Ai laughs and smirks mischieviously. "Ma's told me about that office, how the files are stacked are so high no one dares move them... In fact... I've been there... remember? Though I don't remember all that much about it... we had other irons in the fire that time."

*Kero nods*

Files, yes. Papers, yes. But no dust allowed.

Mara giggles behind her hand, while Ari cries his name in dismay. "Kero...."

Ai shrugs. "Well, is that the best you can do... I seem to remember a much more colorful vocabulary."

"Oh, give him a break, Ai... and let him get to work... must you constantly tease him?" moans Bez sadly.

"Payback..." states Ai with a shrug. "I tease, because I can... and he knows it... still, all teasing aside, Taro. Please, by all means do your work, a backlog of unjudge souls would sit ill on my conscious... but hurry back to us, please. There is unfinished business that needs be attended to. And bring Tes, if she's home. I haven't seen her in ages."

*Kero laughs*

Tes? Home? Apparently you really do not know my wife that well, Sira. And as for my vocabulary....well, I don't want the girls' ears burning up and falling off, now do I?

Ai shrugs. "She drops in from time to time, does she not? Who knows, you might actually cross paths... as for the girls' ears... I am happy to see you've learned a bit of restraint at long last."

Ai laughs and ushers the girls off to bed. "He always did have to have the last word."

*Meanwhile, Kero sits down to sort souls, and sorts...and sorts....and sorts...and snorts...snorts and....sort sand....*

Halfway through the second or third day, he appears to have lost track of time, Ai pops into his office and gently removes a stack of papers form his hand, passing them over to Rhea. Then leading him to his bedroom, he pushes him down on the bed

"Take a break already... Sheesh, ye need to learn to pace yerself, old friend. Neither of us are spring chickens anymore."

"Is this some sort of conspiracy to get me to share my work load?" demands Kero groggily.

Ai lifts a graceful brow and smiles sweetly. "I heard it through the grapevine you were to have split your duties with Rhea. Which means you take turns... and by turns you really should contemplate alternate days or even shifts... This you do it until you collapse with fatigue or the monster within you rears it's ugly head routine of yours doesn't do either of you good. Face it, dulcha, you're skragged. Now crawl in that cocoon of yers and get some rest... or I'll drag ye in there myself... Hmmm, I've never tried that approach... wonder iffin I can do it."

He eyes the dark glossy surface thoughtfully, waiting to see what Kero says or does. Being the guardian of such a stubborn individual has it's downside. Though the upside often out weighed the reverse.

*Kero grudgingly crawls in, though he shakes his head*

You couldn't do it, you interfering busybody. Only I can get it to open.

Ai laughs and tells him to get some sleep, then disappears in a shower of glittering sparks. "I'll interfere only when you do not take care of yourself, dulcha. And not for anything stupid... now get some rest."

Surprisingly Rhea has it pretty much under control, leaving only the most difficult of cases for him to handle. Individuals who had done evil in the name of good were easy to judge... but those who constantly did good in the name of evil were a conundrum worthy of any master riddler.
