-clings to Baraccus' leash-
Wondering if there will be specific alignments for (some) breeds or if my lil nasty can exert his terrible personality in whatever form he takes? I realize this may not have been discussed, just curious?

I am just... in love with so many of the ideas people have been posting! That story was fantastic and I have to admit, it gave me renewed want to RP. I especially like the fantasy sort of theme route. I did enjoy the Native American that Soq had, but as was mentioned by someone (I'm sorry, I didn't write down your name ;;; ), it seemed strange and difficult to explain some of the more high tech looking Soq.
I also really liked the idea of the possibility of breeding ponies with, say griffons, to get a hippogryph! You could do something similar with dragons and ponies too, and perhaps that could be were either the Kalona/Ulun'suti like ponies come from? I don't know what you would refer to them as... but I really like this idea!
Also... Flann... those orbs are AMAZING ;u; And I love the different ways you can accessorize them to hint at what the baby is! Am totally on board for the orb idea. Not so much the totems as I find that difficult and awkward to RP ICly (ie- the totems instead of orbs... not the CYO idea |3 ) like many were saying the baskets were. I DO, however, LOVE the idea of using that little totem as a CYO type of thing! 8DDD

Hey guys, so I was thinking about the story, possibly a little too hard, but I wanted to know what you think. X3
Since this is a fantasy setting, and someone mentioned gods earlier, I somehow got on the track of Roman/Greek gods and the breeds. Let me explain - water-bound breeds become Neptune's children, flying ones with feathered wings become Mercury's children... Along those lines. What if the story was that, somehow, the planets in our solar system (and possibly new made up ones) were all goldilocks planets, and certain species came from planets named after certain gods, with attributes in alignment for what they stood for? Then they could all converge on one planet, having been gathered there after some disaster on their home planets, the species arriving one by one as they're drawn? That one planet would then become the setting.
That sounds really convoluted and a lot less clear than I'd originally hoped... But I'd like to hear opinions and for you guys to expand on the idea a bit more if you like it. :3

I think it would be kind of cool if each breed/species had their own god. Not that they would be restricted to it, but if they were born as a certain breed they were considered to be born under that god/under its protection, then as an adult they could make decisions to worship or affiliate with others/multiple ones. Wouldn't have to be anything serious, just a little thing like symbols or they could affiliate with a god who IC embodies their personal philosophy/perspective.
I know there were kind of gods in soq, for elders to affiliate with, but I never found one I particularly liked completely. I did kind of think it was cool that the elders could get symbols on them of their god. Just something like that, but for everyone. Again, not that everyone would have to have a symbol/tattoo, but there could then be characters who were very dedicated to their deity so maybe the do get a tattoo or become a priest/missionary/whatever.
Thoughts. Those were some I had, though slightly ramble-y. Inspired by Maho and others posts. <3
edit: So for example, my Cleavers as a family/clan could worship the god/ess of war/weapons, and the god/ess of family or something...and since they are 'x' breed, they also are affiliated with 'x' god that is the god of their breed.

Zee Oddwyn Hello! Just did a read through of the thread, and I had an idea in regards to the aquatic type creatures being able to access the land. Since this is a fantastical land, why not have some fantastical environments? Like the Hallelujah Mountains from Avatar? Or I was reminded specifically of an old video game, Ecco the Dolphin. The game would allow dolphins to travel out of the ocean through a series of above ground rivers. This was the only screenshot that sort of demonstrates the visual of it. Hopefully you can make it out. So why not have something like these arching out over the land? Maybe accessing remote land-bound bodies of water. The aquatic types might even have an innate magic that allows them to create temporary off-shoot streams for these rivers, so they can explore where they wish and interact with land/air creatures without having to leave the water. Haha! This totally reminded me of the transport tubes in Futurama rofl . If there are humans in the realm, I can totally see humans building a kind of system like the goldrush people had? It was like ramps that transported the water..... -bad at explaining- orz.

Oh man, I loved Echo the Dolphin.
Hmm, each species having a god/ess would be interesting.

Phail Ninja I'd like to add that aquatics should be able to interbreed with others more freely, I think ;D Might give them some more loving~ This was without a doubt one of the problems with aquatics before. There were times I liked an aquatic but passed it up anyways because I didn't really want to be fussed with the limited breeding.

@Spoof - Yus, thank you, that's more along the lines of what I meant. <3 Nu, something like this? Though it doesn't look the most sturdy of contraptions >3>... Also, I can totally see a prego mare getting stuck in one of those things and blocking the water xD.
