::Although conscious now and able to talk, Ather had been very quiet since his operation. His arm was still tightly wrapped to him, and he was often very tired. It was rare to get a good conversation from him before he complained of fatigue and fell asleep. And he was delirious when he was awake, not knowing what day it was or his own name, sometimes.
Terra, though, despite her brother's quiet-ness, stayed by his side almost 24 hours a day. Jasmine usually had to convince her to leave to go eat, see friends, and just stretch her legs.::

::She had been in the infirmary, this time, almost 8 hours straight. She was going on a new record, it seemed. The outside world had stopped for her; Terra hadn't been out much, only when she was practically drug away from Ather's side.
She'd just...been so close to losing him before. The thought of him being in pain and her not being there to help him...it was simply something she didn't want to think about. So it would not be an option. She'd be there by his side each time he needed her.

The Redwallers could not have asked for a more perfect day. The weather was sunny and mild, a gentle breeze serving to waft about the scent of freshly picked flowers and the sensational smells of the heaps of food being continuously pumped from the abbey kitchens.

The highlight event of the day had been the long-awaited wedding between two of Redwalls most illustrious members : Turan Cyano and Tannia Fellepian. The young couple had not even waited until evening for the ceremony, but had it in late afternoon to satisfy the hungry and impatient abbeydwellers who'd had to suffer through the morning with the aroma of the delicious foods without being allowed any.

Though a large ceremony, as most of the Redwall inhabitants were present, it was a fairly simple ceremony - nothing extravagant; a relaxed, quiet event, made all the sweeter for it.

Tannia had not even the opportunity to receive the traditional cold feet, having more or less been awoken that morning to be told it was to be her wedding day. She ventured no opposition to the matter, having waited quite long enough for this day herself.

She was nothing short of beautiful this day, dressed all in her white wedding dress. A gold trim had been woven into the fabric around her waist and down the loose, sloping sleeves. She wore a veil about her head, the thin material covering her trademark green, amber-flecked eyes that never once strayed from Turan's in the entirety of the wedding. The only other thing she wore was a a small, golden, heart-shaped necklace with a small sapphire encrusted on one side, and an emerald on the other - a birthstone necklace Turan had given her shortly after their engagement.

Now it was growing dark in the celebration-c**-wedding reception, and everything was still going full-swing. A few talented musicians with string instruments and small flutes and piccolos played music through the evening, alternating appropriately between fast-paced and slow songs. As a slow, sweet song played, Tannia was yet again in Turan's arms, dancing slowly with her arms wrapped around his neck, looking as if she could stay there forever. The content smile and stars in her eyes had never once disappeared from her face since the moment the two of them had been announced and Turan had leaned down to kiss her.... their first kiss as husband and wife.

One very interesting sight at the ceremony was Eula. Typically seen in a tunic, it was a significant change to see her dressed as she was now. She had no aversion to dressing nicely, she just never found the occasion to do so. Today, however, she took the opportunity to flaunt how wonderfully and ridiculously feminine she could really be. Favoring a soft violet material that brought out her eyes, her dress appeared simple, and even prettier for it. The straps came up around her neck to tie at the back, leaving most of her shoulders and all of her arms bare. It was fitted down to her waist where it then fell into several folds, a frilled slip underneath giving shape and flow to the bottom. She had taken three thin green vines and braided them together, attaching the ends to form a little circlet. Attached onto the circlet was just one purple daisy, so when set on her head there was only one flower, sitting just on the side of her head in the vine band. On a clear twine tied around her neck, she sported a little piece of her shoreline home. Six perfect pen shells were attached at the center to form a perfect circle about the size of a sand dollar, the pin shells glimmering shades of purple, green and yellow in the lights.

For those thinking Eula would be uncomfortable dressed as she was, they were sorely mistaken. She not only seemed at ease, but even having a world of fun in showing a new side of her. Perhaps even more surprisingly, Eula was quite the dancer. She took immediately to every opportunity to dance about the grounds, twirling in her pretty dress. When not dancing, she was usually milling about the sides, picking at bits of food and generally just waiting to be asked to dance again by some other abbey-member.

All in all... a perfect day, finally.

