Cryrin I must say you are the best seamstress I have seen in so long. I can only wish to come close to that level of craftsmanship after I finish my Sewing course this semester

You remember that high waisted jumper I drew up and showed you? <_< I think you should make yourself one. In that color. Just for kicks and giggles. It would be awesome!

...I'd make one in the light blue plisse that I want to make yours out of.
I finally worked a little more on that pink x white scallop hemmed skirt that's been collecting dust, while I had the pink thread on the machine for those bows. It's nearly done (basically just needs the waist band and waist ties), and the longer that it's been sitting on my sewing table it's... strangely... growing on me. o_o I think I'm going to keep it. And wear these bows. (And I... totally blame you for this, you know.)

It's still not done, though, so maybe it's finished, maybe it's a work-in-progress... All I need to is add ribbon-corseting up the plain center-front panel! gonk Opinions? It's my first so I kinda wanna know~ And I know it's wrinkly. Don't comment on the wrinkly-ness.

For a proper critique, I'll really need to see more clear pictures, as it's rather difficult to make out the details both with the lighting/contrast, and the background.
For a few photographing tips-- try to take pictures with a blank, solid color wall for your background (It's really nice if you have walls that are a contrasting color to what your dress is. For a dark dress, something like white, or any light color). The best places are in rooms that have a lot of windows, and take pictures during the morning/day when there's a lot of natural light filtering into the room. I suggest getting a front and back view of it on (side view is also nice), and then laying it flat on a solid colored sheet (again-- contrasting color. White, cream, light pink, light blue.)
What I can see of the dress from this one picture-- it looks like you're going to need a nice, rather full petticoat to support the weight of the ruffles. Ruffles are always heavy. The bodice appears to be a little long-- making the skirt start below your natural waist. I can't quite make out the details of the top ruffle, but is it gathered upward in places, or is it a regular ruffle? It doesn't look like it's laying right, but it may just be the wrinkles that's making it appear that way.

It's the wrinkles.
And as for the photographing problem - my camera's screen is broken so I cannot use flash, I cannot adjust any settings, I cannot view photos for blur.
So I take two or three photos of everything and pick the best.
The model in the picture though wants to borrow the dress to take pictures with her own camera - I'll request those pictures and post them ASAP. Also, the quality doens't really NEED close-up photos... The lace is rather bad quality, and the material is rather poor choice (as it's not holding up to the wieght very well) and yes the skirt part starts below the natural waistline. I didn't put much thought into that when I was designing it, and that's my fault. Once again, it was my first try.

It seems that you know the main flaws, then, and from there you can figure out what to do for the next outfit(s). For a first attempt and ignoring the materials, the construction itself looks nice. I look foward to seeing what you come up with in the future. smile

I just finished a red JSK (unfortunately I don't have a blouse to go under it)
Once I finish another outfit of mine, for a BTSSB panel at a local convention, I'll post pictures of both finished products for criticism. :]

I've finished up a decent number of accessories lately, and will be posting pictures of some of the items soon. (Not all of the side bows, as they're just the same thing in different colors)
Finished: Pink x White Alice Bow for Amani Red Ribbon Bow with White Heart Lace for myself Bordeaux x Off White Classical Headdress for myself Bordeaux x Off White Side Bow for myself Dark Red* x Off White Classical Headdress for Spuntino Dark Red* x Off White Side Bow for Spuntino Black x Black Heart Shaped Headbow for a customer Ivory x Ivory Side Bow for a customer
*Dark Red used for Spuntino's items don't have the same pinkish hue as my bordeaux (which is a perfect match to VM's bordeaux).
