Gypsy reads the notebook, and nods after a moment. "Of course you can get something to eat." She was about to continue when the girl wrote more. Reading this new bit, she smiled and inclined her head. "Nice to meet you Kaylin. You can call me Gypsy." Beckoning with a finger, she led the way toward the cafe. "Pick a spot, I'll get you a menu." As she spoke she gestured at some of the little tables that were for one to two people. "I'll be right back, have to put my water down and clock back in." She starts to head toward the bar but pauses and comes back. "If you do need to text someone, we can figure something out, okay?" Giving a little nod and smile, she turned again to get her water set down and back on the clock.

Lacy sighed as she watched the obviously shaken Aaron walk briskly away. Keys in hand, she felt the familiar thirst for alcohol tickle her throat. So much of the day had passed and between her late start, this morning, and the events that had interrupted her business, this afternoon, she had decided just to cut today off as a loss and try to make it up, later this week. She looked expectantly at Luna, wondering if, perhaps, she'd have a drinking buddy, tonight.

Luna winced as the mechanic fled, feeling bad for spooking him. She hoped he would get home okay, and making a quick mental note about the location of the shop, she decided to stop in and thank him once her hands were better. She looked to Lacy and managed a quick smile.
"Hospital? No. I appreciate the thought, but they can't do much for me there that I can't do myself. I mean, I guess they could help with the pain, but I would rather not be fuzzy." She considered the offer of a drink, and added, "At least not longer than an evening." She shrugged a little. "If you're still offering, I... I'd love a drink."
She thought briefly about her leftovers, wondering if they'd still be there later, or if they were even still there now. Deciding it was better to leave them and hope than potentially waste the cab driver's time, she wrapped her arms around herself loosely, trying to hide her hands and wincing at the pressure put on them. Yeah, alcohol would definitely dull the pain a bit, and that would be very welcome right now. She looked at Lacy, hoping that the woman hadn't changed her mind.
  ((Sorry about the delay!))

Lacy strode to her taxi and opened the door. Man, her cab looked amazing! Better even than when she first got it! "The offer's still open. I'm always up for a good drink and it'd be nice to have some company," she told Luna. Sliding into the driver's seat, she pried Blackbeard from her shoulder and placed him on the dash where he glared at her with his ever-twitching eyes.
She never really had anyone ride in the cab with her that wasn't a customer and wasn't sure what she should do. Should she tell Luna to sit in the back? But she wasn't a customer and thought that might make it awkward, like she was already putting a distance between them on purpose and well....she had enough distance from people, naturally. She didn't need to make it worse. Then again, if she told Luna to sit up front, the woman might feel uncomfortable like Lacy was trying to be buddies or getting too familiar or hitting on her or whatever. She decided to leave it up to Luna. She called to the thin woman through the open window, "Hey, you can go ahead and get in. The seats are spotless and the mechanic even put a little air freshener in here." (Don't worry about it. Real life...she can be a biotch.)

Kaylin smiles and goes to find a seat, choosing one away from anyone else who might be in the cafe. She looks around curiously once she takes her seat, wondering if she should try to contact her cousin to come pick her up after she ate.

The girl with the fiery hair had found herself…rather lost? She’d just closed up shop and sent Barnaby off with a bit of food for the night. She must have taken a wrong turn somewhere…How could she get lost? She lived here! Mistee grumbled, walking around block after block, checking her phone, seeing her gps zig zag as her trail line followed her helplessly. “Mm…I thought it was just past the park..” she mumbled to herself, staring at her phone.
Mistee stopped in her tracks and turned left. Because left wasn’t right. Right? Or maybe she should turn right, because that seemed right…right? “Mmm…”she clung to her phone, turning around, but the turning back around, trying to figure out where home actually was.

