Jay frowned a little at Sebastian's silence after his attempt at describing it. What? Was that not what they were? Had he said something wrong, or funny? He was about to open his mouth and ask, when Sebastian finally replied. Maybe he'd just been thinking about it. Jay shifted, folding his arms over his chest. "Knight 'n dragons.... sounds 'bout right," he remarked. Maybe he should have mentioned that stuff first. He really didn't remember a lot about them, though. His sister had tried to describe them, and they'd passed by one when they were traveling, but that was about it.

Sebastian quirked an eyebrow, glancing over at Jay as the comment about knights and dragons seemed to ring a bell. Well it was good that it sounded familiar, though Sebastian had a sneaking feeling that the medieval was not Jay’s preferred time period. He chuckled a little at the thought and shook his head.
He perked up a bit in curiosity as Jay remarked on visiting a festival before. It sounded interesting and well… wait that was why Tod was flying? He had to question that a little bit as well. Still though, it sounded like fun. "Yeah, sure! It sounds like it’d be fun." He grinned a little, pausing a moment and thinking.
"Hey Jay. How many badges do you have in this region again?" He inquired. A thought was beginning to sprout in his mind and he wanted to make sure it was worthwhile. "Maybe you can go ahead of me. Huey politely stepped to the side of the counter, getting closer to Yuki in the process, and waited for Nurse Joy to return with his pokemon-- well, technically they weren't his pokemon, but they were under his care.. at least until Emolga was healed up,after that though... he'd return them to the forest? He was unsure, but he supposed he'd cross that bridge when he got to it. He waited quietly, Yuki in the meanwhile taking it upon herself to straighten and style Huey's hair to how she pleased. Eventually Nurse Joy returned, pokeball in hand and a Klefki hovering over her shoulder. "Here you are, dear," she handed the sphere over to Huey, her smile a bit strained. "Just remember what I told you, don't let your Emolga battle or strain himself." Huey nodded as he took the pokeball in his hand, Klefki instantly moving to hover over him now. He could probably get that done in a day or so too. Momentarily lost in thought, the man raised an eyebrow a bit when the cowboy inquired if he was certain about that proposal, chuckling a little in response.
"Pretty sure it doesn’t count as ditching since I proposed it you know." Sebastian mused a bit, shaking his head and waving a hand through the air. "But no, I’d be alright with it if you wanted. If anything, I get the badges out the way, we can hang around at the fair a bit and then once we leave, we’ll be on equal footing for the rest of the way. I think that’d be a pretty good idea, don’t you?" He gave a shrug smiling. "I wouldn’t want to force you to backtrack and all." He smiled a little bigger at the thought. If Jay could roll his eyes, he probably would have, when Sebastian pointed out the loophole in his concerns. Okay so yes, that was true, but it still seemed a bit like ditching if someone made a suggestion, and the person responded just a little too eagerly. "Well, alright then," he remarked with a bit of amusement, "Ah mean, ya certainly do make uh good case. S'not one ah can argue with." Going to train up his pokemon, if he could, and get items, instead of tracking through places where the wild pokemon were pretty weak, did admittedly sound like a slightly better use of his time. It would be weird being there without Sebastian, though... but hopefully he could join him soon enough.
He smirked at the teasing comment his companion added. "Ya we'll see 'bout that," he replied smugly, but then shook his head, giving a bit of a wave, "Nah, but, ah'll share some've mah tokens when ya get there." It was the least he could do since Sebastian was pretty much sending him off there early. He shifted back, turning to listen towards Scy, who stepped forward and offered a big, metal claw to him. "Send me uh message when yer headin' there," he remarked, "Ah'll try 'n come find ya. 'N lemme know if'n ya need directions 'r anythin'. Not that ahm thuh best at that, but..." He grinned. "Ah'll try not ta get yew lost."
Once Sebastian confirmed, and they bid their farewells, Jay shifted to head in search of the train station. He had a general idea of where it was, and Scy would help lead him. Hopefully he could catch one quickly and get out of the city as soon as possible...

