Lady Ravena Vauville

"I wish you luck with that, then. I have a few lines tucked away for a rainy day if you ever need help." Now she was just teasing him about it. Taking another sip of tea, she nodded. "Mhm! He likes my chicken pot pie the best, I think. I don't blame him, it's really good if I do say so myself." Normally, she didn't like talking during her favorite programs, since it was just them talking amongst themselves, she didn't mind it so much.

"Yes, that's their familiar, Kit. She becomes somewhat relevant later on in the season. After that, she doesn't really show up anymore, which is kind of sad." At the mention of cats, she did wonder where all of his little furry friends had gotten off to. Now surrounded by kitties, Rae was indeed in heaven. So many precious babies in one place? He'd be lucky she ever left his room at all.

"Hello, sweethearts.~ We do at that, and a lot of it. I was wondering where they had all gotten off to.." Now she was content to pet the little darlings while watching the show. Looks like it would be on for at least a couple of hours, but she had some time before her next class. It was Economics; though not one of her favorites, she still did well, considering she would be dealing with foreign nobles and other dignitaries one day soon.

Now he was smirking. His brow raised as he looked at her from the corner of his eye.
"Why Rae my dear, are you offering to give me pick up lines? Have you no faith in my abilities?"
Merely teasing back, he sipped his tea listening to her.
"I am sure it is, and he is certainly fortunate to get to have it."
Tobias gave a slight nod as she spoke about the cat on the show, his hand moving absently to pet the cat that had taken up residence in his lap.
"Napping most likely. Like good friends, they can stay if they like, but they have the freedom to come and go as they wish. Heh, they do seem to know when it is time to come in for attention though."

"Well, I mean.. If you need 'em, I got 'em." There were a few she'd used on her husband before that might work for his situation. If he needed a wingman, she'd only be too happy to oblige. "I haven't made my pot pie for you yet? What a travesty, this needs to be fixed!" Everyone was going to try her chicken pot pie one way or the other.

Stroking the fluffy ragdoll laying across her lap, she took a final sip of tea, setting her empty mug on the table, careful not to dislodge the furry little darling from it's comfy seat. "They're like you in a way. I'm happy you have so many little ones to take care of. In Mocha's case, I think it's the other way around.." She was referring to the tiny coffee-colored kitten star she'd given him some weeks back. It was Rae's favorite out of all Toby's kitties, though she'd never say so aloud. No need to offend the other little darlings she loved so much. This princess was definitely a cat person.

Finishing his own tea, he set it down and carefully turned to face her. Mocha, who had taken over his lap, gave a mew and pawed at his leg to try and get him to stop moving.
"Hang on, Mocha. Now really, you have my curiosity piqued. What line or lines do you have in your arsenal? And might I remind you, just because you might not have seen or recall me hitting on another guy, does not mean I have not."
An amused grin was playing about his lips as he calmed the kitten star in his lap back to a sleepy purring state.
"No, I do not believe I have had the pleasure of that dish."
Raising a brow, he gazed at her then at the kitten she was petting.
"Are they?"
His gaze then shifted to Mocha who seemed to agree, looking up at him then settling back into a curled up position. Tobias chuckled, gently petting the little kitten again.
"Dare I ask how you two came up with that idea?"

"If I told you now, it wouldn't really be any fun. I never thought you couldn't, and I wasn't going to just assume you were straight, either." They were now halfway through the second episode, and the princess wondered what Toby thought of the show so far. Only way to find out was ask. "Well, if you like, the next time I come over, I'll make it for you. We can even invite some others over as well and make a night of it."

It might be fun, a sort of date night without the romantic implications. It sounded fun to Rae, anyway. A small giggle escaping before it was contained, she nodded at the tiny kitten star in Toby's lap. "It's a conspiracy theory, obviously. Anyway.. how do you like the show so far? We don't have to keep watching if you find it boring. I'm sure we can always find something else on."

"Perhaps less so for you, but I bet the delivery would make it very interesting to hear."
A smirk had started just at the thought of her delivering pick up lines. Part of him did wonder if she could actually tell him one with a straight face. Chuckling, he shrugged.
"Somehow I suppose I figured you knew what my tastes were like."
Looking down at Mocha, he thought on her idea a moment before responding.
"That sounds nice. Who did you have in mind?"
Shifting his gaze back to her, he raised a brow.
"Apparently."
His attention then returned to the show.
"I have not caught all of it. Forgive me, Rae my dear, my mind is still some what distracted. It is not that I find it boring, I simply have much on my mind. We can keep watching it, but I may have to try starting it again at some point."

These days, it was easy for her to deliver deadpan lines thanks to the general changes in her attitude. "Well, I know you like cute things, and I know you can't resist someone blushing. Anything else?" Laying her head on his shoulder, she continued to pet the purring ragdoll in her lap. This episode was nearing its conclusion, which mean she would have to take off afterward if she wanted to make it in time for her Economics class.

"Maybe I could drag my sister over. Have you met her yet?" Her concentration was slipping. Maybe getting so comfortable had been a bad idea. Oh well, nothing the tiny princess could do about that now. "I understand, we can always try again. As soon as this episode is over, I'll have to leave, though. I still have to go to lessons, believe it or not." It wasn't that she disliked them, as it gave her plenty to do and kept her mind off the bad things, but Rae did wish she could just have a whole day to herself where she could just do nothing.

Thinking a moment trying to recall, he looked over at her from the corner of his eye.
"I believe I only know of your brother, Gear. Unless you mean sister by marriage. "
Closing his eyes, he nodded at her words.
"Right, back you should go then. Which of your lessons do you like best?"

