"Divine intervention???" comes a short terse sending. Tam returns to his dish as if to end the conversation, making Kerobian chuckle inwardly. Tam had promised him long ago he'd never raise a hand to him, and he had no doubt the lioness had any trouble remembering that little promise.

Of a certainty...but I'm not pale anymore...because I know he won't...my sira doesn't believe in corporal punishment, Pasa...though I recall a few times he has smacked me, he's never gone for an all out paddling. Obviously, he and I do not agree on this point.

Bez looks up with a half smile. "Ai has never been one for using force....not since... well... not since the time of madness. Has he ever spoke to you of that?"
A soft growl from the lion causes Bez to lean down and give him a hug. "It's alright, dulcha. These are friends and loved ones here. No one would think ill of you because of it."

Tam walks over to him and nuzzles him in the side, licking his face as if to clean it, then suddenly he grows alert and darts away and out the cave.
Bez sighs. "The girls are awake, play time is over folks. I better go see if he needs a hand. Peace of the evening be with you." Folding his napkin, he stands gives Pasa's thin shoulder a pat and walks out the door.
Emnast watches him leave with a puzzled frown. "Is it me or is he different somehow?"

Pasa goes back to finishing his soup. "Not all changes are bad, ye know. He seemed a bit more... how can I say this and not sound stupid... solid?" He looks at Kerobian and shrugs. "My old wiseman would say he's found his path. My teachers would have called it his center. My mother would have said he's grown up."