Sebastian couldn’t help but smirk a little at Jay’s expression; he could kind of sense that for once in these conversations, he was the one pointing out a loophole in logic. He was rather happy to see Jay agree with the line of logic as opposed to finding some extra loophole, head bobbing a little in response. "Great! Glad to hear that." Sebastian responded, hands clapping together in the process. They’d both be benefiting, which he certainly approved of.
"Heh, you don’t need to do that." Sebastian remarked. It was a kind gesture but he certainly didn’t want to go robbing Jay of any tokens or pries he actually earned in the time. Even he wasn’t that much of a monster. He glanced at Scy as he stepped forward to start helping guide Jay once more, giving the Scizor a little nod before glancing back to the cowboy. "Will do!" That was probably a damn good suggestion and now that Sebastian thought about it… he really needed to check his messages when he got a chance. He was fairly certain he’d seen his PokeGear blinking in indication that there were a few in waiting. Why hadn’t he checked on the boat ride? Who really knew?
He did scoff at Jay’s comment about directions. Wow, really? The blind man finding him? That was a crazy thought in of itself. "Tch. And to think, I’d trust you to guide us through a dark cave." He shook his head. "Sounds like a doomed situation to me." With that joke done, he wished Jay goodbye and watched as he headed off for the train station. Sebastian started off in the direction of the pokemon center himself; the best place to find people to hitch a ride from after all, were other trainers who would more than likely be congregating at the place of pokemon healing. Hopefully in a city this massive, he’d find at least one trainer who’d give him a ride to Striaton.

It took a little bit for Sebastian to find the Pokemon Center; much like in Lumiose, Castelia was huge and the amount of businesses was startling. The only upside was that it wasn’t a circle and so the chance of becoming lost was slightly diminished; if he went down the wrong road, he could turn around and go the way he came without fear of looping back.
Stepping around, he took a look inside. There were quite a few trainers about (just as he figured) and a small group in particular caught his eye. One fellow had a Pidgeot out and at his side; the kind of bird you expected to carry a person from place to place. It was a wild choice but Sebastian took a breath and stepped over to interrupt.
"Excuse me sir?" Sebastian paused a moment as the young man looked in his direction, eyebrows raising in surprise at the interruption. ”Yeah? What do you need?” Sebastian gestured to the Pidgeot at the man’s side. "I know it’s really odd to ask of a stranger but… would it be possible to get a ride somewhere?" The man stared at Sebastian a moment. Hitchhiking was dangerous; Sebastian would need to (at some point) invest in wings of his own so he wouldn’t have to do that. Still though, the young man seemed to take the request well enough, chuckling.
”Yeah, sure. But on one condition.” Sebastian nodded, indicating he was listening. ”You have to beat me in a battle.” Oh was that all? That was fair enough. "Alright sure. You’re on." His current team could use the practice to be honest. Hopefully, they’d survive against whatever this trainer, who’s name he’d later learn was Dave, had in his arsenal.

You’re pretty tough as well." He certainly hadn’t expected the flinching and the freezing, though he was grateful Pichu had thawed out of it just as quickly as he had gotten into it. Hitchhiking was a dangerous affair and something you really shouldn’t do if you weren’t certain of the individuals you were taking rides from. It was probably even more dangerous when you were hitching rides via flying, where any soul could just shove you off in the middle of the air and let you meet a grizzly demise going splat on the ground.
So it was probably a good thing that Sebastian seemed to be encountering quality trainers when it came to getting himself rides. It probably helped that the young woman wanted to gush about her birds in the process and well, if he was willing to listen he could have the ride. Sebastian was a good listener so it was hardly a problem. Though he couldn’t help but be a little surprised at all the information she managed to get out in that short hour or so trip. He was feeling a little overwhelmed by it all.
Still, she dropped him outside the pokemon center and he waved her goodbye. Popping inside, Sebastian took a moment to rearrange his team. Burgh apparently used…bugs. Which he had more than enough fire power to handle. But then again, he’d recalled his near unfortunate battle with Viola and had to question himself on who he’d use.
He definitely wanted to keep Shuffle in play; she needed the battling experience and both Blackjack and Naps would be useful for fire. Was there another type he should use? What seemed good against bugs? This would’ve been the perfect thing to ask Jay about to be honest. For now though, the long-haired man resigned himself to just figuring out the information on his own.
And there wasn’t much. Fire was primary, followed by flying (which when he thought about it, made some sense) and apparently… rock. Which was kind of a squeamish thought. Oh well.Adjusting his team accordingly he got up and headed out to find the gym. It was show time.