Toby had that look about him, like he was deep in thought. Hopefully he wasn't brooding over his troubles again. Nothing in his facial expression gave anything away, so maybe he was thinking happy thoughts after all. Rae hoped so, anyway. "I'd like to think I know you very well." They'd known each other for three years now, almost down to the day.

"Yes, I mean Lucky. Gear is.. not himself right now." That was her delicate way of referring to his "furry little problem". She would have to get back to the Wyvern after class and see about checking up on him. The full moon was the worst time of the month, and so rough on all the crew members.

Leaping on the change of subject, she tapped a forefinger against her lip in thought, scratching the lil ragdoll in her lap behind the ears with the other hand. "Well, I enjoy falconry. It's a "noble sport" as my sister calls it. It's really not so bad, though. I've learned a lot about birds in general since I started taking it. Then there's horses, which I really enjoy, as you know.." The tiny princess rattles on and on for another few minutes or so, mentions of dragon riding and history being her other favorites; flattery, accounting, and public speaking being her least favorite. Has to refrain from making a face when she brings those up.

"I suppose I should go.. Will you be alright on your own? I know you have your little ones, but you know how I worry." Rae disliked leaving him alone for long periods of time. It's not that she was worried he would be lonely, he just seemed like the type of person who needed someone to talk to. She was only a text or a phone call away, so she wasn't too worried. Setting the lil fluffy kitty in a comfortable spot beside her on the couch, a yawn threatening its way past her lips, Ravena stood, brushing the stardust and cat hair from her lap. As soon as she found her boots, she'd be ready to leave.

"Heh, you do. No need to fret on that point."
Giving her a sympathetic look, he nodded.
"Right, I had nearly forgotten the moon was to be full. Will you be going to see him soon?"
Tobias listened, nodding now and then.
"I am glad you have the things you are learning that you enjoy. As to the others, just keep at it. Not all skills of import can be of great interest, sadly."
Raising a brow, he gave her a grin.
"Do not fret too much over me, Rae my dear. I shall be fine. There is something still at the back of my mind I feel I should attend to."
Setting Mocha on the couch, he stood and stretched. Once Rae had her boots on, he'd offer her a hand up.

The tiny princess rattles on and on for another few minutes or so, mentions of dragon riding and history being her other favorites; flattery, accounting, and public speaking being her least favorite.

"I will after I come back from class. I owe him at least that much.." Rae just laughed, as he hit the nail right on the head. "You got that right. All my lessons are necessary, and each have their uses, some more than others." Unfortunately, there was no way of getting out of class today, or else she would stay longer, but duty calls.

After snagging her boots from by the door and sitting back on the couch for a moment to slip them back on, the tiny princess stood, taking Toby's hand in hers. "Are you going to settle things? If so, I wish you the best of luck." Giving him a searching look, Rae let his hand fall from her grasp, instead holding her arms out to him, hopefully for a goodbye hug.

Then there's horses, which I really enjoy, as you know.." "Very well. Should you recall, tell him hello for me. I have not seen him in ages."
Simply smiling, he shrugged.
"Thus why you must learn. If it will help even a little at some point, better to have the knowledge."
Helping her up once her boots were on, he raised a brow at her question.
"You make it sound like an old style rumble, as it were. I want to get things straightened out in some way. Things feel up in the air and muddled right now."
Seeing what she again silently asked for, he drew her into a hug.
"Thank you, I shall do my best. Good luck at your lessons."
Holding her a moment longer, he pulled back some and gazed down at her.
"I shall let you know how things go, alright? One never knows, I might need to discuss more."
Chuckling, he let her go and went to walk her out.

"Alright, I'll tell him Toby says hi. Maybe you guys could hang out one day." Rae had to fight the urge to roll her eyes, that was exactly the thing he'd say about it, and he knew it. "I know, thanks mom." With the way they were acting, you'd think they were siblings instead of best friends.

"A humorous as that sounds, I do hope you can come to some sort of closure." She held him tightly for a moment, sneaking in a light peck on his cheek before letting him go. Hugs were a rare commodity, and so she wanted to make the most of it while she was still here. "Alright, let me know how things go. If I don't answer you back right away, I'm either asleep, or in class. If that's the case, I'll get back to you as soon as I can."

Pausing before the door, the princess turned to glance back at the little kitties still situated on the couch where they'd left them. "I'll bring Violet next time I come over, okay Mocha? Maybe we'll orchestrate a play date of some kind. See you cuties later.~" With a wave and a smile, the tiny pink-haired princess took her leave, heading off back to the palace for her next class.

"That would be nice."
Tobias clicked his tongue and grinned at her.
"Any time, Rae my dear. Tell your father to be on time for dinner, please. I have yet to see him on time in ages.. or at all, come to think of it. Remind me, who he is again."
He could run with the teasing, given the chance and that seemed an amusing one. With a sigh, he then nodded.
"As do I, but only time will tell."
His eyes closed and a smile tugged at his lips at the peck.
"I will. Either way, I shall leave you a text. I know you will respond when you have time."
Chuckling, he gazed back at Mocha who gave a little wiggle at being addressed.
"I am sure they would all enjoy that. Good bye, Rae my dear."
Holding the door open for her, he waved as she left. Turning and closing the door, he decided he'd change and then head off to take care of what he could.

Permit me a moment to say a few words as something happened today,
I shall recount it here and hope they hear what I have to say.

A drawing so adorable I found in my inbox from you, with joy my heart did fill.
That there are those out there of such a Sweet nature humbles me,
To even bestow your kindness on, well a Freak like me is heartening to see.
It goes without saying, you are well loved and much adored.
I must say, that you shared anything with me, it really has me floored.
Perhaps one day I can better show my appreciation with a gift befitting you.
