Luciel cocks his head, staring at Paladine as he nuzzles Igniska, who gently pushes him away.
"Not in front of your father, Luciel..."
Luciel simply kisses her to quiet her, a quick peck to make her shush.
"Dad does not care. I'm certain he is simply happy to see us back together. But...I cannot see Kero, at least not the adult Kero, being so silly. Fun loving, yes. But not a prankster or a troublemaker."

E'li smiles. "One is young but once... unless one is a void mage, then one can repeat the process so often the restraints adulthood often put on people fade. True he doesn't pull as many pranks as you do, my son, but talk to the Lady Lyssan the next time you are in the realm. Trust me. he does and has pulled many a prank... but only on those he views as equals."
The great dragoon give Igniska a wink and smiles fondly on them. "As for the other, Luciel has the gist of it. I see nothing wrong with the closeness you two share."

Luciel laughs, smirking at his father, deliberately egging him on with the next question, not seeing Igniska sneak around behind him, pillow in paws.
"So, if all this closeness is wonderful and good, father mine, what would you say if we decided to mat..."
At that point, he is royally clubbed by the pillow, knocked down, and mercilessly sat on By Igniska.
"Luciel, I love you. But make a suggestion like that again, and so help me I will...do something drastic." She finishes rather lamely.

E'li laughs long and hard at their antics. "Well done, Daughter of my Heart. Well done. And, Luciel, while I approve of closeness, foolishness is not high on my list of appropriate behavior. And I suspect if you keep that up, you will be made to look very foolish indeed."
"You can say that again..." mutters the red under her breath. "If I can figure out what to do to him that would make him look foolish, that is. His hide is thicker than a stone wall. What makes one individual blush only makes him worse, I fear."

Luciel laughs and laughs, finally fighting his way out from underneath Igniska, his golden wings a little dirty from their brief tussle in the dirt.
"I know it would be foolishness, father. And I don't intend to claim a mate anytime soon. Neither Iggy nor I are old enough to make that kind of decision yet. But I will tell you this, fire of my love. I love you, and someday, I do wish to be your mate."
With that, he nuzzled her again, and pulled back, looking into her ruby eyes for the response she would give. He hoped she would give the one he wanted, but his eyes told the true story, that if she didn't, he would prefer she tell him now, so they could still be best friends.

Igniska closes her eyes for a brief moment, leading him to believe she was refusing him, but as he was about to say he understood, she opened them once again, tear filled and shining.
"There is no one I'd be happier with, C'ei. For you are the closest friend I have. And if those who mate are true friends, then I know I've found my completion. Love I have aplenty, but trust I dole out sparingly. I've gone through to much of late to do anything less. And you I love and trust completely."
"But neither of you are truly ready for such declarations." sighs E'li in a gentle scold. "You have long and hopefully fruitful lives ahead of you, each of you. Do me a favor and remember this... what seems at first true may only be a dream, a pleasant one, true, but a dream none the less. Give it time and if it is true, love's roots will grow deep. If it is not, then you will always have someone you can count on."

Luciel nods to his father, moving in to kiss Iggy full on the mouth again before turning back to him, his tail now firmly wrapped around hers in a tight embrace.
"Don't worry about it, father. No matter what happens, I will cherish the friendship we share. It has juist grown a little more open and deeper right now, that's all. There's more room for the love I feel for Iggy now, and I am happy to have more to place in there."

E'li smiled on the two before him and laughed. "Love is one of those precious commodities that defies understanding. Precious beyond belief, if you hoard it, it withers and dies. Give it away and it grows. Remember that children. Now, tell me, Luciel. How went your trip? Kero mentioned to me he wanted you to visit to help teach another what it means to be a dragon. But he didn't go into much detail. He rarely does, if he thinks it might upset me. I trust him not to place you in jepardy. Still, if it isn't breaking his trust, tell me about this wonderling of his."

