Mademoiselle Alvinette LilChibiusa That sounds like a pretty cool dream! I'm not sure exactly how to interpret it, but maybe you feel like there is something or someone irl that you need to protect, even if it is only emotionally. Maybe your character in your dream also reflects your true self. You like fashion, glamor, and dress-up, so maybe you have fears deep down somewhere that people think that you are shallow and ditzy or something. That's my best guess anyway. Actually, what you said got me thinking, and I think there's quite a bit of truth to that! Except that I don't worry about people thinking I'm shallow and ditzy in real life. I think that me feeling in the dream like I was just playing a pretty and glamorous girl reflects my fear that even though I do like to be glamorous in real life, people will discover, irl and online, that I'm not really that pretty or glamorous, and that I'm actually quite the hag. *Don't hit me, Chibi!* Like, I would love to be a beautiful, carefree glamour girl who goes on adventures, but in real life I'm dull and dumpy! rofl LilChibiusa Okay, here's one for you! It was a really disturbing dream, but don't worry, there wasn't murder or anything. In my dream, Malomy and I had just done something in some gym. I think we were practicing some sport, but I don't know which one it was. We went into the locker rooms to shower afterwards. She got in her shower, and I got in mine. I was washing my hair when all of the sudden, the shower curtain was ripped open by these two thugs, and they were being perverted and commenting on my boobs. I freaked out, and tried to get the shower curtain fixed back, but the rod was broken. As I was trying to get it re-attached, I noticed that the background changed from a wall of showers in front of me to being inside my local mall (and it was super crowded in my dream). I was scrambling, trying to stay covered without people seeing me, but they were pointing and laughing. I don't know what happened to Malomy in my dream, but I woke up before anything could be resolved. rofl Awww, poor Chibi! I hate having dreams like that! Or dreaming that I'm at school, or my old job, etc., and suddenly finding myself, um, exposed. xp So, I got the protection part right? biggrin The weird thing is that I don't recall having had any of those dreams since middle school. confused

Hmmmm...I guess that the thing I want to protect is my individuality and sense of identity. *shrug*
As for why you had that dream...I have no idea. When did you have this dream? Because I usually wind up having dreams like that when I'm really stressed out and worried about failing, i.e. being "exposed" as someone who really doesn't have it together. It seems like being, um, bare in dreams usually represents vulnerability, especially in the sense of being worried about being exposed to humiliation. If you were having this dream last night, for instance, maybe it's just a reflection of your anxiety about being in front of a class again and worry that you were going to be "exposed" for your anxieties regarding teaching. I'm no dream interpreter, but I have been known to lurk in dream forums when I'm bored, and like I said, I've noticed that I tend to have these horribly humiliating dreams when I have real-life anxiety over professional or academic pressures and the possibility of failing/being humiliated. Maybe your dream even stemmed from your ongoing anxieties about the job search and the application process for the JET Programme. Other than that...*shrugs* you've got me; I have no other ideas! blaugh

And, you were right; I did have that dream last night. 3nodding I often can't remember dreams for more than one day for some reason.

I dreamed last night that I was in Japan (presumably with the JET Programme), and I went into an antique store there. I don't remember what I was looking for, but the good-looking store clerk and I hit it off pretty well. We had a great time together, and then we ended up in my room (where I lived when I was in middle school and high school), and we were making out. My dad walked it, and started yelling at me to stop kissing that boy, and my date and I started freaking out. And, then I guess either I woke up, or my dream shifted to something I can't remember.

>.< Awwwww, man! rofl *goes into your dream, Inception-style, and smacks your dad for ruining your date/makeout session*
I had one the other night that I hope comes true: I dreamed that I was shopping, and I found a bunch of parasols DIRT CHEAP in all my favorite colors! I'm hoping that some store or other around here has parasols in its Halloween wares, but I doubt that this will be so. (I like parasols, can't you tell?? blaugh )

I like the romance dreams. xd I think my subconscious put my dad in the dream because he always tends to throw a huge kink in my social life. lol
Here's my dream analysis for you! You were thinking about getting a new parasol, so your subconscious went shopping for you! XD

So, last night I dreamed that I was friends with Lady Gaga. She wasn't in any of her crazy outfits, btw. Apparently, we had become friends when she had come into town for a concert a few months ago. She was back in town again, so she wanted to see me and hang out. We were chatting about how I was subbing now, and I how had so much more confidence because I was able to do it well. Apparently I had also read her journal that she had lent me the previous time she was there so I could read about how she overcame her lapses in confidence. I think we ended up shopping at JC Penny or something at some point. rofl The funny thing is that I don't even have any of her CDs or anything. I've liked what I've heard of her music, but that's about it. I guess my subconscious just pulled out someone my age who is super confident to give me a dream pep talk in being more confident. lol

I'm not sure if I would want a confidence speech from her if she's going to treat Kermit like THAT. xp

Wait, I'm confused---what does Jane Austen have to do with anything? blaugh Although I do like what I've read of Jane Austen's books, especially Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. 3nodding
