*Kero nods...thensends Tam a coupling of his feelings and images...Tam had heard the situation from the eyes of the guards...now he sees it through Kero's eyes...and it matches what the guard says...a giant misunderstanding...Kero felt they were trying to take his blade...and when the one took a step towards him, he reacted like any other miner would...he attacked, using his claws and giving the man a tic-tac-toe board on each cheek...*

tam nods... i thought ye had heard me talking to the shopkeeper as he wrapped up the blades to begin with... that's why he padded the package so well, so it wouldn't be recognizable... this town used to be very lawless... then all the leaders got together with the heads of the clans and those groups who live here and banned weapons on the streets... then they hired men to walk the streets to keep people safe from those who would not listen to the rules they made...
in my eyes this is a good thing... though it can also be a bad thing, iffin someone decided to hurt ye and y had no way to defend yerself... but ye had yer claws... so i knew ye were safe... i just never dreamed you take the blades out of the room... i should have warned ye not to... then he grows very serious... that weapon is no toy, kerobian... it is a tool for defense only... is that understood...

tam nods grimly... they expect me to punish ye, but i suspect not letting you have these until we leave town is probably punishment enough... still it might be best ye lay low in our room tonight, ok... and tomorrow i want ye going with me to the guardhouse to apologize... is that understood?

kero, i'm not making you stay in the room as a punishment... think of it as a safe guard... and a trick... we will be tricking people into thinking i did punish ye... do ye understnad? use the time to practice yer pipes, read a book, play a game... i won't be in the main room long tonight, i need to share the hearth with that pretty little filly of a fiddle player... that centaur that came in last night... so i'll join ye soon enough... ok?

ok... then do it for me as i'm the one who should have told ye not to wear that damn thing out the door, growls tam angrily... kero... i'm trying to keep the peace here, dammit... if ye go down there tonight, people are going to point and talk... ye'll get teased and i'll get ragged... some might even get angry at us, thinking we think we're above the laws... i have to make a show of punishing you or we will both suffer the consequences... can't ye understand.... if people tease ye the wrong way we both know what will happen... that temper of yers will flare and we will be in serious trouble... let's avoid it at all costs... i'm not cheating anyone... i'm not lying to anyone... i'm not hurting anyone.... i'm not doing a single damn thing wrong....

tam sighs and shifts into a small red fox, then jumps through the hole, landing lightly on the ground... he sniffs the air, catches kero's scent and goes after him...
