Zion sensed Mareshin's eagerness to fight, but Zion wasn't going to be the one to start it. If something happened Zion already had his defenses prepared. From their previous meeting Zion doubted Mareshin would attack for no reason, but it was better safe then sorry. Zion's right wing was still acting up and causing him to draw angelic energy. To counteract it's presence he drew demonic through his left. The effect was that his skin took on a greyish hue. Zion felt the little demon's unease around Mareshin. He chose to point out a little fact that might calm down the demonling. "If a fight did break out I doubt Mareshin or my self would bother attacking you. We'd be too... preocupied." Zion would be too busy fighting for his life, and while Zion wasn't sure how powerful Mareshin was, Zion was pretty sure Mareshin would be forced to to go full out as well.

He then turned his face back towards the woman after she answered his question. There was no question about it, she was definately not normal. The only question was weather or not she was human like Kurt. Zion honestly couldn't tell with any certainty. He then addressed the woman. "True. It seems that these interesting times are drawing out all sorts of facinating beings." Unlike many mortals and angels he viewed these troubled times as interesting. To him it didn't really matter if the world fell to these death dealers or not, as long as Zion had a place to survive that was all that mattered. "Might I ask your name and species? I don't beleive you're human but then again I can't pick up anything from you to sujest that you aren't" It was only intuition that made him question his senses. She looked human, smelled human, even to his magic scans appeared human. But there was a feeling that he couldn't shake. If she turned out to be human then he would ignore her, for all Zion knew this woman might be Mareshin's lover. Or maybe Mareshin had his own purposes for talking to a human.

The small demon looked up when she could feel Zion drawing on his powers, surprised that their usage even made his skin change color. When she heard his voice, she knew it was directed toward her, and nodded shyly, confirming with herself that even if something did break out between the two demons, that she would be relatively safe.

Thinking of them fighting piqued her curiosity again, and she looked past Zion, seeing both Melody and Mareshin in her view. She wasn't as frightened after being reminded that she wouldn't be his target. She tried to frown at him, but quickly felt intimidated again, and ducked back behind Zion as if realizing what she was doing.

When she looked out again, her gaze rested innocently upon the beautiful woman who was being questioned by Zion. She wondered how she would answer his questions. She didn't seem like a normal human, as far a Danielle could see. But then, if she wasn't a human, what was she? And why would she be with Mareshin, of all demons? She guessed that she could be a slave, or a lover even, but it was still more likely to her that they were working together, and that she was more than she seemed to let on.

((Anyone know where the star player is?))

Melody felt a slight tremor in her right arm, and she rubbed it absentmindedly. It was strange, he had his father's eyes. She thought as she looked over him with a small smile on her face. Mentally shaking her head Marashin's words brought her back to reality. "I'm sorry. No I don't think we've ever met. Though it does seem that way...." she said taking a step back. She hadn't noticed the young girl until just a moment ago. That was bad. She was a warrior, how could she miss something so small? "He will not strike you... unless you provoke him Marashin." she said with a knowing smile. She let her eyes wander over her son again. He had grown into an amazing young man. "Now what an interesting group you have here." she said taking another step towards Marashin. Mentally she pushed into Marashin's mind. "What are you planning Marashin. No more keeping me in the dark... I need to know now."

"I'm pretty sure that's his plan Kuzon, but it's quite easy to be provoked, yet no one provoked you in such a situation."

Mareshin answered to Melody's reassuring words. He didn't need any reassurance that Zion wouldn't attack him unless he provoked him. Mareshin couldn't care less.

Mareshin felt Melody pushing herself into his mind, he didn't know if he could resister her with success but he made no attempt to stop her. Mareshin looked at Melody from behind, quietly wondering her motives. He doubted she would willingly fight him, but he became certain that she would if he acted not as she could allow. Mareshin pushed himself in Melody's mind.

"Kuzon, your plans appear to be more delicate then mine. There is little you can do to damage my plans, but your persistence to know my plans suggest yours is easily disrupted. Why don't you tell me yours?"

Mareshin then turned to Zion when he told the little demon that she shouldn't worry when he and Zion would end up fighting. Mareshin disagreed, he doubted anyone in the block would be safe.

"I'll admit that I am most likely too occupied to attack anyone but you, but I doubt anyone in the block would be safe. Unless your power is all bark but no bite, then it'll be over quickly."

Mareshin added that last sentence full of mockery. He then focused on the little demon that again peeked passed Zion, he had already noticed that she had been looking at them for quite some time. Though she constantly has a look of fear, shyness and timidness, he was sure she was one time trying to frown at him. Now Mareshin tried to push his mind into the little demon's mind.

"I don't believe we've introduced each other, I am Mareshin Hayden, Mareshin 'The Wasteful' Hayden, if you prefer a title. And you are?"