In no time flat he found the gym; it actually looked like a gym, especially the inside with this sort of inanely built setup. It was like stepping into a giant forest with some Combee theme mixed in and for a moment, Sebastian found himself at a loss on how to navigate this place. Eventually though, he maneuvered his way to the battle field on the opposite -or was this actually the center? Or a different level entirely?- of the building. He was grateful that this place wasn't suspended in the sky or anything; he really didn't have the stomach to deal with heights.
"Hello? I'm here to issue a gym challenge!" Sebastian called out. Gym leaders really seemed busy nowadays; of course, who really expected them to stand in place all hours of the day waiting around for challenges? That was just a bit unrealistic. It wasn't long though before his request was answered; a rather tall and slender looking fellow appearing on the field, whipping the cape wrapped around him to the side.
"Well hello there! I'm Burgh. So you're here to challenge me? Well, my bugs are just skittering for a good battle." Sebastian blinked a moment, but nodded. Gym leaders sure were... eccentric weren't they? He had to wonder if he'd ever be a good gym leader. He wasn't really all that exciting. Ah well, now was the time to battle. Confirming his challenge, he stepped up and took his place on the field, yoinking the first of his pokeballs and readying for battle...

Burgh was not surprised to have fallen to strong fire type attacks; in fact, he enjoyed those battles just as much as any other! "Fantastic! What exquisite fire, burning passion! The tenacity of your phanpy was a joy to see." Burgh grinned, holding his arms out as if announcing a show (rather than the conclusion of one) and then strode forward. "Thank you for the magnificent battle; I can tell you are quite strong and have trained hard. These are for you," he said, handing over the Insect badge and the TM Struggle Bug. "That TM, Struggle Bug, represents the dedication of all bug pokemon," he said. "I wish you luck on your journey." Burgh nodded, then turned to go and heal his pokemon. Just a little would put the skitter back in their step!

Sebastian couldn’t help a bit of a smile as Burgh took his defeat with enthusiasm. That was certainly not what he’d expected to be honest but then again… he was a gym leader. They won some and they lost some… and type advantages probably reared their ugly heads more than they liked. Though, he hadn’t expected Shuffle’s flames to hurt the Levanny as badly as it had.
"Thank you." He nodded, taking the badge and TM from the man, eyeing the pair of objects a moment. That made three badges which meant he was all caught up, just as planned! He was rather proud of himself; it wasn’t the most amazing of accomplishments after all, given these were just the first few gyms, but he’d done it all the same. He’d given a few on his team practice too which was always beneficial. Shoving the TM away and storing his badge, Sebastian waved and headed off to the pokemon center to heal his team up.
Once he’d handed his team off, Sebastian took a seat at one of the vacant booths. Pulling out the flier from before, he took a moment to read it over. He was rather happy to be heading off to the fair now; it looked like fun and his pokemon deserved a break from all the intense battling they’d been through and even Rummy deserved a nice little treat for his performance in the contests. Really, they all could’ve used the rest and relaxation. Fairs where good for that right?
Drumming his fingers on the top of the table Sebastian retrieved his PokeGear. Checking it over, he noted the messages still lingering. One from Apollo, to confirm his number which was good to handle. Another from Ajicka… a response to his mentioning of Houndoom and advice about the megastone. He … actually didn’t quite understand what she was talking about. Frowning, he sent back a quick message in return. It was rather rude that it’d taken him so long but… she was probably a busy one so it wasn’t a big issue.
Text to Ajicka: Hey so… is Sunny Day a move? I wasn’t really aware that was something to think about, I’ve never had a mega-pokemon before. Is it better to just take it off him then?
He didn’t even realize abilities changed with mega-evolution. He just thought they got a little bit stronger a little cooler looking. Now, he was kind of worried. Once that message was sent though, he set about sending the one he needed to send.

