The next morning the three of them join the household for breakfast in the dining room. It atmosphere is muted, subdued but simultaneously hectic and they are grateful for the calm peace of the room as the door closes behind them. Lyssan sees them enter and ushers them to a small table near the fire. A servant comes to them bearing a tray of minature pastries and fruit, plus steaming hot cups of a fragrant tea.
The kitsune eyes Tes thoughtfully and asks. "I could have them bring coffee, if you so prefer, But Champhys is doing her best to break of my vice, so I have to order it special these days. If I want any I have to order it, otherwise she sends me tea."

Lyssan nods and hands her a mug, then sits a large bowl of steaming chocolate milk before Luna. "You barely touched your milk yesterday, little girl... I want to see all of that disappear before you touch a single sweet. Do you want your teeth to fall out?"
Luna giggles and holds up a golden bauble, left for her by the tooth fairy. (Fortunately for Kero the tooth fairy is a bonifide dweller in the Twilit realm. He fell asleep before he took care of that little matter.)
"I's alweady wost one... see wuffs I gots fow it." she announces proudly.

Yes...but you need to drink your milk...Lyssan said so, you know. And she's queen here...even I have to obey her orders.

The kitsune snorts through her nose. "When pigs fly..." she mutters under her breath, but she merely smiles sweetly at him and shakes her head. "Luna, what happens when people tell fibbers on the ship?"

"NAw.. not a one of us. Kero does what I tell him to do all the time..." grumbles Lyssan with a smile. "Right, Luna?"
Luna looks at Kero and then at Lyssan and giggles. "Uhuh, ash wong ash you tewl him to do sumtin he wans to do."

Lyssan smiles sweetly at him. "True... and I didn't forget... I said fibbers... those aren't always out and out lies... more like half lies... or should I say half truths... to assuage your sensibilities." She looks at Luna and grins. "Daddy likes to play with words."

Luna sniffs at a block autiously. "Wuff it tawste wike?" she asks screwing up her nose in distaste.
