RandomKate "Oh?" She finally stops messing with the punch bowl and begins leaning against the table. "They were once popular?" "Very." She nodded, "Of course, we had another name for them then. Feasts or festivities. The wars were coming to an end, so there was more time for them." A small mirthless laugh escaped her, "For all their speak of victory and glory, it was clear that the lords and kings were tired of battle." The Phantom's gaze had grown distant, "After I died, I was able to watch as the dances grew more elaborate. I was younger then, so I often had to find another ghost to practice with. It was never difficult to find someone who was bored and willing..." She lapsed into silence for a few seconds. The Phantom slowly blinked and glanced around as if to regain her bearings. "Ah, I think I was beginning to get off track. Back to your original question, in these last two centuries there have been a myriad of ballroom parties. Sadly, this modern decade does not seem as fond of them."

The mage blinked. "A game?" she asks, curiously. "Well, I guess if you need some information about me... I'm a twenty-two year old mage who comes from a noble family. Due to past complications, I left at sixteen and have been living by myself ever since. Well, I guess "by myself" is not the words. I ended up in a forced contract with Clara at eleven, so we shared the same body." She gently held up the pendant around her neck. "My Uncle enchanted this necklace to keep her at bay around the time she was pretty bad. She's very different now compared to then.""I see. Guess I just missed out on that era," she joked, chuckling.

As the prince kept his conversation with the mystery woman, he felt a small tug in the back of his mind. Unconsciously, his gaze shifted to the window and the glittering stars beyond. A hint of a frown crossed his features as he listened. He could be wrong, but it seemed like the quiet ones standing along the sides of the dance floor were not their only observers this night...

RandomKate "I see. Guess I just missed out on that era," she joked, chuckling. "At the very least, you could participate in the remnants of it. Why not ask one of the men to dance?" A wink accompanied her words.

"Wait...you're a year older than me!" Cid laughed, but it quickly grew quiet in hearing the rest of the mage's telling of herself. "When she was bad...? What do you mean by that?"

"Please. I don't know how to dance." She stared out into the crowd of party-goers. "You've spoken with her. She's "friendly", in her terms, than what she use to be. Clara used to be ruthless. All she thought about was making my life a living hell. This, however, was due to her own memories being sealed off and her own magic controlling her. She didn't even know her own name until the final moments," she explained, smiling.

The knight inclined her head to the side, perhaps thinking about it, and then said, "Perhaps she saw you as something to blame for the position she was in. Even if you yourself were an unwilling member of this contract, she might not have realized it at the time?"

She shakes her head. "She wasn't herself at the time. With her memories mostly blocked, Clara saw herself, or what her dark magic wanted her to believe, as a true witch. She tried everything in her power to takeover me. She even attacked several people."Clara felt something gently pushing her away from the refreshment table. She tried to fight back at the unseen force. "What if I do not wish to dance??"

She tried to fight back at the unseen force. "What if I do not wish to dance??"There was a feeling of unease from Cid as she listened. This...sounded too much like an Izendi, at least that's how Clara's previous behavior seemed to her. Aggressive tendencies, attempts to claim the physical form. On top of that a dark corruption? Perhaps she was too late in stopping the spread of such things. Perhaps she had already failed. "I'm glad you two worked through it together though, at least to be at the point you are right now..." she replied quietly, frowning for a brief moment, and changing it to a smile, "I'm sorry, I'm holding you up from your friends. Go on and enjoy the night. I hope it's something for you to remember for quite some time."

"No no. Don't worry about it!" she replied, giving her a reassuring smile, though, not like she could see that. "If you're sure, then all right. I'll help you however I can, though."

Arron had been idly listening to the conversation. His face slowly growing more pale as his counterpart quietly tipped him off that Cid had been looking for people like himself & Kate. He started quietly backing away.

"Alright...uh-oh..." she snickered as she heard the one who tended to stutter slowly stepping away. "Looks to me that a potential dance partner is trying to escape. I'll snag him for you!" The knight stepped over, her bells chiming as she did, and reached out for his available...his only arm, and wrapped her own around it, giving a small tug with a smile. "Where do you think you're going? There's a friend of yours over there, and you have yet to dance with her! Go on! Or are you shy, tall guy?"

"W-Wait!" The mage's cheeks flushed as she tried stopping the knight, but it was too late. "Hi! Umm... It's alright! There's no need to dance if you don't want to!"