((Sigh, just as the rp is restarting I have to leave for camping. I wont be posting untill thursday of next week.)

Zion shook his head slightly at Mareshin's words. Zion doubted the city would even had been safe but Zion had been mainly concerned about reassureing the little demon behind him. Besides it was true as far is it went. Zion and Mareshin would have been to busy to attack the little demon, not that the little demon wouldn't have probably died in the ensueing battle. But Zion felt slightly irritated at Mareshin's words, they could almost be seen as an insult. But if Mareshin underestimated Zion then it was to his advantage. If Zion had been a bit younger or more rash he might have tired to prove himself. But Zion knew how strong he was and thus suffered the insult. There would be other times. Zion felt there were unspoken conversations taking place and setled down to wait.

Danielle grew fearful again when she heard Mareshin's words. She tried to tell herself he just wanted to scare her, which, if he was he was doing a perfect job, but she knew she probably wouldn't be safe, even if none of their attacks were actually directed at her.

The little demon's heart skipped a beat when she heard the full-blood demon's voice in her mind. Her eyes were wide, and before she could stop herself from thinking it, her name 'Danielle' echoed in her mind. 'My name is Danielle Karr...' Her breathing, though soft, grew more rapid, and her small form quivered slightly. 'Wh-why do you want to know my name? I.. I don't know anything!' She knew she was lying, but she did her best to keep her thoughts blank, and to keep memories of her old friends, Starra and Darka, out of her mind as well.

Anger filled Melody, her powers flaring for a moment. Do not test me Mareshin! You will be extremely sorry if you try and disrupt my plans. I was under the impression you were going to leave the boy alone.... was that a lie? she asked back her face no longer a smile.

She did not wait all this time just for Mareshin to hurt her child. She did not go through everything for him to end it here. She would not allow it. Her eyes fierce she turned to face him. Her years working on the same side stopped her from striking out. Suddenly her motherly instincts were kicking in on overdrive. Somewhat annoyed, and somewhat surprised she took a deep breath and calmed herself. Overreacting would not help the situation, but the truth was, what would Mareshin do if he found out Zion was her son?

I will play no more games. What are your plans for this boy?

((Ok, Kurt is no where to be found so I am just going to alter this little part :p ))

The little demon, unwillingly, answered Mareshin's question in her mind.

"My name is Danielle."

She asked what Mareshin wanted, for she didn't know anything. Though Mareshin heard her own mind saying that she was lying, but he didn't care.

"I am just curious, you're not my concern, Danielle."

Mareshin could see that his words had some effect on Zion, but Mareshin reminded himself that he was not here to start a fight. He then turned to Melody, she seemed angry enough to fight him. But she told him more then she first did. It takes a bit more strenght then normal, but without really leaving Danielle's mind Mareshin pushes himself back into Melody's mind.

"So it's about that boy, that's more then you told me before. Very well. I am here to find out more about Danielle. Not to pick a fight. Tell me why that boy is not to be harmed."

((Sorreh, Asuri-chan, I kinda dragged your character into this since I had to change it half way.))

Melody felt relief wash over her. Her son was momentarily out of danger, but Mareshin had said he was after Danielle. Strange, but it didn't concern her, not at the moment. She sighed and gave a small smile. "You need not worry yourself with that Mareshin. I will leave your little demon alone..." she said turning again towards Zion. She wouldn't tell him anything that he didn't need to know. "But I will need to borrow him for a moment." she said taking a few steps closer to him. "Everything you think you know is a lie." she said into Zion's mind. She moved towards him, her eyes determined and her lips holding a small smile. "Would you like to know the truth?" she asked aloud, her eyebrow quirked. If he was anything like her or his father, she knew he would be curious. But was he like them? In looks he was a spiting image of his father. Yet he had her hair. Taking a deep breath she awaited his answer, all those years and here was the moment she was waiting for.

Danielle's heart beat painfully hard in her chest when Mareshin's voice again reverberated around her mind. It was comforting, though, to hear that he was not so concerned with her.

Dani felt part of him leave her, but as he spoke to Melody, she could still hear him, like a tiny voice in the back of her head. Melody's half of the conversation, though, was mute to her.

The small demon's heart skipped a beat again while she listened. He was here to find out about her? But he had just told her he wasn't! Her slight form quivered. She was suddenly afraid that he knew of her history with Starra and Darka; that he was privy to their stations among the Death Dealers, and would do harm to her if he thought it would help him in his quest for what ever he desired.

'No...' She thought. Her body was frozen. 'I don't want to be captured...' She suddenly heard the woman's voice, and shot her head up at the sound, listening to what she said, eyes wide from her own private thoughts. Danielle began to wonder what this woman had to do with Zion, but her mind was running to quickly for her to think much on anything else.

((Whoops, sorreh I said that a bit wrong..))