::Seeing her cousin marry was enough to take Sasha's mind off of any mishaps that had been going on since the groups victorious return to Redwall. She was smiling almost as much as Tannia, simply happy for her dear cousin and her newest member of the family now, Turan. Not like he wasn't already family enough, but now it was law.
It was odd seeing Sasha in anything less than comfortable clothing; ones most would combat train in. On occasion (rare occasion), she would wear a skirt, but tights underneath just in case.
Now, though, she was in an olive green dress, a gold tie around the center and light purple, long, flowing sleeves starting at her shoulders. The colors brought out her grey fur and light purple eyes. However torturous dress etiquette was, Sasha was willing to put up with it for her cousin's special day.::

: biggrin ressed in a sharp, dark brown suit, the old badger was having the time of his life, telling stories to the young dibbuns to keep them occupied during the more serious ceremonies, and dancing with the older youngin's until he became tired. But, even sitting down, he still had energy. Cup of ale in paw, he spoke of old memories with the new couple; how Turan used to think girls were icky and how he'd never marry one.
Having no children of his own, Constantine looked to Turan almost like a son; he was delighted to finally see the lad with a maid he loved and cared about. He deserved such happiness.::

Donato, too, was dressed up for the occasion, but with not so much of a difference from his normal attire. He wore a neatly brushed dark green tunic that probably hadn't left his trunk in ages. His only other ornament was a brown belt that he had probably borrowed from someone, as his only belt was the plain one he wore every day. He was enjoying himself - the wedding, the food, the music and the general novelty of seeing everyone so dressed up all combined to make him thoroughly cheerful.
Seeing Eula in such feminine garb was most strange. He characteristically avoided the dancing, but kept an eye on Eula, amazed at how comfortable she seemed, and how different from her usual self. Anyway! He allowed (forced?) his eyes to wander toward the knot of dibbuns sitting the old badger. There, of course, was Julia, giggling and covered in sticky pastry....

Shune sat with the other Dibbuns, a basket of strawberries sitting before her. She generously shared her treasure, doing her part to make sure all the nicely dressed abbey infants were covered in red berry juice. She herself was wearing a little blue smock dress, white lace frills done up on her collar and the ends of her sleeves, with a poofy skirt. It was interesting to see something that actually fit Shune, who was typically seen in a habit far too large for her. She sat on her knees, listening to Constantine, paws stained red with strawberry juice.

A lively tune was kicked up by the musicians, and many of the former slow-dancers left the dance-floor to grab something to eat. The younger crowd of the abbey took to the open area to dance to fast-paced beat.

Eula had been reaching for a blueberry tart on a table, but before she could, her wrist was grabbed and she was tugged out. She laughed, going readily.

Jamie had her, dancing with her for the third or fourth time this evening. The young Long Patrol hare had made his own rounds about, proving himself to be quite a flirt with the young maids of Redwall. He'd meant to leave for his return journey today, but Eula had begged him to stay one more day. Waking to the irresistible smells lofting from the kitchens had been enough to convince him to stay just one more day for the wedding.

Jamie held his own with Eula, the pair able to put on quite a show when dancing. He spun her out, then back in to slide a paw around her back and dance in circles about the area with her. They moved fluidly together, obviously enjoying the fast-paced, energetic dancing. The song ended on a high note and Jamie dipped Eula low, but holding her carefully. He picked her back up and Eula grinned, actually seeming breathless for once.

He winked at her and gave a gallant bow. "I haven't yet found a better dancer here m'gel. Must be a Salamandastron thing, wot?"

"Keep lookin'. Most of 'em are just too scared to try," and she sent a really obvious look in Donato's direction. Leaving Jamie, who already was spying out a new dance partner, she moved off to Donato now, grabbing a cup of tea to quench her thirst.

"Having fun?"

::Faith, above all, had to be a highlight from the wedding when she forgot her lines so many times, repeating them after Jasmine to seal the marriage herself, suddenly insisting under new decree, the Abbess got kissed before the bride; now seated highest at the table, an adjustment of so many books had to be placed beneath the Respected and Revered Mother Abbess so she could survey all the festivities; and of course she had two beasts aside her; Jasmine; and Gem::

::And Kusaa, who sat bashfully aside::

::Jasmine was always in the same robes, it never changed, day or night, rain or shine, celebration or wedding, it was something that would remain constant always as she beamed slightly aside her daughter, watching the festivities also::

Ya know... ::Faith managed to get past a munch of strawberry tart that was ruining her dress; a pale blue addorned in such a floral pattern it seemed Jasmine must have been hiding it for a good season to have seen it complete... but it could be washed out, tonight was no night for complaining or shoving manners or ettiqutte down Faith's throat, she had plenty of food before them to do that with; as she wiped her bandaged paws over her mouth to clear the muzzle a little:: ...Jus' cause I can' dance, doesn' mean you shouldn'...

::Jasmine blinked for a moment, looking to her daughter; and then grinned; as she looked down:: I think I'd prefer up here myself now...

::Gem and Faith exchanged a look, before Faith raised her head all regal like with a sudden air:: As ya motha abbuss... I gonna tell ya enjoy yasel' mumma, okie?