Luciel nodded, and began telling Paladine the entire story, as Kero had told it to him, of Luna's birthing and of his and her adventures, even including the mischievous younger Kero, during the short stretch the Voidmage had spent as a youngling in his presence.
"As well, Father, when we went into her box, I went and caught her a catfish, and it spoke to us, of all things..........I know it was wrong, and I'm still sorry, even though I;ve already been punished. I don't know what came over me...........and I swear, I was blushing so bad. NO, I won't go into detail of what he told me, that night on the roof, but even after he finished, I'm amazed I'm still not blushing.........and then he pulled a prank...I think he turned Keva and Kai pink, and I made a fast exit, stage right. I decided to come home then, and here I am."
Looking up, the dragons realize the tale has taken the better part of two hours, and everyone is getting stomach rumbles.

"Kero turned Keva and Kai pink! HA! I knew he hadn't abandoned his old ways. That more than anything should have taught you how mischievous he can be. Sounds like you did a bit more growing than the little Luna though. So I won't scold you for the stuff you pulled. Just tell me this, did you learn anything from all this? Though learning he's raising such a wise young dragon, albeit a black one surprises me." sighs E'li thoughtfully, his eyes distant and a touch worried. He looks at Igniska and smiles thinly.
"I worry about her future. She will live a lonely life outside that small circle of family and friends. And I doubt she will find a mate."

Luciel nods at Paladine's words, then shakes his head violently.
"Father, if I know Kero like I do, Mischievous or not, he will find her a mate. Somehow, somewhere, he will find her a mate. He's just that stubborn. I saw that when I helped babysit him. More obstinate than a Jackass, he was. But he takes care of those he loves, even if he does believe in spanking. I remember one time, actually...I forgot to tell you."
And then Luciel spun off into the story about how Luna had been forbidden cookies for stealing them, and Luciel had tempted her into swiping some late at night, only to be caught by Lyssan. What he had never told the two females was that he had gone and woken Kero up, and confessed, only to find that the mage had KNOWN all along. In fact, Kero had told him he was proud of him for confessing. That pride hadn't stopped him from paddling Luciel, of course, and the young dragon rubs his rear unconsciously as he tells his tale.

Igniska snorts through her nose. "Serves ye right... trying to talk a sweet little thing like her into repeating something she knew was wrong... hmph." But her eyes twinkle merrily, even as she scolds.
E'li simply shakes his head. "He has lived a long time, son of my heart, and learned much... perhaps more than you might think. And he has had a very determined teacher when it comes to the matters of the heart, one who values feeling and love for others over all else."

Luciel glares at Iggy for her comment about his deserving it, then moves his head forward and kisses her full on the mouth again.
"Very well. If you think it served me right, just you wait until we get back to our cave tonight. I'll give you a little taste of what I got, because I'll bet you never got any at all, huh?"
Looking towards his Dad after another kiss to his beloved, Luciel smiles.
"I know. He mentioned both His Tesability and his Sira quite often, saying they had taught him many things that sounded so wise. Who is is Sira, anyways. He said that he was a bard, but he wouldn't say more. Just said I should wait until I met him. And he only showed ne a Picture of his mate."

Ai doesn't photograph very well. It always comes out rather overexposed." laughs the older dragon merrily.
"But then with a light mage, that is quite common, especially those from the planes of Paradisio. Large glowing personages tend to burn the film. And perhaps he was right in telling you you need to meet the bard first then form your own opinions of him. He's... well... rather unique. I'm surprised you haven't met him already... or should I say she? Darn, I'm not sure what skin he/she is walking about in these days."
"He? She? Master E'li, you are not making much sense?" says Igniska worriedly.

Luciel nods worriedly, looking at his father with his eyes narrowed, like he suspects something.
"What aren't you telling us, Dad? Is there something about Kero's Sire that I should know?"
As he is saying this, his tail, which had been twined with Igniska's, stealthily uncurls and gives the young red a firm swat on the backside, then shifts back to its original position.
