Nodding slightly, Mars lingered for a second or two before picking up her bag and finally shuffling quietly forwards in order to find a seat she would find suitable. She didn't like back row seats, nor being in the center of the room... The middle always got on her nerves and the right side always felt too cramped.
Her face lit up in a small smile as she found a good spot; front row, farthest to the left. Mars quickly assumed her spot, dropping her bag on the tabletop before her. Crossing her arms and propping one booted leg atop the other, Mars sighed quietly. She would normally have skipped class on days like this, but she was actually more intrigued by checking out her new surroundings than lying around in misery. And so she was here.
As she took in the room in full, she watched the room began to fill up. Not too long after she had come in another student entered, wearing a traditional witches' hat and carrying a broom while sporting one of the school's uniforms. Of course, Mars had hers on as well, but this girl seemed to be having more of a problem than the faerie had faced. Glancing away, the new girl tugged at midnight locks, shielding her face behidn them as she laughed a little.

((So sorry about the absence! I've been having a bit of a writer's block and I've been out and about without internet access a lot since I got home.))
Bell stood quickly when Horatio asked her to, not wanting to get in the way of her readjustments to the room. She looked up when students actually began entering the class, glad to see that the class would have a few more students than the one before. It was one thing to have a small class with good access to the teacher, but a two person class seemed a bit too small even in her mind. She'd brought her own lunch and hadn't bothered to leave the classroom for lunch, eating the small sandwich she'd packed in the morning before going to her first class and sat around waiting for others.
She watched as two students came in short succession, entering the classroom and immediately asking whether the competent blond teacher was Horatio Tamaranth. It was almost funny how they asked the exact same question as they entered the classroom. The first one sat down in the front row at the left, and she followed suit as she realized that Horatio had finished her remodeling, sitting a couple of seats away in an attempt to give the girl a bit of privacy since her aura was looking slightly damped down, though not as badly as Horatio's had been when she'd first entered the classroom. After sitting, she looked at the witch who had entered last, noting how short her skirt seemed, and wondering why she had bothered to tailor the skirt when it was a perfectly suitable length before the tailoring. She shook her head a little and shrugged, pulling out a book as she waited for the class to begin.

. .{{I'm going to allow one more post from each character in Tamaranth's class before I start the class. I'm trying to give Miya time to get here, but if she's not soon...}}
Horatio watched the next student walk in the door, and eyed her skirt funnily. It looked familiar, but it took a moment before recognition reached her eyes. "Oh yes. Definitely new to the school. Wearing the uniform, even. I don't know why they give those things out any more. They get thrown away after the first week. No one wears them."
By now, the instant when her face slackened must have been familiar to Bell, and after a second, her smile was back in place. "Yes, Miss Dixon, I'm Horatio. You can call me by my first or my last name, whichever you prefer. Welcome to the class! I do hope you'll make your presence here a regular phenomenon." The whole little speech was given with a flippant, if joyful, tone. . .

[[Warning: Short Post]]
Keeping herself tuned in with the conversation at hand, Mars noted a few things she found quite interesting... Apparently, nobody wore their uniforms, so it wouldn't matter much if she did either. Of course, she wasn't wearing it exactly within dress code limits at the moment, either, seeing as she only had the top on, and just wore a pair of her own pants to match... But either way. And from the way this Horatio spoke, class attendance was poor.
That was something she didn't seem interested in partaking in, though. Even though she didn't mind missing class, where was she supposed to go just yet? Or do, even? This was a new school, and she would be placed with a whole new set of responsibilities. Right now, she was just skating through her classes to get acquainted and show her face. So while other students may not attend much, Mars would most likely be a regular.
For a while, at least.