The rising Levi paused, then started laughing, “We did, didn’t we?” she stood to her full height, grabbing her phone from her pocket, and flicking through contacts before holding it up to her ear. “It was on 5th so we sh-Tobias. Go to 5th. Yeah. The guy who owes. No no, I took care of that. I need you to pick up my bike.” She looked over at Nes for a moment, then kept talking. “Bring it to….” She walked out of the alley to get her location, “ Washington, west. Ring it here. Scratch him and I’ll peel your nose off and feed it to my cat.” She flicked the phone off and leaned on the wall, arms crossed. “What should we have for dinner?”

Nes listens quietly as Levi gives Tobias instructions, pulling a face when the taller woman isn't looking. She didn't like Tobias and didn't want to be near him if she could help it, but she felt that way about almost everyone. Her face quickly returns to it's normal mildly grumpy expression as Levi finishes the call, walking out of the alley as well. "I don't know vats around here, still get lost in zis damn labyrinth of a city..." She grumbles, looking around the street, "If you know somesing around here, vee could go zere. Or vee could run to zee store and I can cook somesing at home."

Luna tilted her head to the side. She'd never been in the front seat of a taxi cab before, but she wasn't sure it was permissible. Then again, she wasn't a paying customer, right? She leaned down, looking in the front passenger window.
"Is it alright if I sit up front? It would be a new perspective!" She couldn't help but smile, feeling a bit like a little kid.
Seeing a slight nod from Lacy, Luna grabbed for the door handle and groaned as her hand connected. Taking a quick breath, she carefully wedged her hand under the handle and pulled, the door clicking open as she took a step back. She climbed into the cab and hooked her hand through the open window, closing the door with her elbow to avoid hitting her hand again. Seatbelt? she thought, looking to see if Lacy was wearing hers. She wasn't certain how she was going to connect it without pain, but if it was necessary she would find a way.

If you can’t pay attention cause you’re hungry, that b***h’ll send another social worker over to our-“ she paused. Levi put a hand on the girls head, quickly flipping her hood over her face, “Shh…” she quickly pushed her back into the alley with a gentle nudge of the hand, hiding her behind her back, eyes narrowed. Levi pulled out her gun and knife, handing them to Nes quickly. “Get into the dumpster and don’t make a sound.” She hissed as a patrol car made a slow stop just outside where they were waiting.
“You there, what are you doing?” came a commanding voice from one of the men. He stood at an unimpressive height(compared to the giant woman) of 6’ even.
Levi stepped out of the alley, all smiles, “Hello, officer!”

Nes had been about to protest having her hood flipped up, Spice luckily on her shoulders again and not riding in it, when Levi hands her the weapons. She silently moves back and slips into the dumpster, Spice jumping off of her going deeper into the alley. The feline had no interest in being in a dumpster, but had been trained to make herself scarce when Nes did something like this. Nes didn't enjoy the dumpster either, but would grit her teeth and bear it while Levi handled the cop, pulling her hoodie over her mouth and nose to filter out some of the stench as she breathes. She listens as best she can from the metal box, hoping Levi wouldn't get herself into trouble.

Raidan ran. He ran as fast as he could, working his leg muscles on the treadmill. Whenever he ran on it, he trained both his speed and his endurance, in case he had to catch someone or make a quick getaway. He let his mind wander as he did, his body remembering his regimen with ease. He thought about the upcoming fight Maurice had given him tickets to, and hoped that he wouldn't get a call beforehand. The young boxer had seemed delighted that someone took an interest in him, and Raidan didn't want to disappoint. Beyond that, there wasn't much else to think of...Bills were paid, food was steady, and nothing had broken in 8 months. The microwave was getting a little testy though...might have to take a look at it once he got back.
After about 15 minutes on the treadmill his body started complaining. It signaled the end of his regimen for the day, and he slowed himself down to allow his body to calm. Once he was back to a walking pace, he stepped off the treadmill and went to a nearby bench, resting his feet. He frowned, remembering that last year he could go a full 20 minutes at top speed without complaints. The job was starting to take its toll. Raiden momentarily wondered if he'd be able to handle things 20 years from now...he just shook his head, willing those thoughts elsewhere. It wouldn't do him any good to second-guess his body, 15 minutes at top speed was still better than average, as most people he saw seemed to prefer walking on those tread-climbers. He'd tried one once, but almost broke it when he started speeding up, the machine unable to keep his pace. It had been an interesting few seconds, like he was navigating a shifting terrain. Good learning experience, but not something he wanted to make a habit of.
After resting, he walked over to his coat and put it on, taking one last look at Maurice, training hard for his upcoming fight. Raidan smiled and headed for the door. As he walked outside, he noticed the air was a little more humid than before. He didn't see many clouds in the sky, but the shift still tugged at his mind...he shrugged, figuring it was just the sweat from his body mimicking the effect. He walked down the street, heading back to the Azure Hotel. He'd walked back and forth between the two places plenty of times, so he knew the way rather well. Mindful of the tickets in his inside coat pocket, he smiled as he walked, part of him anticipating the event. The rest of his mind was wary, scanning the area for anything unusual on his way back to the office.

