"I can handle this. It's been worse before," Alex answered, unable to hide the shaking in his voice. The last thing he wanted was for some nurse to start poking things in him. At any rate, the medicine was uneffective now. He couldn't help but laugh a bit at Shin's promise; the guy cared so much. It made him guilty for hiding things from him so often.

"Liar..and if it has been worse lex ive never seen it, heh honestly I cant imagine whats worse then an innards eating parasite" shin frowned at alex a bit angrily, he wasnt about to go against his wishes though, not yet atleast "So stubborn, gah... how are we gonna save you hmm?" maybe hed thought of something, other then yuki and himself healing the guy, he wasnt sure it would be enough though.

"I wish I knew how. And hey, it's better than a giant hole," Alex said, referring to when Dairen had stabbed him. "Daniel survived about six years with this curse. There's no way I'll give in, though." He shuddered as another burn ran through him, though it was a lot milder than the earlier ones; maybe it was fading? As soon as he thought that, a painful one shot through. His grip on himself tightened so much he was sure he was gonna end up suffocating. That had been cheap since he'd relaxed right then. "I'm gonna be honest with you; I don't think any amount of pain killers is gonna help right now," he smirked, his gaze turned on Shin.

Yukiko lifted her head off the bed, leaving her crossed arms on it. She just put her chin down, still crouching on the ground. Letting out a soft yawn , she put her hand over her chest again and the other one over her mouth.

"It is?" shin giving lex a skeptical look "Well atleast you arent hacking up blood..I guess thats a small improvement...eh...I dont care how long daniel survived, your not gonna have to deal with it at all if I have my way" smiling when he heard alex say he wouldnt give up..thank goodness for that! Another little frown crossing his face as he watched his friend. "Che, you could have told me that in the first place, you just like messing with us huh?" returning alexs smirk, telling the truth was so much simpler yet he just didnt seem to do it often! "Mkay so the meds are useless, anything that you think will work?" they could try healing him right now, just him and yuki.

"Like I know," Alex chuckled. He let out one final wince before he finally relaxed, ignoring the minimal burns he was feeling right now. Then he became aware of a small shuffling under his bed, weakly pushing himself up into a sitting position and nearly jumping out of his skin when a black furball crawled out from under his bed. Of course, he quickly realized it was Button and smiled, reaching down and picking up the pup.
Button whined as he was suddenly. But when he realized who held him, he started wagging his tail and squirming to lick Alex, eventually managing. "Meet the newest member of the family. His name is Button, according to his collar. We are trying to find his owner, but the number is scratched out."

"What the heck? Lex had puppies" shin snickered a little as alex dragged the 'newest member' out from under the blankets, how did he not notice the little fluff ball before! "Button, huh, hes adorable lex I think you guys should keep him" shin grinned watching the happy squirming puppy "Chances are, that if the owner really wanted him back, hed be looking harder, besides the little thing is better off with you. Wow hes pretty fluffy for something so small" still smiling as he lightly patted the little fluff ball on the head, so soft.
"Yes you are one lucky little puppy, got yourself an awesome owner" he smiled at the little doggy.

"Ah. Careful. He kind of teething," Alex said as Button tried to gnaw on Shin's hand. The man couldn't help but laugh; he really was a sweet dog. Why did Yuri's choices always end up good? Probably 'cause she's usually right, he thought, resisting the urge to sigh.

"Oh now you tell me! Lex your dog is trying to maul me!" pulling his hand back from the little puppy jaws "Silly thing, gnaw on your owner huh.." smiling as he went back to pet the dog again, baby teeth didnt hurt so much, now if buttons was bigger he might be less inclined to become his personal chew toy.

Yukiko lifted her head more and looked at the puppy. "You think it's good with numbers?" She stood up, staring to lean against the wall next to the bed a little bit, but she wasn't exactly standing up stiright. Yukiko brushed her hair out oif her face.

"He's not that old. I doubt he'd know anything about numbers," Alex chuckled, watching as Button started happily licking Shin's hand, then resuming to try and gnaw on it. Eventually, the pup gave up and just squirmed until Alex let him go, where he stepped over beside his owner and lay there with his head between his paws.
"Huh. I might not have to buy a chew toy after all. I have one right here," Alex chuckled, giving Shin a curious look before simply snickering; nah, he wouldn't do that. That wouldn't be nice.

"Why would a dog need to know numbers anyways?" Shin asked curiously, never really thinking about a dog needing to count things. "Hes adorable, heh hey im not gonna be his permanent chew toy you know, its just it tickles.." he smiled sticking his tongue out at alex "Your weird lex you know that, yeah I know what your thinking, shesh evil.." no he would not be a chewy toy, the doggy was so cute though, and just a little bundle of sleepy fur, so awesome.

Yukiko looked at Shin. "MIkarou knows numbers. I taught him since he won't wear a collar. Just in case he gets lost, even though he can sniff his way home. He's smart... most of the time." Yukiko crouched down again like she couldn't get comfortable or something. Her chest was hurting a bit and moving was only making her dizzy.

"I don't think I'll have that problem," Alex said as he pet Button a little. Then the little dog perked his head up suddenly, tilted it to one side, and jumped down from the bed and crawled under, out of sight but looking up at everyone from his hiding spot. Alex utterly confused. Then a knock on his door made him jump; looking there, he found Anthony.
"Well, well. At least your awake," the doctor said, walking in with a towel in his hand, a paper on top of that. Why he was doing this, he had no idea. But he walked over to Alex and gave the paper to him. "You're actually doing alright, physically. That doesn't explain a thing, though. May I guess and say it has to do with 'other' issues?"
"Maybe, maybe not," Alex shrugged. Then he looked down at the paper in his hands and scanned it, but before he could get started, Anthony dropped the towel on his head, and he was forced to stop and lift the thing out from in front of his eyes. "What was that for?!"
"That's for sneaking out. Now get dried up," replied the doctor was he headed out of the room and left without another word.
Alex sighed, moving the towel over his shoulders and reading the paper again. He found it very hard to not want to crumple it up or rip it to shreds. "b*****d. . .what part of that is good," he muttered shakily, setting aside the paper

"Whoa, that is one smooth doc lex..im surprised you ever managed to get out of here without being noticed..or did you?" shin snickered watching doc anthony leave, honestly he liked the guy a whole bunch, not for the needles thing but because you just couldnt get anything past him, atleast lex couldnt, cool. A little curious about what was on the paper but not daring to ask right now, whatever it was it just seemed to tick lex off, not exactly a good thing.
"Still hard to imagine a dog knowing numbers, words maybe but numbers, thats just silly" shin smiled playing with yukis hair a little bit "Yeah we know hes smart, im sure buttons will be smart to when he gets bigger, huh little guy.." clucking his tongue a little bit to try and draw the puppy back out from his hiding place, maybe he was allready a smart puppy.
