Axitk Yeah, he's been training and going through tons of briefings for the last three weeks. ...but he was sure they were shipping off this weekend.
-sighs-
He's only going to be deployed for six months. So, I guess its not as bad as others.
XD And only if he could get rejected when he gets there. I wish I could only do three week trainups and six month deployments. Qatar isn't very hostile, you're right. I was supposed to be in Baghdad but during my five months of active duty training deployment, they found cancerous cells in my cervix and I wasn't allowed to be shipped off.

Would you consider not being shipped off better, or would you prefer to go off? I am honestly asking.

I had a friend that was in your shoes...but he didn't have cancer cells in his cervix. (i sure hope not! xD) ...he had a small tummer growing on the inside of his skull. And he was lucky enough that they caught it before hand, cause if it would have grown any more he could have had brain damage from the weight? -not sure how that works-
And that was a few years ago too, where i thought it was dumb that they could ship him off twice in his term of service.

@Nariana: I would have preferred to go. I wanted to go so bad and once I got to know everyone from that unit, it made me want to go even more. I miss them all and worry for their well being all of the time. I am grateful that the cancer was found and I had surgery to remove it.
@Axitk: It is good that they found the tumor when it was small. And of course they can. I've known people who've been over there three times within their six year contracts.

Ax: Wow, that's pretty serious. Glad the cancer has been caught and is hopefully gone. Hate to ask, but...what's a cervix? I don't feel like Googling it...
Vivid: So you enjoy going over there, actually? Wow, I never thought of going over there to be with those new friends. Shows me a different perspective of things. I hope they are okay, too. ^_^

Well, it's her decision and way of thinking. I think it's respectful enough. What's a cervix? x3
It will be okay. You can still e-mail him from any base sites, I'm sure. Or send him packages to help him out. ^_^

I think it is a little silly too but some people want to go. I liked the idea of going and doing multiple tours. Now I am on a non deploy status for over a year.
The cervix is the lower, narrow portion of the uterus where it joins with the top end of the v****a.

Ouch. D; That sounds quite painful. It didn't mess up your ovaries or anything, did it?
Multiple tours? So you get to sight-see also? Or am I misunderstanding a term for work there?

Multiple tours means that we have to go over more than once. A tour is slang for a Tour of Duty which is a deployment.
And it won't mess up my ovaries. The cancer does have a chance to spread to my uterus though and that will mean I would need a hysterectomy.
