so tam decides to tell him a little more about himself... so he understands what happened the night before... not all of it... just enough for some ofit to make sense....

i come from a place far away from here... he says with a small smile... and where i lived there were lots and lots of musicians... in fact we're kind of born singing... it's sort of what we do... and no... before ye ask... i'm not a bird... nor was i ever a bird... he winks at kero and looks up at the stars... there was a lot of us... so many we were like the stars in the heavens.... then bez and a few of his friends got mad at our master.... said he was spending too much time on his play toys and not enough time on us...

tam sighs... yea... i guess he is... it was rough... everyone was fighting... no one was getting along... then one day our master said that enough was enough and he kicked him out... along with all the other trouble makers... trouble is... some of the others remember him... and some of the things he said made sense... in a twisted way... bez can twist anything to what he wants when he works at it... he can actually make ye think that black is white and white is black... back home nothing is the same... nothing may ever be the same.. and our master is unhappy... and now,,, now ever so often a few of us disappear... we're not like bez... at least i don't think we are... but one day we're home and the next we're somewhere else... and we don't know who or what we are... i thought ppeople were lying to me... i didn't believe it was real... but then one day it happened to me...

that's how i met lyssan and ame... they found me and took care of me, taught me how to speak... how to take care of meself and so much more... and i've learned a few things... like who and what i was... and i learned about the cry... it's.. well... let me show ye... he pulls out the harp from the night before... only now it is stringless... this is me harp from home... back there i would have strung it with sunlight... but it won't work here... but ye can use tears... and ever so often... the gate home appears... and iffin ye ready... he... he lets ye come back....

tam smiles... and i love ye too, kero... really i do... home wouldn't have been the same without ye there with me... so.. ye getting tired yet?

tam laughs heartily... ok.. yer turn to tell a story... ok... whatever ye want.. just make it good... he leans back and closes his eyes, waiting....

tam laughs at the image this gives him... sheesh he was give people grief even back then, huh... i would have liked to see that... he rubs kero's ears and tries his best to hide a yawn, but it gets away from him... he apologizes and tries to think of another story... but he is so tired nothing comes to him... sorry kero... i can't keep me eyes open... he says with a rueful laugh... didn't get much sleep last night...

so he crawls in with kero and pushes him to the edge... move over, trouble-maker... he says with another face cracking yawn and before kero can do anything about it, he is sawing logs... and quite loudly at that....

welll it did mute it a bit... now it's just a muffled buzzsaw... rofl

the next morning tam wakes up hugging the pillow and frown... then he sees kero in his bed and laughs to himself...because the cat is flat on his back with all four paws in the air and he looks so comical tam decides to paint a picture of it... very quietly he finds something to do a preliminary sketch on.... it just so happens to be the inside flap of his favorite book and goes to work...

in less than a half an hour, he is finally satsfied and nudges kerobian awake... hey, sleepy head... i'm going into town to do some shopping... wanna come with..... he asks pulling on a clean shirt... and digging out his money pouch... he is surprised to feel how heavy it is... but then as they raqrely need to spend anything they earn, he realizes it has been accumulating quite a bit of coin...
