Bez chokes on his laughter while Tam threatens the lion with a ladle.

"You miscreant... ye were listening... weren't ye? Have ye no pride..... have I no privacy?"

Tam lifts an eyebrow. "Then you will have to learn to shut things out, won't you? Having an ability doesn't mean ye should use it, Kero. Bez... you had to learn this the hard way, right. Maybe ye'd be the one to talk to him about it."

Bez nods with a small twist of the mouth. "Ask away, Brat... It might be best if you begin by figuring out for yourself why or how hearing everything might be detrimental."

**he may call Kero Brat, but his voice is affectionate... he means no insult**

"Very good... for that is exactly why you should not use them haphazardly, though there are other reasons as well... ethical reasons which make the using of them without cause less than desirable as well... I happen to have little or no magical skill, but my psychic skills are... well... let's put it this way, amongst my brothers we have a means to determine their psi-strengths and they are usually ranked... a nul-talent has no ability whatsoever... a prime talent is one of the best... for the purposes of healing and tending to their needs... a method of tattooing was proposed... on the backs of one's left hand... five white stars in a circle... one star for each level of ability... five being the strongest... or at least the most common strongest... there is a sixth rank, that of high prime... few achieve it... and it's tattoo is this..."

He wipes his right hand across the back of his left hand and a dark blue six ray star appears. "I don't like wearing it openly."

Bez nods. "Power serves nothing unless you can control it though and I tell ye, when first my power woke, I nearly went mad. Had it not been for Tam teaching me how to shield and center myself, I'd have gone insane."

"Do you understand the use of shields?" asks Bez sitting down beside him.

Bez nods. "Then you need to work on them... that and centering... do you understand that?"

Bez smiles. "Do you trust me?" he asks hopefully. "I can help ye, but ye need to trust me enough to let me into yer head, Kero."


**Bez's talent is telepathy. He can read any mind, even that of a nul and really doesn't need Kero's permission, but he won't connect with him on that level unless allowed**
