Damn. You see, this is why we should keep American Troops in Iraq.
People just don't understand. That area needs to be contained and rebuilt so more harm won't be implemented to ourselves and everyone else in the world.
I think war is bad, but it's definitely a necessary evil.
I still vote we level the place and turn it into a parking lot. You want to rebuild? Well, it's easier to start over than it is to pick up all the broken pieces. We should be conquering them, not helping them out. Not your friendly-neighborhood-Americans...but the scary ones who nuke you and leave you to rot...or have we all forgotten about THOSE Americans? Heh, they exist still, they're just pretending.
OMG there are so many things so many things I can't even begin to express it. We're not in a war on terror, for starters. We're warring for oil. We want what they have, so we made a reason to go over there and get it and yet still seem like the good guys.
Ugh...I'm sorry to stop mid-rant (though I'm sure you are all relieved), but I am in a mood and must leave. I'm sorry to hear about your man, dear, but such is life. I hope, for his sake, he doesn't get sent over there, though I can pretty much assure you that the chances of him seeing any real combat are slim. There is a very low percentage of soldiers who do much more than the basics out there anymore.

any who...in this day and age, we can't just conquer places like that...it'll never work. it'll just tick everyone else off, and then WE get ourselves blown up...NOT GOOD.
and haha. i agree....we should just GTFO...and it's not a war of oil, though that is a part of it....but every one wants oil.
it's a religious war...that's really it.
