Shadow__Dweller What do you make of the new cash shop? It really shows how gaia is now concentrating on making money, and it bothers me because I'm not sure why they need that much... Hopefully it's being put into the battle system budget domokun

They make it sound as if the prices are reasonible..as if they will be worth millions in the marketplace, but if you pay them real money, it'll be cheaper. I still don't understand why people pay real money for some pixels... sweatdrop Gaia should have plenty of money anyway, from the advertisements..and the shop..

Cash shop depresses me. It forebodes a Neopets-esque Gaia in the future, where no one cares about the users, only the money they shell out D:
On a happy note; I found the Halloween event to kick supreme a** this year 3nodding

Sure, gaia makes a lot with all the cash shops, monthly collectables, and sponsors...but you know how much money it takes to keep up a domain that's got 100k+ users a day (That's a -lot- of bandwith) and the cost of all the servers they need to support that?
Then again... I'm sure they're not really struggling to make ends meet each month. surprised
And the gold prices found on the market place for the cash items are user set. If everyone had posted them for 1mil gold...people would have to pay that much, or end up buying them for themselves. And going by sealed letters, it's about $2.50 for 16k gold (back when I joined it was $2.50 for 2k gold). You can get 500 cash points for $5.00...so 250 cash point items should be worth about 16k gold.
The market is all user defined...with the only exception of gold bought store items...they're all maxed at whatever gaia's selling them for. >>;

They got a professional to tell them that..I'm sure any member of Gaia could have told them that wouldn't work..

Shadow__Dweller and their 2% deduction fee didn't work did it? They got a professional to tell them that..I'm sure any member of Gaia could have told them that wouldn't work.. The 2% is rather annoying, but they need more ways to get gold off of gaia...it's easy for gaians to make money...and if they don't make ways to make it disappear, prices for things that aren't store bought will skyrocket due to the amount of gold on gaia in general.