"You continue to evade my question Kuzon.. Whatever, just don't cause any unneeded troubles. Yet..."

Mareshin noticed Danielle quiver a bit and the confusion in her mind. He realized that he wasn't really clear.

"Ah, sorry Danielle, when I said that you weren't my concern I meant for a fight. I won't attack you, not on purpose anyway.'

Mareshin turned to Zion, wondering what Melody's business could be with him, but he shrugged it off.

((Erh, okies, I'm blank.))

Danielle was surprised, to say the least, that the demon had apologized to her. She wasn't a very strong fighter, so that gave her some comfort, but she was still frightened. He wanted to know things about her, and she was worried he may find out her secret.

"Wh-What do you want from me? I... I told you... I don't know anything!" She was hoping he would leave her be, an image of Starra and Darka flashing through her mind, causing her to gasp. She could only hope images couldn't be passed the same way her words could. Danielle was still uncertain about what to do. This Mareshin was evil, she knew that, but at the same time, he seemed to have a kind part to him as well. She still couldn't bring herself to trust him, though. She knew what demons could do to those who were defenseless, and usually they did things simply for that reason: they can.

((It's okay <33))

After Mareshin told Danielle she had nothing to worry about she was even more in disarray, he was never good at reassuring people. It was then that he picked up a faint glimpse of two people from Danielle, if Mareshin was fully connected with Danielle, he would have seen clearly who those people where, but he was still waiting for Melody's reply.

((Still kinda blank T.T ))

((Camping rocks. especailly with the best weather in 4 years.))

Zion's feathers twitched he considered momentarily trying to listen in on the conversation. But mind magic wasn't his forte. Zion could guard his own mind well but penatrating anothers without consent was harder. Also considering that it was Mareshin it would be extreamly rude to try. So Zion waited. The only thing he could sense was the little demonling's unease and fright. Then the unusual woman spoke directly into his mind. By doing so he picked out a slight hint of angelic power. If he hadn't been so on edge with Mareshin around Zion would never have noticed that slight thread of power. It also helped that she had been the one to iniciate contact. His feathers bristled. He truelly disliked angels because out of all the races they were the most hypocritical. Demons at least were honest and straight forward. He normal recation to the presence of an angel was to either kill it or or ignore it completely. But there were unaswered questions, What was this truth that she spoke of? And what was this lie on which his life was based? In addition why was a heavenly being hanging around with Mareshin? These were all important questions to him. He nodded his head and gestured away from the group.

"I would like to know the truth. But if you're wasting my time I would have you know something, out of all the species in this world I find angels around the lowest." With it was the unspoken message of I know what you are, and If you're lieing I will be most irratated. Zion prided himself one not speaking the obvious. The only problem was that Zion couldn't gage her strength. He knew she was an angel from that brief contact but now he felt nothing. She appeared to be human.

He took a step away from the group in the direction he had gestured. He looked over at Mareshin. "Mareshin I'll leave you here with the little demonling." He turned away and added "I also have an interest here in the Dani's friend." Which was true. Zion was still curious about that grim reaper and as long as the demonling was a friend of Zions current interest it forced Zion to care about the demonling. Since so much had been stirred up Zion boredom had long since disapated. And Zion would fight for that which provided amusement, even against Mareshin. But at the same time the warning was probably redundant. From the body postured Zion didn't beleive the odds were high of Mareshin killing Dani out of hand.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 10, 2008 9:55 pm

Danielle was still afraid of what the great demon could have received from her mind, and suddenly hearing Zion's voice caused the little demonling to jump, and turn her scared eyes to him. For a few moments, no words passed between he and the woman who held his attention. He turned away, then, causing Dani to whimper almost inaudibly. He was leaving? Her heart skipped a beat as he announced he was leaving the girl with the other male. The girl looked at him with pleading eyes, but he seemed to avoid them. It seemed he was very interested in that woman. It was then that Danielle turned back to Mareshin, looking at him fearfully, unable to move. He frightened her... Part of her wondered what he would do now that he was alone with her.

Melody smiled, he was just like his father. So honest and somewhat crude. She laughed at his dislike for angels, for it mirrored her own. She was surprised he didn't realize what she was. But then again she hadn't exactly let her power flow freely. He wouldn't feel the slight taint in her, the time that had let the hate and remorse fester inside her. "Well then I suppose it would do me good to tell you I am no longer a angel." she said with a sad smile. "And I assure you, your not the only one feeling irritation." she said shaking her head. Her eyes darted over to Mareshin, knowing he would still be able to hear them. With a small glance upward her wings extended and she shot into the air. "Too many ears for such valuable information." she said into his mind. She hovered above him, her black wings glinting in the light. She made herself invisiable to human eyes, but he would be able to follow her just fine. "Come if you truly want to know who you are..." she said smiling.
