ladyfirefox89 Also, wishing token is such an adorable phrase x3. I can see people getting really creative with markings<3. My only worry is how customizable trying to make edits on it would be. Like if I wanted fluffy kitty ears or front claws owo. one over three This was without a doubt one of the problems with aquatics before. There were times I liked an aquatic but passed it up anyways because I didn't really want to be fussed with the limited breeding.

Mixing of the templates was the best reason for breeding aquatics though xD Or do you just mean there is no semi-aquatic species for the offspring to become, even though the aquatic offspring can still have "traits" from the non-aquatic parents (kind of like in Soquili - where e.g. seathis can get Quillin traits if they breed with a Quillin-Nixie)

My thing I've been thinking of recently..is if the shop is fantasy based. Can same sex couples please just breed and have it said in the story or whatever that a god helps it happen? Not saying I want a preggo stallion wandering around xD but, I don't personally want to wait for wishing star type events to be their only chance. And I know some people will dislike this cause there will be enough of a fight with heterosexual couples trying to get babies but. Come on people o - o They will be having orb/ totem whatever kind of babies anyways. It could be stretched to fit u - u and make it fair for all couples.
Again just my usual 2 cents

@Wolfie - I agree completely. :3 I think one of the points of the orbs (at least to me) was that it wasn't an actual baby, just an indicator of things to come... So even if a stork drops a baby off to a same-sex couple, it should still count. *shrug* And I somehow doubt that there'll be enough same-sex couples for there to be an argument for competition... But then again, if it's actually possible for them to have children, it'll open it up for people to do something other than search for surrogacy and wishing stars. :3 So maybe relationships, rather than breedings, will be sought out more?

I am 100% behind same sex couples. Heck, if need be to test waters just make one species be able to do it for now and see how that goes? I know that's how they do it in theia. Something about the artist who made the lines asked that the large breed not have same sex. But the minis of that shop can be same sex.
And to be honest, I am more in love with and have a deeper plot for my same sex pair in that shop xD.
Or like in Carousel where they have a donor system where you can choose if the donor has major and minor influences. And however much I love the idea of blending more influences and having more for the colorist to draw from....... I reaaally hate that the only two pets I owned for the longest time were caught up in the same breeding x__x;;.
And I'm not sure how that would work if there are breeding win limits. I know Carousel has unlimited amount of breedings you can have *last I checked?*
Which also hasn't been brought up yet. Not that it really needs to be I guess lol. But for smaller shops where it is easier to get a breeding, I think 3 breedings is a little low? And since there is talk about it being spirit-born, it wouldn't put stress on the females body to have the foals? In less having offspring litter ally leeched off part of the parents souls..... o__o;;?

Yes Carousel has no breeding limit. Same with Nature's Wonders and Wishful Thinking.

i dont think they have to be "spirit born" but its more open ended so you can rp it that way or a natural way, so you can decide how your character was brought into the world. (so the child isnt taking moms soul or anything D8 )
I personally thought the breeding limits were silly, so your pet wont be infertile after their 3rd breeding, so far for what has been discussed there wont be a limit and they should be able to breed as much as they can/want to.

I actually respect the breeding limit. It makes us branch out more... And is why there are so many awesome family trees in soq.
I think 3 was a silly limit though. Like say 5 would be perfect in my book.
As for the same sex jazz... I guess we have to see how it's played out... I'm hoping for more natural standings but not because I'm against same sex. It's just more muse inspiring... Perhaps though. There will be other ways aroun it? Like taking a potion?
I really enjoied the idea that my soq could surrogate for a gay couple... It ment something more then the usual breedings to me and made me really want to rp it out more... Perhaps if it went that rout? It wouldn't count against the girl who was surrogates breedings? But the actual parents slots? Heck even if it does take her slot it was still something I thought was way cool.

I know I really wanted my own Poopie and was sad I missed the chance *w*
And come to think of it, I had wanted to get a winged dog familiar in soq for Remy to fly around with and be goofy with him xD. Owl poopie would be a good medium for that if I got him here x3.

I have thought about it (the Owldogs) and perhaps they could be transferred but im not 100% on the decision yet. I want to see how the shop plays out before i really decide.
breeding limits, 5 just seems like alot, and im not sure ppl would actually use all of them/or it would take a while. and in that case why bother having one at all? honestly if there was no breeding limit i would be far more likely to be more free about my pets breeding partner and would be more likely to settle down with someone. the limits wanted me to plan everything out and be super choosy because i didnt want to feel like a breeding was wasted D: but if the breeding was unlimited i would be fare more likely to experiment and say ah why not? that might turn out cool!

I had an idea while I was at work. I don't know how good it is though...
Alot of people do not feel like they are part of a BC shop until they actually get a pet. With Soq... That can take a very long time.
So I was thinking. Why not hold a monthly, or bi-monthly, newbie raffle that has entirely unedited pets? That way, all the colorists could contribute to it, and the pets wouldn't take tons of time to make.

Would there still be low luck breeding couples included, because I know that some people, RNG or dice just love, and they can end up with three breeding before another couple could even get one.
Flan, for the aquatics, could there be a slight variations for the fins for those from like the "northern" sea versus the "southern" so that there is a slight distinction between the breeds of aquatics? Nothing really big, but it shows that they are from different parts of the ocean. Most fish are like that. Or even a slight distinction between 'lake' and 'ocean' aquatics.
Love the orbs and the idea of them being sort of a 'hey you're pregnant' kind of thing. And love how the little talisman looks as well. ^_^