Miya was already finished her food, and had just returned to her seat next to Pan (after returning her empty tray) when the bell rang. It caused the witch to jump, but she noticed that it had worse effects on her lycan friends. The others cleared out quickly, though there was only she and her group of friends remaining in the cafeteria.
Pan then spoke to her, telling her a bit about what she would need to do, assuring her that he was still up for taking her there. Miya blushed at his last question, realizing she wasn't sure. She figured she had forgotten her schedule in Kiala's class yesterday, so she really had no idea where she was supposed to be headed. After explaining this to him, she shyly asked, "Do you think they'll give me a new one?" referring to the office staff. He did say they were nice... "Hmm... Sh-should we get a juice box before we leave?" She giggled a little, wondering if he was serious about the juice comment.
((Miya will be late anyway~ Sorry to make you wait! I should have stated that earlier DD': Gomen!! Because I figure she'll be in the principal's office for a bit, then have a tiny bit of a hard time finding the room. Just to make things easier in case I can't get there fast enough. These are busy times D: ))

Evie winced when the bell sounded. Did that thing have to be so loud? She shook her head and returned her tray with Miya. Plopping back into her seat next to Ran the pard listened to Pan and Miya. Evie held back a sigh. It seemed she would be separated from her friends for a while. Unless..
"What do you have next, Ranofer?" Evie asked the man beside her with a smile. Evie herself had gym next. She wasn't looking forward to being alone, but if she had to of course she would. Maybe she would make more friends.
[Really short. Sorry ._.]

. .Pan giggled at Miya's response, and grabbed her shoulders to lead her to the office before the next bell. "Ah, we could, but then, there are other ways to bribe the good old Cyrano into giving you extras. I do believe I can handle it without the juice. If it were just you, though, I'd keep something fruity and liquid on hand. He's not a big fan of the ladies." He grinned widely, as he pushed open the door and a gust of chill autumn wind burst in.
"He's a real man's man, for a secretary. At any rate, you talk to the Chief about a class change, and I'll get you a crisp new schedule. Maybe even take you to class before I lead myself away to do whatever it is I'm doing today. Supposed to be in Rhetoric, but maybe I'll spend the afternoon watching you flouder about in a new atmosphere."
As an afterthought, he added, "Oh, yeah, that the principal, his name is Trelix, but you've prolly met him already. The secretary is Guidanci. Of course, if you're an obnoxious idiot such as myself, you could call them by their first names: Corinth Trelix and Cyrano Guidanci.". .

Sade smiled and nodded "Thank you" she said in the polite tone she'd been using and turned away. She'd noticed how Horatio's face had slackened considerably but hadn't thought to mention it. Prying wasn't her way, she hated people who pried anyway so why would she do it to other people? She was relieved about the slacking dress code and couldn't help but smile as she walked over to a front row seat near the other people but not too close. The seat was almost directly in the middle of the room and she placed her messenger bag on the left side of the table then propped her broomstick on the right side. She did this as though she was surrounding herself so no one else would bother her. In truth she didn't even think of it like that, she just preferred everything to be well placed and in positions where she could easily reach them.
Sitting down she tried in vain to pull the skirt over her thighs then pursed her lips in annoyance when it didn't work properly "It burns tonight" she vowed in a dark mutter as she crossed her ankles in order to hide anything that the short skirt wanted to show. 'Then I'll send the remains to Paige with a little note that tells her just what I think of her tampering with my clothes' she thought with a private little smirk even though she knew that it wouldn't get through to her. Messing with her siblings was about the only things Paige enjoyed more than messing with her siblings clothing.
'The only reason she messes with our clothes is so she can mess with us' Sade thought, not for the first time as she propped her elbow on the desk and placed her chin on her palm before she bent down to her bag and took out a notebook with a pentagram on the front and a pencil, opening the notebook the words were printed in the Witch's Code and looked like a journal with the way each entry was placed. With the pencil in hand she wrote the date above her new entry. Then she continued to describe how her day had been starting with getting up to being in the class room at the moment all in fluent and easy Witch's Code.

((Sorry for the short post; I couldn't think of much to write.))
Bell shook her head slightly at Horatio, wondering why she had to go and tell students that she expected them to skip. Was it just that she liked having really small classes and wanted to weed out the one who cared from the ones who didn't? There must have been easier ways to do that than not very subtly telling the students it was okay to skip her class. The girl in her witch's hat with her broom sat down, and Bell looked over at her curiously. It was really odd to see the Otherfolk playing to the roles the humans had given them in their Hollywood movies; in fact most Otherfolk despised the stereotypes given by movies. It was rather strange to see this one playing so nearly to the image that witch's were given in movies. She shrugged then, and turned her attention back to Horatio. She was here to learn about controlling auras, and wondering about other students' personal habits wouldn't teach her anything.

