was a great movie in my oppion. 3nodding
