Eula opened her mouth to reply, then closed it again, unsure of how to reply. "Well, the feeling you described sometimes means you... er... like that particular creature... more. Or are attracted to them." Her last sentence reassured her a little... it was more plausible. Jamie was a very attractive hare, it made sense.

"Most creatures are more attracted to particular others every now and then. It's normal." She thought for a second. "Do you understand having stronger feelings for someone? Even if you haven't felt it yourself you must've..." She sighed, thinking for another moment. "You know that issue you have with Tannia? She had a hard time forgiving you because she's in love, she cares about Turan more than everyone else. Do you get it?"

She felt awkward giving the explanation. Several times she almost used herself as an example but didn't feel like being thrown back into Redwall's gossip ring as the choice topic.

::By her expression, it didn't seem it was all sinking in that well on her... however... Eula was most likely going to regret the example she'd used their in her steed as Kusaa slowly turned it over in her head...::

So... if Tannia didn't love Turan any more... she would forgive me...?

Yes?

::It was DEFINITELY going to be regreatable...::

((Back, was playing a game of Sorry with my family. I won, hehe.))

A startled expression crossed Eula's face. Perhaps Kusaa didn't realize how that sounded coming out of her mouth. "She won't stop loving Turan, Kusaa," she replied quickly. "They love each other, and now they're married. Nothing's going to change that."

She winced a little. "Look, I'm sorry, but better to parish the thought of her forgiving you instead of brooding on the idea that she'd stop loving Turan."

::There was again a pause... and Kusaa only came out with one thing from her maw as she lay sprawled there:: Oh. ::It was definitely a very deflated sound, and indeed perhaps Kusaa didn't realise the gravity of what she'd just said, Eula had already seemingly failed to explain any kind of 'special' relationship to her::

::She instead thought about the ideas she'd been trying to introduce herself, pondering over Eula's explanations of them, tried to make some kind of sense she could summarise to herself and explain her own irrational behaviour before she sighed audibly and held her eyes closed for a few moments...::

Relations are complicated, aren't they?

((I hate the SAT!!! scream ))

Eula gave a snort of laughter there, not even able to supress a grin at Kusaa's statement. "I think you landed on the biggest issues we all have - relationships. They are very complicated."

She was thoughtful for a few moments, looking listlessly across the Woodlands. "I guess it's just a learning process. No one's really going to be able to teach you how to deal with others. Certainly not I. I've a history of butting heads with everyone else - wouldn't have it any other way."

::Finally Kusaa sat up with a sigh again, a paw ruffling through her headfur slightly as she too stared out at the view, and then looked back at Eula, finally accepting an answer that sounded like it made sense:: Thank you...

I suppose I'd best find some solace for the day to sleep within... I imagine if I go anywhere, I'll find myself with a few beasts looking for me and all... but...would you mind carrying a message to the Abbess for me perhaps...?

Eula rested her elbow on the ramparts, cupping her chin in her paws as she gazed away. She flicked a sideways glance at Kusaa. She lazily raised one-shoulder in a half-shrug. "Sure," she said, hardly able to hold back a yawn when the bat mentioned sleep.

She hadn't gotten much sleep herself. She'd stayed up late with the celebration and had even helped to clean everything up after the others had gone to bed. Her charitable demeanor probably wouldn't last very long anyway. Then, although dead tired from all her dancing, she mostly stayed up in her room, reading and drawing by candlelight, wanting to make sure she didn't sleep past saying bye to Jamie.

Now she waited for Kusaa to give her whatever the message for Faith was.

::Kusaa thought carefully for a few moments before she submitted her little message, flapping her wings experimentally::

Please thank our abbess for a grand feast - it was one thing I never had the chance to inform her...

::And up she went into the air, moving back towards the abbey rooftop:: And if she needs me, Whisper will surely find me!