She looked suspicious enough with that, her quirky grin wasn’t helping. “M’am I’m gonna have to ask you to place your hands on that wall, palms down.” He said, eyeing her again.
“Oh, you’ve come to frisk me! How very New York of you~” she said, but complied.
He didn’t seem as amused wih her as she was with him, gently patting her down, “What were you doing over there?” he asked, spreading her legs, feeling each leg separately. “I was take’n a piss.” She said, boldly. “…what happened to your lip and hands there?” he asked, patting down her front, patting her breast pockets a bit longer than the rest.
Levi withheld a low growl at this, but kept her cool, “What can I say, me and the Boo like it rough.” Her eyes were dangerous as he finally let her turn around, snapping her face into a polite smile. He clearly wasn’t buying it, but since she had nothing on her he placed his hands on his hips.
He looked down to her arms, but then smiled, “What’s that? A little love bite?” he pointed to her traks on her arm with a judgmental finger.
Levi looked down to her arms with a calm way, “I’m not holding now.” She said, knowing full well her rights.
“I ‘m gonna have to ask you to come with me, M’am.” He said, holding out a hand to grab her arm.
She pulled her arm back, “I’ve done nothing wrong.” “I could take you in for public indecency.”
“It wasn’t in public space…” her eyes narrowed, and she crossed her arms. “If you’re gonna do this, I suggest you not.” She pointed up. He followed her finger to see a security camera. “Wouldn’t want another scandal…” she hissed, making herself as big as possible. “Not after your friends killed that poor boy on the streets…or shooting that other boy on the subway…or harassing everyone not blond and white…”
“O-okay, you’re free to go. Just don’t let me catch you around here again.” He said, slowly back tracking to his unit, driving off quietly.
Levi stood there for a moment, watching him go. “Okay, come out.”

Lacy buckled her seatbelt, ready to go. She smiled to herself at the woman's childlike enthusiasm. As she glanced over at Luna, she saw her eyeing her own belt. Oh, the hand. Feeling a bit awkward, Lacy reached across the injured woman, grabbed the seatbelt and buckled it for her. Getting a closer look at her clothes, she realized how worn they were. The girl needed some new clothes. I wonder if this is all she has? Giving Luna a brief smile of reassurance, she pulled out of the garage.
As they drove in silence past the businesses and buildings lining the streets, Lacy inhaled a deep breath of the refreshing spring air. She was in a relatively good mood, despite some of the unfortunate events that had occurred earlier in the day. Most nights she either drank alone or, more often than not, she picked up a random stranger at a bar, so she was happy to have a drinking buddy before the drinking even began. Off to the right, her eyes caught a glimpse of a bright red. Slowing, she noticed a wide-eyed redhead turning in circles, obviously lost. Lacy sighed. Dammit. All this interacting with people is giving me a damn conscience. "Hang on a sec. Hopefully this'll just take a minute," she told Luna.
Coming to a stop beside the redheaded woman, Lacy leaned toward the passenger side and called out the window, "Hey, do you need some help?" (Is it just me or did New York just get busy all of a sudden? biggrin )