Satisfied -it was a short message after all to just let the cowboy know he was heading that way- Sebastian returned his device to his bag. It wasn’t much longer until the Nurse Joy reappeared with his pokeballs in tow, handing them off with a smile to the young man. He was grateful and thanked her before heading out the door. Taking a moment to check a map, Sebastian swiped a stray hand of hair out of his face and started on his way to the train station to get himself a ticket. One little short trip and he’d be at the fair; he was looking forward to it!

With Emolga, and Klefki, now in his company Huey turned his attention back to Nurse Joy, his eyebrows scrunched together in thought while his eyes displayed uncertainty. The nurse's face softened, upon noticing this, and after brushing herself off inclined her head towards Huey with a soft smile, silently encouraging him to ask whatever question he had on his mind. "Do you know what an everstone looks like?" he finally managed to spit out. Tybalt had already expressed his desire to become a Gallade, and although he'd been patient with his new form as a Gardevoir, Huey doubted he wanted to stay that way for long. "Oh, of course! Everstone's are gray, oval shaped rocks with a smooth surface."
Huey tilted his head to the side, putting the description to memory, before a realization dawned on him. Setting his bag onto the ground the boy pulled out a stone matching Nurse Joy's description then held it up for the woman to see. "Yup! That's it right there," she confirmed before she broke out into a soft laugh. "Here you were, carrying it around the whole time." Huey smiled sheepishly as he laughed along with the nurse, rather amused himself that he'd been in possession of an everstone the entire time. He had a dawn stone with him too! So this was great! "Is there anything else I can help you with?" The boy thought for a moment before he shook and then bowed his head, "no ma'am, but thank you for your help!" With everything settled, and a plan to pass the rest of his time while waiting for his father, Huey left the center once more, qith Yuki and Klefki at his side, his destination now the train station.

Before he made his way to the train station Huey made sure to release Tybalt, and began rummaging through his bag seconds after he'd called out the gardevoir. "Ty, great news!" he exclaimed, looking up when the light had died away and Tybalt stood before him, a curious expression on his visage. "Yes, I'm aware. You have an everstone on you." The boy's eyebrows scrunched together in a mixture of confusion and mild disappointment, he'd wanted to break the good news himself-- but that was a psychic type for you, you couldn't hide anything from them. "Yeah, I do! Plus, I still have that dawn stone mom gave me." With a bright grin Huey presented both stones to Tybalt, giving the pokemon a chance to look them both over before he gestured for him to take the everstone. "Go on then~"
He took the stone without hesitation then held it tightly with both hands, concentrating hard on it in the hopes that it would trigger his de-evolution. For a moment, nothing happened, before suddenly light burst from Tybalt's form. Similar to evolution Huey watched as the blinding light enveloped his pokemon before his form began to shrink, the elegance of a gardevoir transforming back into the spindly form of a kirlia. When the process was finished Huey found himself looking back down to Tybalt, his expression of slowly building excitement mirrored in the pokemon's. "It worked!" Pulling him into a hug he spun him around in his excitement, which quickly resulted in protests from Tybalt and a jealous glare from Yuki.
"H-Huey, please... I-I'm getting nauseous!" Tybalt complained, his fingers curling around his trainer's shirt as he tried desperately not to lose his head-- or his lunch. Huey giggled before he set Ty down, a bit dizzy himself, then forced himself to look down as the world tilted and swirled around him. Once the vertigo had died away Huey presented his pokemon with the dawn stone, then watched giddily as he evolved into a gallade. Applauding happily he watched as Tybalt moved, obviously getting used to his new form. "And now, the piece de resistance!" he announced proudly before he handed him his mega stone, eager to see his first mega evolution.
It was... even better than he'd imagined, and with another smattering of applause Huey began circling the mega evolved Gallade, checking him out with great approval. "You look great, Ty!" Huey gushed, which made the mega pokemon to look away in embarrassment.