::And then, within moments, Eula was alone again... no questions had been raised upon Jamie after Eula had succeeded on swinging the conversation at Kusaa... what was there really to think about the bat when it seemed she kept getting stranger and stranger all the time?::

::It seemed like something you expected, but couldn't really prepare for, but was Eula going to be prepared for what the OTHERS would ask about Jamie? That was the question::

((^^; FF? To when everybeast's awake, lol?))

"Sure thing," Eula agreed, watching the bat flap off. It was still the wee hours of the morning, so she stayed up there alone for awhile after, watching the day grow brighter.

When she started hearing the soft bristling of creatures waking and getting their day started, she headed down the stairs to the Great Hall. One of the first there for breakfast, she made herself a plate and took a seat at the large table, eating slowly. She was depending on a good meal to give her energy for the day that she had already lessened from her lack of sleep.

She sat quietly, watching the dining hall fill up with drowzy Redwallers.

::It seemed it was always the same Redwallers who would get up first, day in, day out, every day::

::Some had a practised routine, some had jobs where they were much relied upon to always be at service and ready, willing and awaiting, so that was probably why Jasmine brought a sleeping Faith to the table, leaving her to wake so she could soon be fed while early morning guards moved to the ramparts with small packed breakfasts::

::Jasmine seemed particularly live and well considering her work, and the times of day she often saw into her duties as head nurse of the infirmary, how she managed so few hours sleep was near boggling, unless she snuck casual naps in here and there...::

::But she passed Eula with a hearty nod on her way to pick up food:: Early riser, aren't you Eula?

I'd have to confess I haven't seen you up as early as this before...

Eula watched Jasmine go by and replied with a small shrug. "I've always been an early riser," she said casually, poking half-heartedly at a bit of a scone. "I'm usually running or some other routine before I eat though."

She lifted her cup, taking a lingering sip of water as she looked across the hall. "Admittedly I wouldn't normally be up so early after last night's events, but I wanted to say bye to Jamie. He left back for the mountain this morning."

Donato came into the Great Hall a few moments later. He didn't seem terribly tired - he hadn't danced a step last night, but had enjoyed himself nonetheless in watching the dancers and laughing at the Dibbuns' antics. He made his way to the table where Eula and Jasmine were and sat down. "Morning," he said with a smile.

::A small group of beasts came in not long after Donato, all up and wanting something in their hungry bellies to start the new day. They each went their separate ways, taking a seat at the table and beginning to chat with familiar faces on perhaps the events of last night.

It should be noted, though, that among the group was a familiar, yet somewhat tired looking face. Not a tired where one needed to be put to sleep. Just a sort of tired where you just needed a good sit down and a hot meal in your belly.
It had been a long trip, after all...::

((It's a bloody frickin miracle! All four of us posting IN A ROW.... kinda. And with no meddling from yours truly! *...coughcough...*))

Eula turned her glance away from Jasmine to Donato, smiling in return. "Good morning to you. You're up early."

She scooted her chair over a bit, a gesture used as an invitation for Donato to take a seat next to her. When she moved a little she was able to get a better look past him, at the group of creatures meandering sleepily into the hall. She was about to return to her own food when she had to do a quick double-take at the new arrivals....

...Seth?

She suddenly felt an immense relief, a kind of lift of the burden she'd felt when Jamie had left that morning. It had little to do with it actually being Seth than what he ultimately represented. Her feeling of dejection this morning had been partly for Jamie, but mostly it was her feeling of loss in her last tie to Salamandastron. It felt as if Jamie's leaving was also her final severed tie with her mountain home.

The arrival of a fellow Salamandastron hare was a much more welcome sight than she'd ever stoop to admitting. Not giving Donato or Jasmine an explanation, she quickly pushed her chair back from the table and hurried over to Seth.

She took a second to calm her mood so she could return to her normal dry and apathetic voice. "So you can't be bothered to give one little greeting before gallivanting off for food, eh?"

((Man, I love Eula.))

Donato took a seat next to Eula - "Yeah, a little." And then watched Eula jump up and hurry across the room. He watched her with raised eyebrows until he caught sight of Seth, then understood and smiled again. "Well, Jasmine. How are you this lovely day?"