You gorra dance for us!! ::She giggled, toying playfully there... whether she realised it was the best advice could be given, or was just playing, it didn't matter; especially when Jasmine's grin turned to a smirk::

As you insist, dear Abbess... ::And she reached down; Faith blinking incredulous as she was picked up:: If I must dance, then so must you!!! ::And down into the thro she went, Gem giggling away::

::But eventually the bat stopped, looking to Kusaa, who just sat slightly huddled up:: Whu'ss wrong?

::Kusaa blushed full over her cheeks, bending her head down even further:: Nothing... ::She murmured out::

Ya look preddy... ::And that only caused Kusaa to nearly smack the table; as she sat all in the frilliest pink you ever could imagine::

...Thank you... ::Kusaa replied blandly, if only just a teeny drop of her sincerity dropping through...::

Girls... time to show these abbeybeasts how to really celebrate... ::Both bats looked up, to see Whisper, dressed in a full celebration outfit... for a male: dressing girly didn't quite fit with the bat; instead; she looked as dashing a warrior you would probably ever find in tight leather, tights, little decorations, ruff; hat and many other various items, tipped finally with her rapier sheathed safely at side::

::And all three suddenly scrambled off like naughty dibbuns...::

::It began slowly, at signal as Rosa held a paw for many of the creatures to halt the music, and as many would turn, there stood Gem, a beaming smile on her face; and right beside her, Kusaa, who had THE most embarrassed look in the land to stand there, and Gem leant forward, passing her fellow bat just a little smile of reassurance as the music began...::

::Gem indeed as seen before, was a great songstress, on many celebration, Whisper had ensured her daughter's highlight, and it seemed no break of tradition would come here... as the music rose, drums beating first, accompanied by a lute slowly rising, becoming faster; and when Gem suddenly turned to the crowd; it was a fast, strong song that seemed to rush not only out of her lungs, but Kusaa's also, one that required a partner to reach above the crescendo of music in the background; as she immediately grabbed hold of Kusaa; the pair rushing into a wheeling dance!::

Let's fly to the prettiest sky,
Towards a future unknown we try!

The light dissolves the rain soaking my heart, drop by drop
I'm protecting this little love with wings which tremble no stop!

Do not forget that this world is our pleasure line
I'll never be afraid to fly!

::Instantly, both of them flung their wings wide, as if to take off, the resulting combat of their wings sending them in a grand upwards spin before parting in mid-air, finding their balance as they once more flew back towards each other, gripping hold of each others paws::

Let's fly together in the endless sky!
Fly without letting go of my hand!
Wandering while seeking out our dream,
I'll hold you as forever, together we stand!

Let's go fly together in the endless sky
Fly without ever letting go!
We'll fly to the furthest sky,
Together in the morning glow!!

::Once again, they parted, drawing between them a long piece of silk, and as the music went onward, they wheeled and whirled in the air, perhaps not as graceful as anything, but little mattered when they flew all their hearts into it; the white silk against the knight sky folding, turning and rushing tthis way and that, showing them again before it fell; as did they, with such movement that when they hit the stage, they kept dancing, wheeling round together!::

Let's go fly in the most beautiful sky
Towards an uncertain future we'll try!
It's okay to get hurt if you'll be there...
You soothe me kindly and strongly and we fly away in the morning glow...

::And it was over, as the band of musical beasts hit their high; and a final beat struck; and from the sky, petals fell::

::By the dozens and scores, they fell upon the stage, the tired musicians and everywhere, on everybeast on sight as Whisper stood at the very top of the abbey, holding her large bags, each sliced just right as she continued to fling the petals sparkling downward, smiling to herself as she watched::

::And finally, Gem and Kusaa, one paw to paw each, bowed, Kusaa's cheeks alight in a crimson blaze, as if she wanted to be swallowed up right then and there before anything else...::

::Not one to just sit by and let happiness swarm by her, Sasha entered the middle of the dance floor, taking the paw of her dear cousin, managing to snatch the hare away from her new husband for the first time that evening. She comically held the other haremaid's waist, as if to do the tango::

You must dance with me, cousin! ::she smiled, almost like a new person. She was quite good at forcing emotions away from her mind when she wanted to be happy. This was Tannia's day. Her's a Turan's. She would make sure the both of them were enjoying themselves

She gave her cousin a good spin, holding onto one of her arms and watching Tannia twirl like a ballerina, the other's dress flowing beautifully along. Then back again they were, A paw on Tannia's waist, the other held in Tannia's own paw, and she was off doing some sort of tango, giggling along with her cousin all the while::

All gathered had stopped what they were doing to watch the performance. Most present were familiar with Gem's superb talent, and certainly were not let down now. An eruption of applause met the two bats, clapping, shouting and whistles of approval.

