Launcher is heading up an event that unfolds like a choose your own adventure book. Sadly since he chooses people that while are members of the guild are not an active part of it nothing really happens. Now that I think of it, it has been a long time since we had an random field trip. Ok we will have a vote on where to go.

sad My parents and everyone we know "back home" in Florida are sitting out a LONG, HUGE hurricane. For those who still have electricity, we're keeping in touch mostly via ChiAkarui's chatting with best buddies... There's a big live oak tree that, with the ground saturated by water and the lake near where they live is flooding, and the winds from the wrong direction could topple it on top of my parent's house. I've lived through bad hurricanes in New Olreans and in Miami. You get kinda crazy while the electricity is off and the generator or manually powered light is the only light, the window's are all shuttered closed and it rains and it pours and the winds howl and you don't know whether it's day or night. You live in the one space in your house that has four sustaining walls and no windows... and they're there, Charley's storm started for them yesterday with intermittent hard rain and power lines blown down but the eye of the storm of a diameter of 150 miles won't reach them until tomorrow night. So, we wait. For once I'm not in the middle of it.

So not just regular autumn/winter holiday, and the occasional 3 weeks long summer holiday there, no we spent our entire xmas vacation there too. I would think Florida would be an awesome place to go. Sunny beaches, amusement parks, the glades. O_o
I had fun when I went down there two years ago.

I had fun when I went down there two years ago. sad In the past 20 years I've watched the slow destruction of the glades ... the beaches that were available to the common "joe" now cost a mint ... and there are hurricanes ... it's beautiful where my parents live (most of the time) ... this year they've had two huge tree limbs crash on their roof-one for each hurricane ...

I use to live in Altamonte Springs, Florida. I remember it was nice. Every once in a while the gutters would fill with BABY FROGS! I wonder if its still nice there.

All I know about Florida is that they have a lot of beaches, alligators and hurricanes.
