Ai laughs merrily. "Because he can still taste and enjoy food, silly. He gets something from it... just not enough to survive on." He looks at Bez, wondering if he should tell them the truth, that in many ways he was much the same, only he thrived on emotions, rather than food.
Bez slowly shakes his head. The girls still had a great deal to learn about life, before they discovered that their mother was a psychic vampire.
