You could blow into the tube or you could tie the water bottle to the shoes laces, melt the bottle that that it fits, and use the hot sticky plastic to pick up the ball.

The tube is embedded in concrete, so blowing won't work. sad
Also, you have no tool to burn the bottle. sad

I suppose I'll give the answer if it's not solved by Tuesday, one week after I posted.

The only thing I can think of is that you pour the water into the pipe, causing the ball to float up. But since you also mentioned a shoelace and the ping-pong paddle, I'm guessing that the answer will involve ALL of these items, so...I am at a loss. MacGyver I ain't! blaugh I'll have to think about this some more.

Actually, you're right!!
I just said the items you had with you, not what you had to use.

The answer really is the water from the bottle! ^_^

You mean I got it right??? surprised

Or did you mean that the water was just PART of the answer?
PostPosted: Sun Oct 17, 2010 3:27 pm

You got it right!

Here's a riddle I find very amusing:

Inside a house of green,
with the walls, floors and air red,
there sleep many black babies,
waiting to leave the home.
It has kept them safe and fed,
to start their own lives,
with a green and red home.

(I also like figuring riddles out, so some one else post another one too xD)

Yay! *does Snoopy-esque happy dance*

As for your new one, I'll have to think about that. I'm actually going to log off in a minute so I can work on my knitting project (a shawl I'm making for a friend), and knitting sometimes helps me think. So...yeah. Maybe I'll figure it out. I love riddles and brainteasers. mrgreen

Wow, that was fast.
Yes, it's watermelon. xD

whee Yay!

I actually can't think of any riddles or brainteasers off the top of my head. I've heard a lot over the years, but I can't remember any that haven't already been on this thread. I'll have to look and see if I can find some more.

I can remember a few, but most of them are somewhat old and age makes them easy.
Lets try another one:

What common English word will describe a person or thing as not being found in any place and yet with no changes other than a space between syllables, will correctly describe that person or thing as being actually present at this very moment?

NOWHERE/NOW HERE

Today a woman shot her husband, dunked him in chemicals and then in water, and THEN hung him, and yet the husband and wife are both alive and well, and no crime has been committed. Explain!

A woman developed a photograph she took of her husband, and then hung it on the wall. Want to know what the craziest part about that riddle is? The word "hung" was a dead giveaway. A picture is hung, but a person is hanged. biggrin

I need to find a new riddle to post.

surprised This thread was revived!
Ok, a few ones:

1) If you have it, you want to share it. If you share it, you don't have it. What is it?
2) A man builds a house with all 4 sides facing south. A bear walks past the house. What color is the bear?
3) How many bricks does it take to complete a building made of bricks?
4) What happened in the middle of the twentieth century that will not happen again for 4,000 years?
5) How much dirt is in a hole 4 feet deep and 2 feet wide?

1. A secret
2. White (because the house is on the North Pole)
3. I'm guessing just one?
4. I have no clue--somebody else can take a guess at this one!
5. None!

Okay, since I've hogged most of the guesses for Ric's riddles, I'll go find some more riddles to post so everybody has a chance to guess! sweatdrop
