*Kero smiles, putting the gem on his shelf...having a feeling he'll be needing it again...eats a slice of the pie, then goes and works on some calculations...not moonwork this time...this is a spell he's been devising for Lyssan...to allow her to consume inanimate energy like he does...but he's hitting a snag...and trying to calculate around it...*

nice thought that... not sure it would work though... as it would be like someone trying to live on magically conjured food... it would have some serious drawbacks...

Depends on what Kero does...there are certain gemstones that are alive...a kitsune needs living force...that's what he's working with...
*Kero goes to a drawer of his desk, eyes glowing as he examines types of energy...when he pulls out the living stone...he slowly begins to enchant it...with a spell akin to his night-light...to draw in small amounts of energy and transform them...then for the tricky part...he slowly adds in his own hunger...walling it away...to allow the stone to drink inanimate energy...then he tests it...and to his amazement, it works...Draconite, the only living gem...manages to transform the energy from an opal into true life-force, fit for a queen kitsune*

interesting says the narrator.... now it seems to work for you as ye can draw on the force in all things... but will the kitusne queen be able to do so as well... well... i suppose there is only one way to find out.....

*Moving on to his next step, Kero places a tiny amount of Aethr inside the draconite, sealing it in with a small hinge...he twirls it until it begins to suck on it's own...then seals it with a simple word...now the gem is command activated...and he goes and shows it to Lyssan*

*Pulls out an opal, filled with normal magic...he has her touch it to the draconite, speak the command word...and then absorb what's in the gemstone after five minutes...and it's pure life force...*

lyssan's eyes light up and she begins to bombard ye with questions... such as how much energy can the stone absorb in one sitting... how much energy can it release... which gems are the most useful in the application... and can the release be a timed release or does it have to be swallowed all at once... there are at least a dozen or more important questions i haven't even addressed here, but those are the ones which are troubling her most right now....

Tyhe swtone can absorb up to a hundred Diamonds worth of magic...yes, the release can be timed...match gemstone to measurement for usefullness...Here's twelve diamonds ye kin use to demand payment, which is how we Voidmages accomplish things...try it, and see iffin it works...at a hundred diamonds worth of energy, it will release ten diamonds worth of life force...

she nods and tries it again... coming damn near to creating a crater the size of manhatten in the place of the palace... only a quick reaction on yer part as ye felt the gem feed go erratic and surging far beyond all know containment saves llyssan's realm from certain evaporation.... as it is... it does do a magnificent light show within the field you've raised around it and sends the furniture in the room slamming into the walls
i take it... i did something wrong... says lyssan picking herself up off the floor....
note: forgot to tell ye the reason lyssan rarely does true magic... and sticks with her inherent powers... things kind of go wacky when she does... jor refers to her as a magical clutz....