Jamie had made his way over to Eula and Donato. He elbowed Eula a bit in the side, jerking his head in the direction of Gem and Kusaa. "Looks like they jolly well know what they're doin', eh?"

"They have wings," Eula replied, in a voice that implied she could do that as well if she had limbs that allowed to become airborne sprouting from her back. She'd been impressed, nonetheless, and had cheered with the others.

Jamie shrugged a bit in reply, moving off to Gem and Kusaa. "Amazin' show an' all that, cutie," he said in a cheerful voice, a little note added to his voice that many adopted when speaking with little young creatures. He turned to Kusaa with a smile, still using the same tone. After all, he assumed she was a Dibbun... a strange looking one to be sure, but a Dibbun nonetheless. "An' t'you! I don't believe I've had the pleasure, wotwot. Name's Jamie, an' yerself, little'un?"

Before Tannia could so much as blink after the performance, she was yanked away from Turan. She turned about, startled, then grinned to see Sasha. "Hello, you!" she said merrily, twirling out as instructed, then twirling back in. She returned the gesture to let Sasha twirl, then took her paw to dance. "We ought to put on quite a spectacle - neither of us know what we're doing," she laughed.

It was Turan that made Tannia look as if she could dance. Surprisingly enough, the young warrior was a rather good dancer. While his father had been training him in battle, his mother had insisted on teaching him how to dance with females. It had been a humiliating experience to be sure, but it payed off. Robbed now of both his wife and dance-partner, he meandered off to the side, milling about and trying some of the food offered about the grounds.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 03, 2005 3:36 pm

Who cares? ::was her reply, followed by a good laugh as she twirled about on her footpaws. Sasha wasn't all that bad of a dancer. But, you see, when she wanted to make a scene and let her cousin have a good laugh, she was also not that bad of a goof, either. She was purposely flailing her arms about more than she needed to, and making each move more flamboyant than the next. The small crowd that had gathered was laughing, Tannia was laughing, even she was laughing.

It was a good day, indeed::

::Seeing the young warrior by himself for the first time since the wedding began, Constantine took this time to sit aside with Turan, to converse and catch up, if you will.

Helping himself to his footpaws with his new, rather impressive looking oak walking stick, the old badger held out a paw to Turan, as if to catch his attention and keep him from moving farther away::

Turan, me boy. ::he called with a smile, his small circular glasses clinking against the metal cross around his neck as he moved. Finally to the young hare's side, Constantine clapped Turan on the shoulder, then held out his paw for him to shake::

In all my years of knowing you, I wasn't quite sure when this day would come. But aye, mind you, I knew it would, young'n. I knew it would.

::Her fur was alight in red, and beneath her whimper, one may have just managed to make out a word that Gem answered with a quick giggle, translating::

She's Kusaa, she's shy!! ::Almost on cue, Kusaa suddenly took off and upward in a bashful hurry up to the ramparts, but Jamie would not be allowed any time to think more on her as the second little bat grabbed hold of him:: I still wanna dance!!!

Wanna be my par'ner??

::A knock came upon the Infirmary door... it had taken long for Jasmine to realise two beasts were missing, but Faith a single question when the Infirmary Keeper's voice came a calling:: Would this be the resting place of two dithering raccoons?
PostPosted: Mon Oct 03, 2005 4:21 pm

::Resting place, indeed. Both Ather and Terra were slumbering away, despite the loud laughter outside. Ather was usually always asleep, so there was nothing different in his posture; limp and slumbering peacefully on his cot.
Terra was sitting in her usual chair beside her brother, but her upper torso was laying across her brother's chest, eyes closed in a unfitful sleep. Although awkward a position, she normally did this; nodded off when she refused to leave.

She seemed rather tired, though, as she didn't even stir when voices entered the infirmary::

::Jasmine looked in upon them, and chuckled just a little::

Would you lay your eyes on that pair...

::Faith only had one eye visible, so it was hard to lay more than one eye, but she did watch; and smile just as well as her mother brough her in in her arms::

You know, we could have waited for them downstairs...

Yeah... but iffee did, they mighta never came down... gorra ask'em a' lease', righ'?

::Jasmine chuckled again:: I believe you're going to make a very wise Abbess one day, petal...

Already am... ::Faith stuck out her tongue indignantly as Jasmine moved over to the two, and gently put her free paw on Terra's shoulder... trying to rouse her a little... maybe get her off of Ather...::

You know... if you want him to heal, you might not want to lean on his injured arm so...
