Tam grins at her. "So, does my suggestion sound feasible to you or not. It shouldn't be too hard of a thing to whip up?"

Tam nods. "But not until tomorrow, so the two of ye are going to have to take turns again keeping half an eye on them, I fear. I need to get the wood. I don't have what we need here."

"What sort of box are we talking about, dulcha?" asks Bez with a frown.

"More of a rather large bed with raised sides. One all five can sleep in comfortably." says Tam thoughtfully. "But the sides need to be short enough for Salunia to cross with ease and yet high enough to keep the babes corralled, so they don't wander into danger while everyone is asleep."

Tam eyes the two visiting gem children with a smile. "So Hope tells me that most of the gem children do not have children of their own, but tend to foster those who have no parents like me. Do you have young ones you care for?"

Tam nods his understanding. "I once felt strongly that way. But no longer. The more I'm around children, the more I've come to love them. I would welcome the chance to parent my own someday, but as I now am, I doubt truly it will happen. Once I roamed freely as a male, for the most part thought as a male, and as such fathered two cubs as such, though I've been forbidden any contact with them. That is a tale best left for another setting though. Needless to say, I was young and foolish and far far too full of myself. But now that I seem to be maturing along both sides of my physical being, to embrace one half of me so fully as to possibly losing the other... I do not know if I wish to risk it. There is good and bad in both sides of my nature and I know of no way to blend the two into a true viable form... at least not one where I could father or bear young. I suspect I am most stable in a neuter stage... one in which neither plays a dominant role. Therefore I will foster all who need me. A role taught to me well by my foster parents who do much the same."

Tam hugs them back. "You two are welcomed here.... anytime... don't forget that." he says warmly.

Bez nods with a smile. "Hopefully the next time ye come, the Brat will be up and about as well. He's usually as fit as horse, save for a serious case of bad fortune... man that cat seems to find more things to get hurt by or in...."

Tam snorts softly through his nose. "Curiosity, Bez... plain and simple. He needs to know... his is an active mind."

Tam coughs politely, but his eyes are twinkling merrily. "But look... here I want children and he has them.... doesn't that say something? If raising Kero was so hard, wouldn't it have taught us differently? For all it's difficulties, raising Kero has always been a joy to me. I suspect it was much the same with Hope as well." He lifts a graceful brow and turns to look at the white lion lounging on the floor next to his mate.

Bez chuckles warmly as he encircles Tam's waist with his good arm. "Nuff said, I believe. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words."
