Luna looked at the woman standing in front of her, wary. Her eyes flicked over the bulge in her boot before glancing over the rest of her and back to her eyes. She pondered for a moment, weighing the risk of going with a woman probably carrying a weapon against the risk of her hands getting infected, and finally deciding that the infection would be more hassle. She didn't exactly have anything to steal, if that were the woman's intentions. But after looking into her black eyes, she didn't think it was. She felt the blood seeping into her sleeves, and looked down briefly. Seeing the growing red spots on her shirt, she sighed.
"Yeah, I think that might be for the best."
She gathered the loose fabric of her sleeves into her hands and held it tight against her knuckles, hoping that the pressure might help stop the bleeding, even if it would start anew when she pulled them away.
"My, uh, my name's Luna. Thanks."

"No problem. I'm Lacy," she said, offering a brief smile. As Blackbeard settled down on her shoulder for a small nap, Lacy looked around at the surrounding shops and apartment buildings. She didn't know anyone in the neighborhood and doubted that any of them would be too happy to let Luna wash the blood off of her in their bathrooms. She thought about the kind yet shy mechanic and made her decision. "Look, I've got a cab. It's being fixed in a shop just a few minutes from here. I'm pretty sure we can at least wash the blood off, there." Or at least I hope... Lightly touching the other woman's shoulder in reassurance, Lacy gestured for her to walk with her toward Aaron's garage. "Do you mind if I smoke?"

"I look stupid as a lobster, too." She smiles slightly, glad that Levi was able to get herself back into control without the medicine. She sighs when she hears the whisper, standing again and looking around. "You know it's not good vor- We levt zee bike behind." She scowls as she cuts herself off. She hoped no one helped themselves to Levi's bike, things wouldn't end well for them likely. She tries to make a mental map to backtrack to it, but can't remember all the twists and turns they took. "Shite..."

Kaylin watches as first Pepper and then the other lady leave, frowning when the other lady leaves money for her. Did she really seem that helpless? Just because she was small didn't me- And the brunet she had been watching suddenly speaks, startling her and almost making her loose her perch. She blinks and looks at first the woman and then the money, sighing silently after a moment and quickly moving back down the tree. She grabs the money and, after a moments hesitation, tails the new lady as she heads back to the cafe. She frowns at the ground as she walks, not noticing as she catches up and starts walking beside Gypsy.

It wasn't long before the slightly shorter girl was walking beside the waitress. She just smiled, glad the girl had gotten down okay. "Well hello, decided to get a little something to eat then?" Her pace remained slow as they continued toward the hotel and through the entrance. She still had a bit of time left on her break, and moved off to one side near a wall before stopping and facing the girl beside her. "S-so, did you want to eat or is there something else you might be needing?" Gypsy wasn't exactly sure she'd get much of an answer but she felt it couldn't hurt to try asking. This girl seemed to have raised the worry of two others and now herself. "Oh if you need to call someone, I can get them to let you use the phone at the bar." Not being aware of the girl's near inability to speak, she thought this might be very helpful.

Luna nodded and walked along with Lacy, staying just half a step behind, unsure of exactly where she was going. She made a quick mental note of where she was and which businesses she passed along the way, so she could get back to that alley and eventually to her leftover food. She sighed nearly inaudibly, If it's still there, she thought. She didn't have much hope of recovering it, and while she felt bad for leaving it behind, she wasn't about to ask Lacy to take a detour for something that may or may not be there.
"Smoke? No, I don't mind. Feel free."
She smiled a little and pulled her sleeves tighter around her knuckles, the cuts starting to sting as her mind cleared further. Her hands were tender, and squeezing the fabric brought on a new wave of pain. s**t, did I break something? She winced but kept walking. She'd have a chance to examine them as soon as they were clean, but trying to do it now would be foolish and counterproductive.
"You said this place was just a few minutes away, right?"

