He smirks, "I'm always down to play, dear Gigi. Though I believe you were going to ask something else? Feeling we're being..?" He seems concerned by her distraction, and totally isn't trying to deflect off of himself, nope.

"It isn't silly if you honestly feel like you're being watched." The dragon subtly glances around the room though doesn't see anyone watching them in particular. He moves them towards a less occupied part of them room and starts moving slower so he doesn't jostle her as she rests against him. "This is meant to be a fun party, my troubles have to place here."

"Long story would take up more than the night we have, to put it simply...the parasite is a being that was once a person that had been believed to have passed on. But, something, we don't quite know what, stopped them, and held them bound until they were what they are now...what we call Izendi. Their tactics are devious, they wittle the mind and soul down until there is nothing left, causing the person...the host, to slowly lose their minds until they are merely a husk until it delivers the final blow and takes their form for their own," the knight explained in a quiet and grave tone. The pulsing from the stone in her earring could still faintly be seen from behind her hair. It was an almost agitated pace. "My friend has been ensnared by a particularly nasty one, and it is attacking him, the process acting so aggressive, I fear he may not have much time left. His beloved is worried sick, and she hasn't seen him in months due to us finding a way to stop it, but it won't last forever. He is being held prisoner twice over because of this...I just want to find a way to help him..."

She spots the pulsing light from the earring while listening. She simply ignores it while nodding along. "I see... Seems like a grave situation," she replies, leaning against the wall in thought. "I might have a solution, but let's enjoy the party first. After it, you can come seek me out if you really wish for my help."



"No idea, honestly. I never thought that far ahead. As I said, I had decided to sacrifice myself once I was truly me again. Decisions like 'what I wanted to do in my own body' never crossed my mind." She stares at the punch bowl with curiosity. She wasn't sure what sort of contents had filled it.

"Yes.. I suppose you could say that. " Ruby's words and the slight pause were not convincing to the redhead, but she didn't pursue it. Whatever the woman was waiting on was her business so long as it did not spell out trouble for the attendees. "Well whatever the reason, shame on it for keeping you from enjoying the ball." She tilted her head at the second part of the explanation. "Goodness," she remarked. "Everyone is a stranger at first. The only way to remedy that is to go up and say hello." She gestured to the guests who were already in conversation. "I promise you, no one here bites. And even if they do, I give you permission to bite them right back~"

Kate laughs along with the knight before smiling. "It's nice to meet you, Cidri," she says, bringing her own hand out, then shaking Cid's.



"I guess." She begins poking the outer side of the bowl. "So, do you enjoy these sort of events?"

"Oh?" She finally stops messing with the punch bowl and begins leaning against the table. "They were once popular?"

"I-I thought I might have caught a glance with someone I met. But I couldn't place them." The elf smiles up at the dragon in their now quieter area. "B-but it's okay, I'm sure I'm thinking too far into it." Already being in prime position, the little blue elf gives him a squeeze making a hug. "We don't have to talk about them here, but if you need someone to listen. . ." She paused and lifted her hair to show one of her ears. "I have some pretty good listeners~" With a bit of a blush, she let her hair fall back over her ear.