Sade could feel a girl staring at her and could all but imagine what she was thinking. Probably thinking about her appearance but Sade didn't mind, well actually she didn't care. All the things she had served her some purpose or another, the broomstick was here mainly because she liked it and it was easier to fly with. That was about the only thing she'd learned to somewhat control outside of a school. The broomstick was light and the puffed out straw at the end made it easier for her to push it with the wind. She'd spent years practicing on how to do this properly and still didn't trust it enough to go above ten feet in the air. She'd fallen twice on the way here but, along with learning how to fly she'd learned how to fall as well. One bad thing to teaching herself how to fly was that she'd forgotten to train everything else. In reaction flying was about the best skill she had but that's why she'd come her wasn't it?
As for the hat was more for a personal reason. A few years ago Paige had made all of her siblings witch hats as a joke. Her other siblings had laughed and had worn them as a joke as Paige had intended. Sade however, put hers on and liked the way it looked. Since then she has continued to wear the hat Paige had made her. Of course now that she was in school she would have to send it back to Paige for any touch ups it needed. That would be annoying but she didn't want it to rip or tear and she wouldn't let anyone else tamper with it. Reflecting back on this she wrote it all down in the journal then ended the entry with her own insignia before closing the notebook and focusing on Horatio.

. .[[Nothing but dialogue. *phew* Horatio can certain talk if you don't interrupt her...]]
Horatio smiled at each of the other students who filtered into the room slowly. Many were first year kids, but there were a few here who humored her with their presence, and some who had shown they actually wanted to learn. The blonde woman say the curiosity reflected in Bell's aura, and wondered briefly what had caused it, but chose not to ask. Besides, all but three of the seats were full, and her roster said there was only one student missing, well one non-lycan... some little Witch girl. Waerloga of the elements. They all seemed to be elementalists anymore. What had ever happened to the necromancers?
Poor Momo must be all alone. I'll have to ask her about that tonight, when she feeds my sorry a** again.
"Welcome, either for the first time or because you didn't do well enough to get into your segregated by species classes, to Basic Ability Management. While you seem to have done rather well about grouping yourselves by race- which in fact worries me as far as the social climate at this silly school is concerned- I'm going to have to ask you and you," she gestured at one of the few lycans in the room and her little vampire associate, "to move there, and there. Sorry, but it's easier to manage your auras and keep you from frying yourselves that way. You can socialize later. There's time.
"So, first things first, today is the starting class ,and as I'm sure you've all learned from years of experience, first hand or in books and television shows, that means cutesy little introductions. My name is Horatio Tamaranth, and you can call me by either, that's fine. To date, I'm this schools only Techmage, so if you have any difficulties with anything from lights, to plumbing, to your computers if you have them, you'll come to me.
"I'm also the only mage on campus with extensive experience in managing multiple auras, which is why I teach this class, just to let you know. You'll start wondering why someone as irreparably irresponsible as me was put in charge of anything, after the first week or so. You'll find I comment alot on the woeful state of my classroom being painfully empty all the time: every subject I teach is nothing that you couldn't learn on your own, if you were thus inclined, so I do not enforce attendance. Just don't get caught skipping by that silly principal of ours. He likes to take it out on me. At any rate, I cancel often enough to work on personal projects, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
"That strikes me as roughly everything you need to know." She finished briskly, feeling much more organized and empowered by the presence of young minds to mold. Ability classes were always better organized and maintained than her tech classes were.
"So, any volunteers for the next ranting self introduction, or shall I pick someone?". .

Sade didn't say anything, in fact she wasn't even looking at Horatio. She was of course writing in her journal again putting down everything on her first day including Horatio's little speech. So even though it didn't look like she was listening she was and had no intention of standing up to speak.
It wasn't that she didn't speak well in front of people. It was quite the opposite really, she had a good loud voice when she wanted that was always heard and drew attention from any peers. That didn't, however, mean that she liked it. She hated drawing attention to herself just about as much as she hated prying. Thinking about it though she surmised that it was inevitable that she stand up and speak. Knowing this she decided that if she wasn't picked first she would go second in order to get it over with.
Watching Horatio now she wrote out her own little speech in her head. I'll say my name, then my race (even though it's obvious), after that I will tell them my elements and then a brief introduction of my family. Pleased with it she would've nodded if she hadn't been in a full room where it would be noticed. Her plans made the speech short and right to the point with little descriptions, just how she liked it.