Lacy lit up a cigarette and inhaled deeply. They were walking at a brisk pace. Maybe she'd walked longer than she thought...they had already walked for ten minutes and she had merely been strolling when she left the garage. Somewhere in there, she'd lost track of time. Glancing back sideways at Luna, she noticed the small wince of pain. God, I hope it's not broken. Broken bones mean hospitals and I doubt this woman has insurance. Lacy didn't do hospitals. She hadn't been to a doctor, herself in....well, over three years. The blood seeping into Luna's sleeves didn't bode well for the slender woman and looking at the woman's wide green eyes, she sincerely hoped the wounds were just superficial. Frowning slightly to herself, she started as the shorter girl spoke. Spying the garage a mere block away, Lacy told her,"Yeah, it's just up ahead."
Just then, Lacy's cell phone began to ring. She pulled it out of her left boot and answered,"Lacy speaking."

"Ms. P-Prate..? Th-This is Aaron St-Straight. Your t-taxi is as g-good as new. Y-You can come by-by anyt-time to pick it up." said mechanic once the woman picked up. He was just about to clock out once the woman came to pick up her vehicle. The young man was tired & felt like he needed a long stint at the bar after the weird day. Luckily, Aaron had a strong alcohol tolerance, courtesy of his time in the military. Though after he took care of Romania the plant.

"Thank you, Aaron. I'll actually be there in just a minute," Lacy told the mechanic. She hung up the phone and placed it back in her left boot. "Come on," she told Luna, "the shop's right here." As they approached the shop, Lacy caught sight of her taxi. She stopped Aaron. Was he trying to clock out? Well...we'll just be a minute. "Wow. She looks...amazing! Better than when I brought her in." She pulled her wallet out and paid him her bill, giving him a generous tip. As she placed her hand lightly on his arm, she told him, "You did a great job. Thank you...a lot...especially for not charging me an arm and a leg. I know where I'll be taking her if ever she needs to be fixed...and look, keep my card and if you ever need a ride anywhere...just give me a call." Remembering Luna and her situation, Lacy caught Aaron one last time, "Oh! Look, my uh.....friend...needs to get cleaned up. She, uh....hurt herself. Do you have a bathroom...or something?"

Luna stood back slightly, her hand still wrapped in her sleeves. She thought the bleeding had stopped, but knew as soon as the cloth was torn away it would start again. She hoped it wouldn't be that bad this time. She looked up into the young mechanic's eyes and attempted a half-smile, her mind focused on how she was going to take care of herself if her hands were broken. She felt a bit uncomfortable in the shop, but knew it was her best chance of getting clean running water for a while. She hoped the mechanic - Arron, was it? - would let her wash up. A place like this ought to have basic first aid supplies, mechanical accidents did happen.
"I don't mean to be a bother. If it's too much trouble, I can..." Her voice trailed off when she tried shifting her hand. She relaxed it, trying to relieve some of the pain, but it didn't seem to help.

The mechanic was gracious for the large tip & was glad to now have the taxi driver's repeat business. He smiled & thanked Lacy. Then he caught sight of Luna. He quickly felt faint at the site of blood, being brought back to his time deployed. "Y-Y-Yes... We-We have some... me-medical k-kits in-in th-the... b-bathroom un-under th-the sink." he said quietly. Aaron wanted to sit down as he felt his chest tighten. The young man pointed to where the bathrooms are. His eyes wide & frightened.

