1. Completely irrational relationships that people swear are cannon: Cause they aren't. Seriously. No matter how many years you spend trying to prove to me it.

2. Self-lubed ukes.: D: Don't tell me that doesn't hurt.

3. Womanly uke + Stereotypical Seme: Sometimes a seme needs to break down too and an uke can be a good support. An uke doesn't have to act extremely feminine either.

4. Non-reversing roles: Dear gawd. Sometimes your a** HURTS after being on bottom the last 24 times in sex. Real men do it. Animated men can do it too.

5. Character Hate/Bashing: I used to be a person who disliked Kairi because she 'broke up Sora and Riku's relationship'. I realized after a year or two though how wrong I was about her. Don't destroy a person just because they got into the middle of a good relationship.

6. Overly-used plotlines: While it's okay in an RP (crack is fun!), when you're writing professionally or for a lot of people to read - no.

Yeah me too! I understand the whole 'brotherly love' going to a much higher level thing but i just dont like it all that much >< The only time I've read a vauge Elricest fan fic is if it turns Into a RoyxEd fic Anyway XD

Lemme see here....

1) Poorly thought out yaoi fanfics. I like a little adverture here, some drama there, a dash of angst, and a s**t load of romance. It never hurts to think out a fanfiction, especially multi-chaptered ones. Trying to mesh every thought in your head into a 2,000 word One Shot just doesn't cut it in this world.

2) Males and females alike that call themselves a real yaoi fan, but when asked to name of a couple of ACTUAL yaoi couples from ACTUAL yaoi anime/manga, they come up with this: "Um... like.... Aren't Sesshomaru and Naraku a couple?" or something like "Well.... I think that Snape and Harry and über hawt." And it's not like I have something against slashing those fandoms as much as humanly possible, but really, if you're going to call yourself a yaoi fan, get your facts straight.

3) When an author of a yaoi fanfic tells you every little detail in their summary. Where is the suspense? Where's the shock when the story takes an unexpected twist. Something like "Okay, so this is what happens in the story. So-and-so met What's-his-name at a club. They leave the club to What's-his-name's flat where they have hot raunchy sex. So-and-so leaves the next morning with out What's-his-name's name. Years later they meet again and have more raunchy sex and live happily ever after. Oh yeah, this is my 5th fic on here. Enjoy" makes me want to cry and laugh at the same time. It's pathetic and extremely sad to see such things.

4) Ed x Al. Enough said. Don't get me wrong, I like incest but seriously.... yuck.

5) People who try and make an Uke a Seme and a Seme an Uke. Not going to happen. I for one believe that in any Harry Potter yaoi fics featuring the Boy-Who-Lived (since that's the only Harry yaoi I read), Harry should bottom. He fits the role like a satin glove. It's annoying to see people saying that Harry took Snape up the a** like a bulldozer. Never going to happen in my world.

And that's all I can think about right now. Yay for yaoi and those who enjoy it and Boo for those who know nothing or try to give it a bad name.

It's been said before, but I'll second it: When the ukes are way feminine, and a female character would just as easily fit into his role. It totally defeats the purpose of the yaoi.

I guess this goes along with that, but I also get annoyed when the uke is a whiney, spineless sap and will go along with anything just to please his seme. He's gotta have some ability to voice his opinions and say, "I don't like that."

Hm....just because I happen to like this thread ( it's quite useful to someone who loves to write original BL stories ) I've decided to bump it up. Of course, that means I must add something myself...

Alright, I hate it when ukes make their semes cry.

...ok, actually, that's not really a pet peeve. I just don't like it...emotionally, since it always gets me all teared up. xd ( so I suppose you could say I actually really love it )

Ah well, I tried!

2. When theres too much Angst. Theres gotta be some comic relief somewhere!

3. Role reversal annoys me.

4. In anime; When the sex scene is just a slideshow.... stare and you don't see anything whatsoever. stressed

5. When I am unable to download the yaoi DJ's i wanna read. TT.TT

Great question! I'd say...annoying female characters bursting in, not enough contact between the couple, too many distractions.

And when an uke looks like.. the opposite of that. I don't remember the artist's name, but she always draw uke that are like THREE TIMES SMALLER than their seme. Yeah. Uuuugh.


The "big, strong seme/weepy girly uke" dynamic = ew.
