tam chuckles... better than me anyway... he looks for his pole which is snaged in a branch that is hanging in the water and begins to pull it out... sweet lady... he gasps as the pole jerks out of his grasp... damn... wha the.... kero give me a hand here... there's something on this line... something big....

tam adds a few choice words of his own as they wrestle the fish to shore... sweet lady of night, he says, sides heaving form exertion.... that was... would ye look at that.. between the two of them they have landed a 5 foot gar... which has a hint of intelligence in it's eyes... it is still in shallow water and it uses it's tail to great advantage. landing it hard on the surface splashing the two considerably...

ye whippersnappers got me... ye got me good, says the fish but i'd far rather ye hadn't... that damn hook stings, boyo... and ye had to go about it half back asswards...
tam smiles and gently removes the hook from the fishes mouth... sorry granddad, he murmurs focusing a bit of healing power down through his finger tips... but we didn't catch ye... ye actually caught yerself.. me pole was adrift when ye went after me bait.... and i wasn't after ye in the first place... just one of yer lesser kin..... feel better.... he asks then he motions kerko to help him put the fish back into the pool..... of course with the fish helping it is easier putting him back than it was taking him out....
the gar gives himself a quick shake, dives deep then comes gliding back through the murky green water.... i suspect ye have enough of me kin to feed ye for some time... he advises wisely... it might be best fer ye to call it a day...

it happens... i call it the avalanche effect... and believe it or not we are all just as guilty as the other of doing it at some point in time or another... we get so darn caught up in what we're doing, focusing on our goal, that we forget to look at what we are jumping over on the way

i know... my hubby is the same way... trust me he can be a bit over whelming at times... and we still bump heads about it even now after almost 36 years... it's a personality trait i'm afraid... so when it gets on my nerves really bad i have to remind myself that i'm just as bad about other things and let it slide... or i yell back... won't work with your dad though... i warn ye... bad move to tell at a parent figure...