Recognizing the distress in the young mechanic and thinking over what may have caused it, Luna slipped her bloodied sleeves behind her back and held them there as she quickly walked to the bathroom, muttering a quiet "Thank you" as she did.
Turning the tap on using her wrist, and waiting for the water to warm a little, Luna worked to calm her tumultuous mind once again. Rather than worry about pushing the sleeves of her shirt up, she stuck them under the water with her hands, attempting to rinse some of the blood out. Knowing a lost cause when she saw one, she sighed and carefully pulled her sleeves up to her elbows with her teeth. Watching the blood run down the sink was... oddly satisfying, in a morbid way, and she watched for a moment before attempting to wash the blood off and examine her hands.
Her left hand was tender, and the knuckles were split in several places. But nothing in her initial examination indicated that she'd broken any bones in that hand. Her right hand, however... The outer metacarpal felt more than just bruised. How badly she'd broken it, she couldn't say, but she would have a tough time using that hand for much of anything for a while. She dried her hands carefully, wincing when the paper towels hit the open skin, and wrapped the paper around her knuckles. She knelt to look under the sink for the supplies Arron had mentioned, and quickly found them. Balancing a kit on the edge of the sink, she opened it and found exactly what she needed. Cutting her sleeves was... not ideal, but the way the mechanic had reacted to the blood before... she didn't want to risk throwing him into a full-blown panic attack. She found a small pair of scissors in the kit and cut the sleeves at the elbow, pulling them off and placing them on the edge of the sink. She'd figure out something to do with them, but she needed to worry about her hands first.
She rinsed them with peroxide, letting it sit for a few moments before wiping the drips from the healthy skin, then dabbed some neosporin on the cuts. She could probably do with something stronger, but it didn't look like anything was available so this would have to do. She applied gauze pads to her knuckles, and placed some tongue depressors along her right pinkie finger, before wrapping gauze around her hands to keep everything clean and in place. She dumped some peroxide on the cut off sleeves, rinsing the remaining blood from them, and then cut them into strips and wrapped them in paper towels, gingerly putting the package into a pocket.
She put everything back as neatly as she could with limited dexterity, and opened the door, walking out of the bathroom, mostly blood-free. She looked toward Arron and smiled a little.
"I'm sorry, truly. I did not mean to cause trouble. I appreciate your kindness, and if there's ever anything I can do to repay you, please let me know. I... I'm usually around the park near here."
She looked toward Lacy and bowed her head slightly.
"Thank you, too. I don't expect kindness from strangers in this town, and yours was, and is, greatly appreciated."
((Sorry for the long post... I kinda got carried away >>))

As Luna went to the bathroom to clean herself up, Lacy peered at Aaron. Oh man. That guy does not look good. His face was pale and his eyes looked like they were full of pure terror. Was it just because of the blood? Obviously there was something behind all of this. Lacy had spent more time sincerely interacting with people today than she had in the past year. Being alone so much made it difficult and uncomfortable for her to try to comfort other people...but this poor guy. He seemed like such a nice guy and she just couldn't stand the way he was looking, right now.
"Hey, look, are you ok? If it's because of Luna's hands....I'm sure she'll be fine." Frowning, she tried to console him, "Look...if it helps, you can have a cigarette. Or...maybe you need to try to eat something?" God, what if he started hyperventilating? Did she have something in her cab to use?
Luna came out of the bathroom, cut sleeves and bandaged hands. She spoke her thank yous to the two. "Don't worry about it....it's really not a big deal." Realizing what an odd trio they must look like, Lacy couldn't help but smirk. These are possibly two of the only people in this city that are just as messed up as me, she mused. Bouncing on her toes, her mind racing a mile a minute, Lacy finally sighed and came to a decision, "Luna? If you need to go to the hospital, I can take you. And if you don't....I know I could use a good drink." She nodded at Aaron, "You, too. You look like you could use one. I've got plenty of booze at my apartment if you want. You can both drink free of charge....or at least until it's gone. Or I can take you to a bar. Whatever."

Aaron shook his head, calming himself down with a few deep breaths. "I-I hope you were able to-to cl-clean yourself up g-good... Sorry I-I... c-can't handle seeing bl-blood anymore." he said still somewhat tense. He wanted to get home & breakdown quietly. "I-I'm off the cl-clock now... so-so... I-I'm going to head h-home..." he said grabbing the plant that the florist had given him, "It-It was nice meeting y-you both..." The mechanic gave the driver her keys & quickly left.

Kaylin had stopped beside the waitress, listening to her speak before pulling out her notebook and pen. 'Unless I can somehow text from the phone, it won't be very useful for me. I was just going to get something to eat, if that's alright.' She holds the note up for the woman to see before writing something else down as an afterthought, 'I go by Kaylin, by the way.'