Miya blushed when she felt Pan's hands on her shoulders as he started to lead her along, and blinked as he described the staff there. The witchling wasn't sure how she would interact with them, but hoped they would all like her. She knew she would have to try her best to be as polite as possible!
She shivered and blushed as she felt the brisk autumn wind blow right up her skirt, her hands quickly moving to hold it down. She looked up at Pan when he continued speaking, nodding shyly to his words. She would like it if he took her to class, but at the same time, she didn't want to cause him to be late to class too! She would talk to him about it when they got there.
The witch child giggled and looked up at Pan. "You're not obnoxious! J-just... outgoing!" She blushed more. She was never one to agree or just let someone put themselves down, but she... well she kind of liked Pan, and she hoped she wasn't revealing herself through it. "I-I think I'll just use last names." She smiled shyly, nervous about seeing them. She tried to remember if she had met Mr. Trelix, but figured she'd know when she saw him. She had phoned the school last year when she wanted to join... Maybe she had spoken to him?

{{Christmas break is busy for me. I’m not going on hiatus, but I’ll get to posting when I have time. No promises.}}
Ranofer watched Pan and Miya head for the door with indifference after the bell had signaled them for a class change. The demon wasn’t worried at all, there was the whole school year to catch the little mouse and his shy little witch as well. Confidence was hardly needed in the situation. As for the pard, well, it was obvious that she was a bit greedy for his company. Turning towards her as she spoke, he silently dreaded the fact that she would be in his third class each day, though his expression never shown such a thing. “Next? Well, since Kiala’s off gallivanting in the woods, I’ve got the rest of the day off,” a smirk graced his lips as he looked down at the pard, though the real amusement came from the thought of a primal, hardly clothed Kiala running around in the trees. ‘I’d gladly be the Tarzan to her Jane,’ he snickered mentally.
Now he was doomed to hang around with Evie, for the remainder of the class period, at the least. He had hoped that the group of three would leave together so he could keep a search going and add to his list of prey. For the length of two days he’d only managed to find about ten possible students, and that wasn’t his best work. He’d have to get a move on, but with Evie attached to his side that was nearly impossible. It seemed he would have to deal with her trailing him around for today. It would give him time to work on her a bit, though he was pretty sure she could easily be wrapped around his finger.
“So, you up for spending some time with me? Or do you have better things to do?” he smiled that devilishly, charming smile at her and awaited her response.

“I’ll find Avi after class,” Bennie muttered as she observed her outdoor surroundings, feeling the cold autumn breeze against her bare arms. ‘The odds are that he’s either locked himself up in his room, he’s eating in the cafeteria, or he’s somewhere in the woods,’ Bennie hoped that when she got out of Rhetoric he’d be in one of the first two. If Avi were in the woods, the odds of finding him by herself would be slim, but he’d probably be able to sense her in the mass of trees somehow. She didn’t want to risk it though, she knew lycanthropes were easily angered and sensitive during the full moon phase, so she really hoped she’d find him on school grounds. “Oh well,” the nymph said aloud, then began walking, her bare, webbed feet sinking slightly in the moist ground. The rain from yesterday seemed to soften the earth.
Bennie pushed the doors open and quickly made her way through the busy hallways of the school building. Soon enough, she found the designated room and entered with a bit of precaution. There seemed to be no one in the room yet, so she decided to get herself situated in a desk. May Goreno was supposed to be her teacher for this course, and Bennie made sure to listen to various teacher gossip to learn that she was a nymph such as herself, and this was her first year of teaching at St. Francis. She also acquired the knowledge that this particular woman was quite bubbly and outgoing, so she wasn’t too worried about dealing with an overly strict professor. Her teaching style, though, was undetermined, and Bennie would just have to wait and see.
